Story
Looking for a fun-loving companion? Meet Freya, a 1yo friendly, curious, playful, chatty girl who will thrive with pet-aware kids! This sweetheart is a true bundle of joy—she loves playtime and rocketing around the house chasing her wand toy, and, when tuckered, will drag it into another room to save for when the zoomies strike again. When not playing, Freya enjoys snuggles and a lap nap. Her favorite pastimes are watching birds through a window and perching high up (naps on top of a wardrobe or bookcase are ideal for her); however, this energetic adventurer would love a cat tree to call her own. Freya has recently decided that Temptations treats are the best, both as a perfect pre-meal and afternoon snack. The limit of how many she would like does not exist and she will ask specifically for some if you walk by the bin where they are stored. Freya is curious and friendly, yet cautious with new people, but her caretaker believes she will adapt quickly to a new family. Freya is special-needs, as she is FeLV+, a virus that may affect a cat’s immune system, but that doesn't slow her down a bit! With good nutrition and regular veterinary care, FeLV+ cats often enjoy a high quality of life for many years. Freya is looking for a loving home as the only kitty, or with other FeLV+ feline friends; she is perfectly safe to be with humans and dogs. Freya is ready to fill your home with laughter and more love and she cannot wait to meet you! Complete an adoption application, today, at pawswakefieldma.org and we’ll be in touch soon.

Story
Every cat deserves a good home - is yours the right one for Pam and Flo? This bonded pair of felines is ready to find their permanent one. Flo, a luxurious soft gray, and Pam, midnight black, both with beautiful green eyes, are 8.5-9 yrs old. They met in a shelter, where they spent a long time, and are quite timid. They're good cats and would love a quiet home (no kids, no cats or dogs) where they could have their own space to enjoy the sun and lots of naps. Pam and Flo are perfectly happy just to keep one another company and do not seek out petting or laps. As their photos show, sometimes they're velcro kitties, and sometimes they want their own space. They need lots of time to build trust with their caregiver, one who will be patient and kind and understanding as they slowly settle in. Their foster mom lovingly refer to them as “my decoratives”. Do you know someone who whose home would be perfect for them?

Story
Ragnell is a shy 1yo female with a beautiful calico coat. She is at the Kitty Cat Cafe now where they are spending a lot of time talking to her and giving her slow blinks to get her feeling braver. She has started accepting pets and meeting some of the friendlier cats at the cafe. Before going to the Kitty Cafe Ragnell had bonded with her foster, so we are confident that Ragnell will overcome her initial shyness with time and patience.

Story
Get ready to fall in love! A timid, yet quietly curious 5yo boy, Biff is transforming into a brave young cat. He likes to keep all four paws on the ground, but once you’ve earned his trust, he will be a great and courageous friend. His favorite pastimes are lounging and watching the world go by from his treasured spots – futon, floor, bay window - playing with the laser pointer and feather wand, and taking delight in feline company who will love and guide him. Biff doesn’t ask for much and will do well in a quiet home with a cat-savvy adopter who understands that with patience and respect for his boundaries, he will blossom into the confident boy he is becoming. Biff’s world truly brightens in the presence of another cat and is looking for a home with at least one other resident feline who is calm, friendly, and well-socialized. He will be happiest with a quiet room to start and spending quality time with you while he gets his bearings to feel safe in his forever home. Ready to make Biff a part of your family? Schedule a visit today by completing an adoption application at pawswakefieldma.org/adoption-application and we’ll be in touch to arrange a meeting.

Story
Meet Hurricane — our 13-year-old affectionate gentleman, lovingly called Cane. He may be timid and a little skittish at first, but from day one he's shown how much he enjoys human company. With just a bit of patience and kindness, Cane quickly blossoms into the sweetest lap cat. He has a wonderfully loud, rumbly purr — a true little purring machine — and loves curling up with his people. At night, he’s happiest sleeping on the bed, tucked close to someone he trusts. Cane can be a solo cat or join a multi-cat home, though he does seem to prefer humans over feline company and can be a bit standoffish with other cats. Despite his age, he’s got great energy: he plays with catnip toys on his own and will sometimes join in for wand-toy playtime too. Hurricane’s overall health is good, but he does have a mild cardiac condition that is being managed with medication. If you're looking for a gentle, people-loving companion who just wants a warm lap and a soft voice, Cane may be your perfect match!
