Story
Mia was rescued from a kill shelter in 2018. At that time she was 6yrs old. She was adopted to a nice older woman who ended up going into assisted living where she eventually passed away. Mia was then adopted again by a man who loved her. However, something happened to this mans living arrangements, and he gave Mia to his niece to watch until he was to move back into his apartment after renovations. Then one day I got a call from Boston animal control saying Mia was turned in as a stray. We went and got her, called the guy who originally adopted her, and he said he had no idea that Mia was even missing! She needs a stable environment where she can feel safe and loved. We brought Mia to the vet. She got her physical and all vaccines are updated. She is VERY playful at the nice golden age of 12, and we would like her to go to a calm home as an only pet. She may do well with 1 other cat but definitely NOT a dog. She is a strictly indoor cat.

Story
Hello, My wife and I adopted Batman as a young kitten as our first family pet. He is a 7 year old loving, and sometimes vocal, indoor only house cat. In his free time he enjoys being close to his humans and sitting on or near them during cuddle time on the couch. He is completely litter trained and has never had an accident in the house. He has exclusively used the Litter Robot 3 for the last 4 years without issue, and this adoption would include the litter robot free of charge. Reluctantly, we are looking to rehome Batman as we recently adopted a young puppy and Batman is not happy. He has been used to having the house to himself and gets anxious and uncomfortable whenever he hears or sees the dog. We want him to have a happy and better life and unfortunately we believe giving him to a home without any other cats or dogs would be an ideal situation for him to flourish. Batman is a great and social companion, and has never scratched or destroyed any piece of furniture. Thank you!

Story
Thor is 6 years old. He is extremely gentle, affectionate, and would do well with someone who has a routine he can look forward to(comes home similar times each day, goes out on weekends but at least comes home at night). Thor is independent but has anxiety, however, he warms up very well to people if you allow him to come to you. He is not aggressive and has never hurt any one in my time of having him. He is 14 pounds and on a non-prescription diet of 220kcal/day to lower his weight. He is otherwise healthy and up to date on all vaccinations and routine examinations. Thor was a stray who I fell in love with and decided to keep. I thought I could keep him forever but unfortunately housing and safety issues have arose for both of us and I need to find him a safe space. He is excellent with the litter box and is very disciplined about only clawing his scratching posts. He enjoys toys he can toss around himself and feather dangle wands he can jump up and catch.

Story
I adopted Lenny as a kitten in '21 and she will be 3 around 8/24. Lenny is a super sweet super cuddly cat with her primary caretaker. She was feral when I got her and is fully socialized but can get nervous in new environments or around new people. I recently moved into a new apartment away from my family who worked from home. She has shown some aggression to me recently (hissing, scratching, etc) which I believe is caused from the change in environment and possibly discontentment with her new home. She has not shown aggression to my roommate or any of the guests weve had over and I do believe this might just be her way to show me shes unhappy. Also, the vet ruled out any physical injury. Although I am home often, I do work full-time. I believe Lenny would do great in a home with someone who works from home or is home very often. Lenny is extremely affection with her person and loves to cuddle and play. I love her sm and she deserves to be somewhere where she can be happy and thrive.

Story
We are looking for a new home for our sweet little Tuna because he does not get along with our other cat. Tuna is a wonderful little guy, an excellent mouser, cuddly when he wants to be, a lover of spring toys, and an all around cute little kitty. He can get a bit spooked by strangers but once he gets to know them, he warms right up. We have two daughters whom he mostly keeps his distance from, and we think he would be best suited to a new home with no children. We are very sad to have to find a new home for Tuna, and hope that someone who can shower him with love and pets and snuggles will be his next (and hopefully forever) owner.

Story
To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Midnight's journey has been a challenging one; she was attacked by a dog, which left her with nerve damage and incontinence. Her tail had to be amputated, and she was sent to Black Cat Rescue to heal. Despite the hardships she has faced, Midnight has shown remarkable resilience and strength. With the care and support of her foster human, she has made incredible progress. Her incontinence is now manageable with the help of a diaper, and she has adapted to her new circumstances with grace and determination. Midnight is now ready for her next chapter, a loving home where she can receive the care and attention she deserves. She is a sweet and affectionate cat, with a playful spirit that shines bright. She even still likes dogs!! All she needs is a chance to show you the love and joy she has to offer. Please consider opening your heart and home to Midnight. She has so much love to give and is ready to become a cherished member of your family. Together, we can give Midnight the happy ending she deserves. Here's what her foster human has to say about Midnight: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Midnight is very outgoing and active.  She thinks the world is her oyster.  She doesn't hide, even when first entering a space (including the NBC studios). Does the cat enjoy being pet? If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet?   Midnight loves being petted.  She often stretches up and puts her legs on my knees when I'm sitting so I can rub her head and ears.     Also, if I rub her backside briskly, just above her tail, she will pee or poop if she has something  ready to go.  Recently, she's been volunteering to stand in the catbox for this, which is really helpful. . Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched?   Don't pet her backside above the tail if you don't want her to pee or poop.  Also, she is such an active cat that she sometimes won't stand still long enough to be petted, but we still get lots of pets in.   Does the cat come on your lap?     Does the cat like to be held? She wants to come up on my lap and she doesn't mind being held, but we are limited by the fact that she may pee or poop on me.  Sometimes I put a cloth on my lap so we can cuddle.  She also likes to climb up on my shoulders when I'm sitting in the kitchen.   Does the cat sleep in your bed?   I'll bet she would if I could let her. Does the cat seek your attention? Does the cat like to play? What are the cat's favorite games and toys? Midnight absolutely loves attention, either from people or other pets and is always up for playing.  She loves her pole toy and anything that she can bat around on the floor.  She also likes batting at Arvid the dog (who doesn't seem to mind). How vocal is the cat? What kinds of sounds does the cat make?   Midnight isn't a big talker and doesn't cry to get through doors, etc. but she has a very cute little meow when she wants to tell me something. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? If no, please explain   Yes, Midnight likes both her cardboard scratcher and to get a long scratch in anytime that she can get to the flat-weave rugs (when she escapes into the livingroom). . Does the cat always use the litter box? If no, please explain. Midnight likes the catbox and will go in and 'pretend' to poop, then scratch around in the litter.  She does occasionally get a poop in the box but as often as not her poops will end up elsewhere.  She doesn't seem to be able to push them out voluntarily without help.     That being said, as I mentioned before, she will poop and pee if I rub her tail end and she is starting to volunteer to do that.  I'm guessing that she is more comfortable with the poops out and appreciates the help.  This is a change from a few months ago when she often wouldn't stand still to have me rub her tail end and make her poop.     I've been making sure she has plenty of time to run around and get exercise on the theory that that will help her to strengthen her back end and perhaps help with the poop coordination.  (She does a lot of running and jumping around now that we've figured out how to poop-proof larger areas of the house. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? Is the cat picky about food?   I've been feeding Midnight Royal Canin dental food (Dr. Leavey recommended that for another cat to keep weight in line).  I feed about 3/4 cups per day - sometimes I put out more and she seems to self-regulate her intake. What is the cat's favorite treat? Pretty much anything - I give her freeze-dried salmon or any dry cat treats that we have on hand.  She also likes the pate treats. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances?   Midnight likes to play and will swat at me and Arvid for fun.     Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you?   Midnight rarely scratches but has clawed me when she is very anxious (at the cat event) or when I tried to get her into a diaper when she had already told me no.  That said, she doesn't scratch me or complain even when I have to put her back into her part of the house after an escape to the livingroom. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No, she hasn't nipped or bitten me. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful?   Midnight is super friendly with anyone who comes to visit and was either friendly or tolerant with everybody on her outings, except when she'd really had enough at the Boston cat event.  She loves playing with my dog and me and tried to befriend Hugo, my friend's cat who came to stay with us (in his own segregated part of the house)   I think Midnight would love living in a home with other pets, especially if she doesn't recover the ability to reliably use the catbox and so can't sit on laps or sleep with people. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions?   As mentioned, Midnight is about the most outgoing, social cat I've ever met.  Also, she is really soft and super plush which isn't really a trait, but makes her very pretty and really enjoyable to pet. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt?   If Midnight could use the catbox reliably, she would be just about perfect.  Only people who don't want a cat who is super friendly and interactive should steer away.   Just a guess, but she might be quite dominant in a multi-cat household - she is not at all shy around other cats. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them?   Her challenge is just the obvious one.  We have to cover everything with cloths and pads to manage her pee/poop.     I still hope that she will recover her catbox skills, but she might not.  Things have definitely gotten easier over time, but that is partly because I'm getting better at Midnight-proofing the areas she has access to.  That said, she is offering a glimmer of hope so, fingers crossed! Story
To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston All about Boots from her foster home! Boots is a gem of a cat who wants nothing more in life than to be by your side! Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes! She’s loves being pet! If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? All over, but she especially loves chin scratches. She will give you kisses too! Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? She doesn’t like getting her nails clipped. Does the cat come on your lap? Not exactly. She's more of a lean against you affectionately kind of girl. Does the cat like to be held? She tolerates being picked up with no issue. She's incredibly easy to put in a carrier. I think she prefers to be next to you/leaning against you than to be wrapped up your arms but she tolerates it like a champ. She's really very agreeable. Does the cat sleep in your bed? Yes! That is her preferred mode of sleeping so will need to be allowed to sleep in you bed too. She's a great bed buddy and sits quietly throughout the night. Does the cat seek your attention? Most definitely. Because there are resident cats in her Foster home, Boots is being fostered in a separate room. She will meow for attention if she gets lonely. If you are in the room with her, she will come over to where you are and settle in beside you.  Does the cat like to play? She really likes catnip toys. She likes to paw at your pen while you write. She has a feather toy that wobbles and pops back up that she likes. And she likes a particular wand toy that she can take to her new home with her. How vocal is the cat? She is a vocal gal who lets you know she wants your attention. She has kind of a loud raspy meow.  What kinds of sounds does the cat make? She meows and purrs. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes. Does the cat always use the litter box? Always, never any issues. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? Never. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? Never. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? Very social - she LOVES humans. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? She sleeps sometimes with her face down in the blankets in the "faceplant" position. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? She is just the sweetest, most easygoing girl. She'll be a loyal companion and a great WFH buddy.  What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? She absolutely doesn’t get along with cats or dogs. We tried on multiple occasions to introduce her to our resident cats and each time it was a failure. Therefore, we had to keep her in a separate room, which is not ideal since she is so social with people. We know Boots will be so much happier in a home with no other pets and person of her own. Boots has hyperthyroidism and gets medication rubbed into her inner ear 2x per day. She's a great patient and makes the process a breeze. Story
To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston All about Pumas from his foster home! How would you describe the cat's general personality?   Pumas  is an overall shy, 2 year old boy, but as he has gotten more comfortable, he's shown himself to be very smart, affectionate, and energetic. He's looking for someone who can give him a ton of safety and love.   Does the cat enjoy being pet?   Yes.   If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet?    He loves head and cheek scratches.   Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched?   He doesn't seem to like belly touches, and his lower body can get overstimulated easily.   Does the cat come on your lap?   No, not as of yet, but as he has gotten more comfortable, he likes to cuddle next to me on the couch.   Does the cat like to be held?   He will tolerate it for short periods of time, but he doesn't seem to enjoy it.   Does the cat sleep in your bed?   Yes, sometimes.   Does the cat seek your attention?   Yes. When he wants some, he will rub up against your legs and meow. He has also begun headbutting for pets more often.   Does the cat like to play?   Yes.   What are the cat's favorite games and toys?   He has enjoyed a mixture of everything. From little spring toys to kickers to wands. He loves to bat at his prey before pouncing and dealing the death blow. He has also become adept at solving puzzle feeders for treats!   How vocal is the cat?   He is pretty quiet unless he wants your attention.   What kinds of sounds does the cat make?   He makes quiet little meows.   Does the cat scratch a scratcher?   He has scratched scratchers a couple of times, but overall, he hasn't been particularly interested in them.    If no, please explain.   He seems to like the fabric of the Ikea chair his favorite carrier/hiding spot much better than the cardboard scratchers. I haven't done much to redirect the behavior as of yet.   Does the cat always use the litter box?   Yes, with one exception.   If no, please explain.   A few days after his neuter surgery, he went roaming and peed on the couch, most likely out of fear and insecurity. He hasn't done it since.   What food and frequency is the cat currently eating?   He is fed a portion of wet food and dry food twice a day. For wet food, he eats the Sheba Cuts in Gravy, and for dry food, he eats Purina Cat Chow Indoor. He is very good at his puzzle feeder.   Is the cat picky about food?   Not particularly, but he doesn't seem to like pate-textured wet food.   What is the cat's favorite treat?   He likes Greenies, Friskies, and Tempations dry treats. Be sure to put away any bags of treats, because he will try to tear through them.   Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances?   Yes. When he gets worked up from attention seeking, he will swat.   Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you?   Yes. He went through a lot of turmoil when I first took him in (I was his second foster in four days, and then he needed to go to the vet for surgery), and during that time, he was very scared and didn't want to make friends. He is also a young guy who is still getting comfortable with playing in my home, and he has scratched out of semi-controlled zoomie behavior and also play aggression.   Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you?   Yes. He will work himself up into a frenzy rubbing up against a person and then nip out of instinct.   Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)?   No.   To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful?   I am going to try to get him more comfortable with strangers, but he seems to be inclined to hide underneath the bed as soon as something new and unfamiliar enters his life, including people.   Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions?   When he wants pets and attention, he will hop up onto his hind legs to beg for kisses on the head. He also loves to hang out in windows and watch the world go by. He also will occasionally chase his own tail.   In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt?   I think  Pumas  is a sweet cat with a lot of potential to really blossom when he gets really comfortable and settled. He has really come out of his shell once his life gained some stability in foster, and I think he will be extremely loving and loyal to his future forever family.   What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them?   Pumas  isn't the most confident cat, and it will take patience to earn his trust. New things are scary for him! Being able to read cat body language will also help. He also has a ton of energy that will have to be managed through play.
