Story
Meet sweet, precious Amanda! Amanda is the snuggliest 7 year old cat to ever exist! She is a beautiful 7 pound tabby with a calm, loving, and gentle spirit. Amanda loves humans and her favorite activity is to sit in your lap. When she is especially happy and comfortable she will face plant onto you. She loves to explore behind doors and has great litter box manners!  Amanda's vet agreed that she has a big heart both figuratively and literally and she is doing great on her blood pressure medication.  She does have kidney disease and her special veterinary diet is keeping things nice and stable!   Amanda is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.   Interested in adopting? Story
Pacino-at-a-glance: 8 year old, male, neutered, DSH, 12-13 lbs., up-to-date on core vaccines, microchipped, FeLV /FIV negative.    Meet Pacino, your new best friend and the BEST guy around! Pacino LOVES attention! B etter yet, he loves being the center of attention, especially if chin scratches are included! This handsome guy has comes with his own personal tuxedo made of silky black and white fur. You’d think he was sponsored by Pantene (because he IS worth it!), but don’t let that fool you, he can play hard. Pacino is super playful and enjoys a variety of toys including wands, catnip toys, and toys that make crinkle noises...probably because he correlates that with his human opening a bag of chips! When we said he was the best boy, we really mean, the BEST boy. He’s like a little shadow, loves to curl up and cuddle and follow you around. This cuddler is currently on anxiety medication as he can be frightful of loud sudden noises but it’s extremely easy to manage and the smallest extra step to his preferred food, Hills C/D food. Adopt this handsome and well behaved boy and he may reward you with a kiss or two (he will anyway). Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Submit an application here!   November 6, 2024, 6:04 am

Story
SADIE Female, spayed 9 years old Domestic Medium Hair Up-to-date on core vaccines, FeLV /FIV negative & microchipped Litter box trained Not good with other cats; untested with dogs or small children   Meet your new favorite golden girl, Sadie! Sadie hasn't had the easiest year, her human of 9 years passed away and she was left alone at a high-kill shelter. But once LOVEPAWS saw the beautiful and cuddly cat she was, we acted fast to get her out! Sadie is the absolute best company anyone could have. I mean, she quite literally is the supervisor in her foster dad’s office! Once her long shift is done, she meets her foster parents at the couch where she requests pets on top of her foster mom's lap. Where she then cutely rolls on her side to show off her beautiful (big chungus) belly and take a well-deserved nap. She's quite the large cat (has a plan with Weight Watchers) but that does NOT slow her down! She gracefully does daily exercise on the stairs, runs back and forth with her wand toy, and is an Olympic medalist for jumping onto high beds and couches. This gorgeous girl also has the best litterbox manners and is NOT a scratcher, your expensive couch is safe! That being said, Sadie is looking for a home where she can gaze out the window, find a comfy box to nap in, have some alone time, but also have loving humans to give her pets. No other cats, please! Sadie wants to the only Queen in your life!   Interested in adopting? Of course, you are! Submit an application here! November 21, 2024, 10:13 am

Story
This pretty tuxedo girl is looking for her purr-fect adopter. Starlight is initially quite shy but with time and patience she really warms up and loves to be pet and cuddled. She's got the cutest little underbite with one crazy fang that sticks out and an ear that is slightly scrunched up. Starlight would do best in a quiet home with other friendly cats. She may do ok with a pup that doesn't bark much but loud noise is intimidating to her. Starlight is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, negative for FelV/FIV, and ready to find her fur-ever home today. If you are viewing this bio on Petfinder, please go to www.frecklesfoundation.org to view photos. The adoption fee for this cat is $175. ***Please note that the first step in the process is to complete our nonbinding application which does not commit you in any way, but allows us to help you to find a great match. Our application review process also includes a veterinary reference check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives (if applicable) and examined annually by your vet.*** Cats adopted through Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue must be indoor only and may not be declawed unless already declawed at the time of rescue.

Story
Missy is a super sweet young cat with a lot of personality who loves to snuggle and sleep on your chest while watching tv. She's a bit wobbly but loves to play and chase her foster brothers around. She is a bit shy at first but once she gets to know you, she'll follow you everywhere (especially the bathroom). She loves watching toilets flush and will meow at you to flush the toilet whenever she gets bored. We love our little Missy Girl, but we simply cannot afford to take care of a 3rd cat right now due to some financial issues sprouting up in the last couple of weeks, and she needs vet care ASAP. We found her abandoned near Gaithersburg HS and have been fostering her for a bit while we worked on finding her a home. If you would like to meet Missy or come and adopt her, please text (xxx) xxx-xxxx or (xxx) xxx-xxxx .

Female, approx 5 year old. DMH Orange Sweet Mango is new to the rescue and we can't wait to find out more about her! If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a CAT: https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adoptable-cats.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats. Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Cat specific vetting: Rabies, FVRCP. Cats are tested for FIV and FeLV, when age appropriate, but not when born to a FELV/FIV negative mother in foster care. Kittens have age-appropriate vetting to date, which includes deworming, microchip, and the first FVRCP vaccine. Kittens born in care to a negative mother will not receive a FIV/FeLV test. An adopter will need to agree to cover costs of spay/neuter when he/she is age-appropriate (usually 16-20 weeks) and will need to continue his/her kitten vaccines (including rabies) as he/she grows older. Kittens under 12 weeks of age must be adopted in pairs or to a home with friendly resident feline. They will not be considered as singles.
