I am quite the traveler! When we lost our home in Florida during Hurrican Ian, we came to the PNW to find a new place to call home. However, recovering from the financial loss has been tough on my mom and we've been staying with her friends. We're grateful for a roof over us but I've been cooped up in one bedroom for way too long because the resident cat is very hostile to me! Mom figured I'd be better in a home of my own, especially since I've been Feline Leukemia (FeLV) positive since I was born. It was thought, I had shed the virus but I guess not. That means I need to be your only kitty or I could live with another kitty that has FeLV if they want company! I'm a very sweet girl and have a few tricks I like to try. I like to try to get the top off the treat jar with my paws. When I think it's time to get mom up, I try to nip her nose to tell her it's time to wake up. I also try to straighten her hair by pulling at the crown. I loved my prior housemates. Jody, 90 lb German Shepherd and Domino, the 14-year-old male cat. It takes me a little time to feel secure and warm up but I've gotten so much better since traveling by car from Florida and being confined for the past couple of months! Hi my name is Onyx - and have I got a story to tell! You see, my original humans just up and left me behind (not cool!) Fortunately, I found my way to a house where a nice lady took me in. It took some time for me to understand indoor life but man have I grown into my own and realized how warm and comfy it is! My favorite things are to greet her in the morning by plopping over on on the rug for pets and following her around the house to show how much I love her. I happily accept being smothered in kisses but I do take a minute to warm up to new people. Being brushed is also the best thing in the world, second to my automatic feeder which I sprint to every time it goes off. I love food. There is another cat in the house, and we co-exist, but I would really like to have people of my own or maybe a younger sister later on. I think I would get along with older kids but those little ones can be a bit noisy for me - and lets forget those slobbery dog things! She does need to be placed with her brother Loki as, Loki is vision impared and Helena helps him navigate life a little easier. These guys have been exposed to other cats and dogs and have done well with both. They are fully potty trained. Loki is a little bit of a special boy. This guys is currently living in a wonderful foster home with his sisters. Loki is special needs as he does have some reduced vision. We feel he needs to go to his new home with his sister Helena as she seems to help him navigate around a little better. The eye specialist believes his eye issue as a congential issue and that he has had it from birth. They don't feel that long term her will require any more medical care for the issues.
