Story
Spayed FemaleAge: 8 YearsGrayDomestic Short HairA351811 More about Nalah: I am a playful, chatty, affectionate, and sweet lady who loves to sunbathe and look out windows. I can be sensitive to loud noises, and will do best ion a quiet, low-traffic home. I will need a slow transition into my new home starting in a small, quiet space and gradually be given access to more of the home as I settle in and become comfortable in my new surroundings. My adopter should have a relationship with a fear-free vet, since I have a low tolerance for handling/vet restraint, and a sedative may be needed for my vet visits. The shelter is open Tuesday through Thursday from noon - 4:30pm, with no appointment needed to meet available cats. Compatibility:Cats: No thanksDogs: No thanksKids: Possibly, able to read cat-body language

Neutered MaleAge: 5 YearsBrown TabbyDomestic Short HairA441763More about Freddie:In my previous home I was described as sweet and loving, and very fond of food this sounds like a great training opportunity! I am a goofy boy who likes to sleep with the shoes of my people, and I enjoy a good chin scratch while snoozing.I am a shy boy who does not do well with change. I need an adopter who will let me move at my own pace. I will need a quiet room to settle in while I am adjusting. My adopter should be prepared to leave me alone for several days, except for feeding and cleaning, before trying to interact with me. My adopter should be patient and understanding, and who is committed to giving me time and not pushing interactions.I can be moody, and I can get overstimulated with a lot of touch. I need an adopter who understands cat-body language and can give me space if I need it. I do not enjoy forced handling, and I may need a fear-free vet going forward.I need a home that is not only quiet but enriching! I am a great cat for a young couple looking to keep things fun in the home for their cat, while also making sure he is comfortable. I would love a home that allows plenty of time to play, as well as some cuddle time. The shelter is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon 4:30pm, with no appointment needed to meet available cats.Compatibility:Dogs: No thank you.Cats: No thank you, previously lived with a cat and did not enjoy it.Kids: Maybe: clear boundaries should be set prior to them interacting with Freddie, as well as the meets should be supervised.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/TX7AHCtz3q0

Story
Spayed FemaleAge: 12 YearsWhite and GrayDomestic Short Hair329699 More about Sky: I can be affectionate once I warm up: I was a fabulous lap cat with my previous owner, who can no longer care for me. I love to play! Do not let my age fool you, I can still get the zoomies and I enjoy wand toys. I have good litter box manners. I am looking for a VERY quiet, low-traffic home with cat-savvy adopters with lots of patience! I was extremely affectionate with my previous owner and would lay on her lap for hours, but I have always been nervous with other people. I am not a very social cat, and it will take a long time to build a relationship with my new family. Given the time and option to do so at my own pace, I will make someone a great low-maintenance companion! It is recommended that my adopter work with a fear-free vet to help come up with a handling plan that will reduce stress for everyone, and keep everyone safe, since I required sedation for vet care here in the shelter. The shelter is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon - 4:30pm, with no appointment needed to meet available cats. Compatibility:Cats: Potentially, but no history. Would do best with a cat who has successfully lived with other cats, with a VERY slow introduction.Kids: Teens and older. I am not going to be amenable to kids who push interaction with me when I am communicating that I am uncomfortable.

I will make a great mellow companion to someone willing to provide me with a quiet retirement home filled with love. I will need a slow introduction to my new home, litter box, and any existing pets while I settle in and become comfortable in my new surroundings. It is recommended that I start in one room, and gradually be given access to more of my new home as I settle in. I am a senior cat, so my medical records will be reviewed with potential adopters to ensure they are comfortable with managing my ongoing needs. I am on a prescription K/D diet here at the shelter, and my adopter can discuss my diet with their personal vet. The shelter is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon - 4:30pm, with no appointment needed to meet available cats. Compatibility:Cats: PossiblyDogs: Possibly - no history, mellow, cat-savvyKids: Yes

I have excellent history living with other cats, and enjoyed having a feline friend in my previous home. In fact, it is a requirement that I go to a home with a social cat that can be a role model and show me the ropes. Spirit cats like me do best having a companion at home! Expectations should be kept low at first, and understand that I am going to need time (weeks to a month&#43:) to show more of my true personality. Based on history in my last home, one should expect me to always be a bit skittish with new people, so a low-traffic, quiet home will be best for me. I will do best with people in my bubble after time, but I am not the type of cat to go up to and greet visitors. It is recommended that I be set up in my own space (an extra bedroom or bathroom) - a space that people or pets will not use unless going in to clean or feed. I should be left alone initially as I adjust. This space should include plenty of hiding places, ideally with access to a vertical surface such as a cat tree or a cat-proofed shelf. I can gradually be given more access to the home when I am confidently moving about my environment with relaxed body language when my adopter visits me in my room. It cannot be stressed enough that I need to be allowed to adapt at my own pace, and that I am who I am and I need a patient, understanding adopter who will not push me or expect me to be anything other than who I am.
