Grey – Available for Adoption Grey is a sweet, funny little guy with a distinctive smudge on his face. He has taken his time to come out of his shell—almost literally! He was friendly from the start of his fostering but only from inside his little soft ‘house’. . .like a snail he practically carried his ‘house’ around from inside it! But he so loved human pets that he welcomed head scratches from inside his house. His need for a sense of security is understandable, given that the home he knew consistently for over 8 years ended suddenly on the passing of his human. He has come a long way since his days or receiving pets from inside his little house. Now Grey is a lot more comfortable with his new foster. He purrs instead of hisses when approached. When guests are over, he hides from them which is understandable - new people are scary! But when it’s just Grey and his foster mom, he’s confident to explore the apartment and sometimes shares a couch with the resident cat. He’s quite playful with his toys and runs pretty fast too! Grey is especially affectionate around mealtimes, getting up on his hind legs and rubbing against his foster. He loves being pet especially on his head! Grey’s purr’fect home would be a quiet one without a lot of comings & goings. He will likely do OK with a calm, friendly resident kitty. He prefers to be on his own, but probably won’t mind sharing a home with another kitty. Grey is approximately 9 years old, neutered and negative for FeLV and FIV. Nugget is a cat-social cat that has been pretty worried here at the shelter. Nugget doesn`t have a lot of history of enjoying interactions with humans, so we aren`t sure if he`s going to be interested in making human friends. Ideally, Nugget could go to a home where there is another confident cat friend in the home without any expectations on being human-oriented. Adopters should be prepared to let Nugget set the pace, and not have an expectation on how Nugget is going to behave. We think he could do best in a quiet, low traffic home! Nugget is an older guy that loves to curl up in a cozy bed and snooze all day. If you can provide a safe place to land for this deserving kitty, please come in and meet him!

6-9-26 Juliet is a lovely and unusual looking kitten with a precious mustache and a great personality! She is spayed, tested for diseases and vaccinated. Benny – Available for Adoption UPDATE FROM FOSTER: “Benny continues to be a very entertaining companion. Being relatively young, he has lots of energy -- far more than I 🙁 . He likes his catnip fishie and could chase the feather wand for hours, but I can only manage to swing it for him for a few minutes at a time. He is very athletic and leaps and twists and turns, trying the catch the feathers. I'm usually faster, but make sure that he catches it often enough so that he's not discouraged. BFF found him an amazing rechargeable interactive toy and he loves it. He finds it endlessly entertaining and will sit beside it waiting for me to turn it on for him, so that he can attack that feather wand and that butterfly. I think that Benny's ideal home would include a feline buddy with whom he can roughhouse and wrestle. In his quieter moments he can look a very elegant gentleman. He enjoys sitting on the back of the sofa where he can watch the world outside, but he usually ends up just being silly. He's very entertaining indeed.” Benny is a very handsome gentleman, but he doesn't much like posing, so when he sees the camera, he twists and squiggles and makes faces. He's been in foster care for a bit and he's settling in nicely, taking over his foster’s sofa and chair in the study and is quickly becoming a lap cat, watching the Red Sox on TV. Benny is positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) so he will need to be an only kitty, unless he moves into a home that has other friendly FeLV kitties or friendly kitties who have the FeLV vaccine. FeLV is a contagious retrovirus that infects cats. It weakens the feline immune system, making cats highly susceptible to severe infections, anemia, and certain cancers like lymphoma. While there is no cure, the virus cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs. Benny is approximately 4 years old, neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, negative for FIV, but positive FeLV.
