To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Do not contact through this site. We try to respond to all inquiries but due to the number of responses we get, we may not be able to respond to messages submitted through this site.  If a profile is submitted through the link above, we guarantee a response and availability updates regarding the cat of interest.   How would you describe the cat's general personality? Eleven is very outgoing and social. She loves to be around people, especially ones she knows well. She will follow you around, sit with you, and loves to be pet and play. Ten is a goofy and clumsy cat. She loves to play, runs so fast she falls over, and follows her mom around. Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes! Eleven loves being pet and cuddling almost all of the time. Ten prefers to play more often than being pet since she's young, but when she's sleepy she likes to be pet.  If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? On the head, between the ears, behind the ears, and on the back. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? No. Does the cat come on your lap? Eleven does, Ten doesn't. Does the cat like to be held? Eleven does, Ten doesn't. Does the cat sleep in your bed? We don't personally like for the cats to sleep in our beds, but they definitely would if we let them. Does the cat seek your attention? Yes. Eleven loves to follow us around the apartment and always wants to be pet. Ten seeks attention when she wants to play with you or when she’s following her mom. Does the cat like to play? Yes, they love to play with us with their toys and with each other. What are the cat's favorite games and toys? They will play with almost anything- they love their mouse toys, catnip toys, and especially toys with strings. They also love to just chase each other around and wrestle. How vocal is the cat? They are both pretty vocal, but mostly only when they're hungry. What kinds of sounds does the cat make? Really cute high pitched meows and squeaks. Does the cat scratch a scratcher?  Yes. If no, please explain.  They also occasionally scratch furniture but will stop when we tell them to. Does the cat always use the litter box?  Yes. If no, please explain.  At first we only had one litter box, and there were maybe 3 incidences of them peeing on the couch. After we got a second box that never happened again. They also occasionally went in the bathroom sink instead of the litter box, but we put citrus smells and tinfoil to deter them from the sink and that worked well and stopped that from happening. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? Ten eats 1 2.5oz can of kitten wet food in the morning for breakfast and another one for dinner. She munches on dry food throughout the day. Eleven eats 1 2.5oz can of adult cat wet food in the morning for breakfast and another one for dinner. She munches on dry food throughout the day. Is the cat picky about food? No. What is the cat's favorite treat? They love all treats, but we mostly give them liquid treat tubes as well as dental cat treats. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? Yes, but just when playing. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? Yes, but just when playing.  Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? Eleven is very social, and approaches new people to be pet and to play.  Ten is fearful at first and hides a little, but gets curious and wants to play soon after. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? They are extremely bonded to each other and they love to cuddle with each other, sleep together, lick each other, as well as play and chase one another around. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? These are the sweetest cats I've ever known. I think their love for each other is so adorable and watching them cuddle and play brings so much joy to my daily life. I also think they are the perfect combination of cats to have, because Eleven is so cuddly and loves to be pet and Ten is so playful, so you get the best of both worlds with the two of them! What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? They are extremely curious and sometimes want to be in places we don't want them to, like on tables and counters. However, we've learned that making a loud noise like clapping or saying no teaches them not to do those things.  To learn more about adopting this cat in Massachusetts, please visit www.blackcatrescue.com or fill out an Adoption Profile at https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston.  Do not contact through the links on this site. All about Oreo from his foster home!  How would you describe the cat's general personality? Oreo is extremely playful, energetic, and cuddly. He loves to be the center of attention and will follow you everywhere. Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? His head and ears Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? He does not like being pet anywhere besides his head Does the cat come on your lap? Yes, he will climb into your lap when he wants to cuddle. Does the cat like to be held? No Does the cat sleep in your bed? Sometimes Does the cat seek your attention? Absolutely! Does the cat like to play? He loves it. What are the cat's favorite games and toys? He loves any type of teaser toy on a stick, anything with catnip, and something small that he can bat around. Feathers are a plus, and he doesn’t love toys that make noise. He LOVES to scratch on a scratching post when he gets riled up too. His favorite game is hiding behind his cat tree while you move a toy around in front of it, so he can jump through the cat tree and pounce! How vocal is the cat? Somewhat What kinds of sounds does the cat make? Mostly just the occasional meow, but he has been known to growl when “killing” his toys. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes! Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes, he is excellent with his litter box Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? Yes, if he is wanting to play and not getting your attention Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? Yes, when he wants to be left alone or wants you to please stop petting him. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? Yes, he has a lot of energy and sometimes will “ambush” if he is feeling playful but not being played with. He also will sometimes bite when he gets overstimulated, but more often than not it is play aggression. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? He is very social once he settles into his environment. I usually let visitors know that he prefers to only be pet on the head. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? Oreo loves to lay on his back, and it is just about the cutest thing ever. He also often gets the “zoomies” and will spontaneously bolt around the house. He begs for human food (but never eats it) and will hide somewhere and wait for you, just to jump out and entice you to play with him! He is a really crazy guy. We love him. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? If you’re looking for an energetic, playful companion who is also down to snuggle, Oreo is your guy. Life is never dull with him. Even just walking around the house you will enter into an accidental game of hide and seek or find him prancing around like crazy at the top of the stairs waiting for you to come play with him. He has a passion for parkour and will whip out his skills at the slightest provocation and literally bounce off walls. Once it’s nap time, though, he is an unmatched snuggler. If you pat your lap and say his name, he will run over if he’s feeling cuddly, and settle in for a nap and lots of head scratches. He’s just happy to be around you all the time! What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? Oreo’s biggest challenge is his playful biting. He hasn’t quite learned when playtime is over, and that hands are not toys. We have best managed it by making an effort to play with him more often, and make the very deliberate choice never to let him use hands as toys, even though he’s really cute. We also listen to his boundaries, and leave him alone if he doesn’t want to be pet. The biting is an occasional issue and doesn’t get in the way of him being an awesome, perfect, lovable cat.  A feline friend at home should redirect this behavior to wrestling and playing with his furry sibling! Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hello there! My name is Pepsi and I am the sweetest 1- to 2-year-old girl you'll ever meet! I had a litter of kittens recently, but they were all adopted and now it's my turn! I'm very friendly and lovable and just adore people. I am FIV positive but I have no symptoms and will have a long, healthy life ahead of me. I need to be in a home with another feline friend to keep me company (and yes, FIV+ cats can live with other kitties!). I'm sure to bring a lot of love and fun into your life if you give me a chance! I am available through Kitty Connection in Medford. Please visit www.kittyconnection.net/adopt/cats/ for more information.

Story
Hi! My name is Lily and I am a 1- to 2-year-old female. I'm heartbroken that my family is moving and can't take me with them. I am a very friendly little girl - I will come and greet strangers as soon as they step through the door. I'm great with children and have lived with them my whole life. I need a home where I'll get lots of attention and won't have to spend a lot of time alone - whether that's with another feline friend or with my humans! I can't wait to meet you! I am available through Kitty Connection in Medford. Please visit www.kittyconnection.net/adopt/cats/ for more information.

Story
Howdy! I'm Mario and I am a handsome, long-legged young boy ready to meet my loving adopter and forever home! I am very sweet and friendly, and I like pets, even on my tummy! I love to play, and would do very well (with a slow introduction) in a home with a high-energy feline friend. I am currently being fostered in a home with several senior cats who do not appreciate my attempts to play with them, but we all get along when I leave them alone! I have not been exposed to children while in foster, but I think I will get along with kids if they are respectful. And we do not know my history with dogs, but I should be okay with a cat-savvy, or mellow dog who won’t mind being chased around by a young, active, playful cat! I was hit by a car and crawled into a trailer. Someone saw that I was dragging myself with a broken pelvis, one side badly shattered, and Kitty Connection was called to take me to the animal hospital where I have had two surgeries: one to insert pins to help me heal, and the second to remove a pin. I can now walk without a limp, and once my fur grows back, there will be no sign of my medical journey! All along I have been stoic and ready to jump and play even when my surgeon told me to rest, and now that I have healed, I can jump and play all I want! I love sitting in a sunny window seat, and on a cat tree in front of a window where I can catch sunny rays and watch Cat TV. I am very curious, and will do well with lots of enrichment toys to keep me busy. I don’t snuggle on the sofa, but maybe I will with time. My foster mom’s lap is usually filled with senior cats who claim the space first. I am okay being picked up, but not held for long, or being carried around. When I am called, I respond for a few pets, but then I need to be off on my next adventure! I have a good appetite, and can hear a cat food can being opened from the second floor! I have good litter box manners. Are you the lucky adopter who will have the good fortune to look into my sweet eyes every day? I am available through Kitty Connection in Medford. Please visit www.kittyconnection.net/adopt/cats/ for more information.
