Story
Meet Faith – Your Playful, Chatty Sidekick! Hi, I’m Faith! I was rescued from the euthanasia list at a local shelter (thankfully!), and now I’m on a mission to find my forever family. I’m beyond grateful for my foster mom, who has helped me blossom into the fun, energetic, and loving girl I am today. I’m a super chatty kitty who loves to have full-on conversations with my humans—my adorable chirps will melt your heart! I’m playful, curious, and always on the move. I have major kitten energy, so I’ll keep you entertained with my zoomies, playful "ambushes" (I’ll gently paw at your legs when you least expect it—gotcha!), and love for all things catnip. If it's on the floor, it’s my new favorite toy! I love being around people but can also keep myself busy with toys. I’d be happy as an only cat, but I also get along with other kitties as long as we have slow introductions. My foster cat siblings prefer naps, but I’d love a friend who enjoys playtime as much as I do! I’ve also been told my markings are super unique, giving me an extra cool look—and I have to admit, I rock a bowtie pretty well! Because I can get overstimulated and have an independent streak, I’d do best in a home without kids. I need a family who understands my playful and sometimes sassy personality and will give me space when I need it. I have a sneaky suspicion that my forever family is just around the corner—could it be you? Let’s meet and find out! Faith is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Story
Lap Cat Alert! Meet Shawnee – Your Personal Blanket with a Purr Looking for a mellow, loving companion who’s equal parts cat and cozy throw blanket? Say hello to Shawnee, a two-year-old sweetheart with the soul of a wise old lady wrapped in a young cat’s body. Shawnee was rescued from a hoarding situation, but you’d never guess it—she’s bounced back with grace and is now all about the simple joys: soft beds, warm sunbeams, and quiet cuddles. This gentle girl has a soft, soothing purr and a charming little voice—she’s always ready for a friendly chat and some good company. Her foster mom says it best: “She’s an easy foster—so sweet. You sit down and she comes right over, ready for snuggles and love.” Whether you're working from home or winding down with a book, Shawnee is the ultimate lap cat—always ready to settle in and stay close. Shawnee is FIV+, but don’t let that intimidate you. It doesn’t require medication or special care—it just means her immune system needs a little extra love. As an indoor cat, she’s at low risk and ready to live a full, happy life. If your perfect day includes a warm cuddle buddy, quiet companionship, and the occasional cat conversation, Shawnee is your girl. Bring her home and discover the joy of a soft, steady presence in your life. Shawnee is currently in a foster home.

Story
Meet Poppi! Poppi is a little shy, a trait that only adds to her charm. She appreciates the company of her fellow felines, finding comfort and companionship in their presence. Which makes her a great addition to a home that already has feline friends. She has a soft spot for treats, but don't expect her to be overly affectionate. Poppi might not be the type to sit on your lap and purr, but she will bring joy and companionship to your home. Her unique personality makes her the perfect pet for someone who appreciates a cat with an independent spirit. Poppi requires a patient and understanding adopter. Someone who can understand her initial reticence and give her the time she needs to come out of her shell. The joy of watching Poppi bloom into a confident, loving pet is a reward in itself. Poppi is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. Story
Meet Wisteria – A Calico with Cattitude and Charm Wisteria is a stunning calico girl with a big personality and plenty of opinions—just ask her, she’s happy to meow them to you! Independent and quirky, she’s the kind of cat who loves interaction but always on her own terms (classic calico behavior!). She’s energetic, confident, and playful—getting along well with her sisters, our resident cats, and even our puppy. She doesn’t enjoy being held, but she does enjoy pets and attention when she's in the mood. Wisteria would thrive in a home with another playful and respectful cat friend, but she could also do well as an only cat as long as she gets plenty of playtime and attention. Because of her independent streak, she’d do best in a home with older, respectful children who can give her space when she wants it. If you're looking for a spunky, sassy, and totally lovable companion, Wisteria might just be your perfect match. Wisteria is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. Story
Meet Tuff Nut! This adorable little house panther is equal parts cuddler and adventurer! Tuff Nut is a big-time snuggler who loves curling up in your lap, but he also has a mischievous streak that keeps life fun. He’s curious and bold, with a special talent for exploring closets and sneaking into new spaces to investigate. Tuff Nut is part of the Snuggle Squad, a group of kittens from three different litters who have grown up together and bonded into the most loving, social crew. Because of this, Tuff Nut needs to be adopted out as a pair with one of his best buddies: Tart, Eclair, Strudel, Toothless, Astrid, Hiccup, Pascha, Peter, Lark, Lily, or Blossom. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly kitten with a playful side, Tuff Nut is your perfect match! Tuff Nut is currently in a foster home. Story
Meet Radish – A Resilient Little Calico with a Heart of Gold Born behind a bar, Radish had a rough start in life, but this tiny survivor is rewriting her story—one cuddle, one treat, and one purr at a time. The youngest of eight siblings, she’s affectionately known as everyone’s little princess, and she wears the title with grace and sass. Princess is learning to love and trust again, thanks to the gentle guidance of her beloved Auntie Rhubarbara, who adopted her and became her emotional anchor. Because of this bond, Princess will thrive in a home with a companion cat—ideally one who’s nurturing and patient, just like Rhubarbara. Her calico coat is a masterpiece: one side is a canvas of snowy white, while the other bursts with vibrant patches of orange and black. It’s like she’s two kittens in one—soft and serene on one side, bold and playful on the other. Princess is a foodie at heart. Her eyes light up for Temptations treats, crunchy little sardines, and the irresistible gooey goodness of Churus. Offer her a snack, and you’ll win her trust a little more each day. Ideal Home: Must have at least one friendly companion cat Calm, loving environment with patient humans Plenty of treats and cozy spots to nap If you’re ready to welcome a tiny queen with a big heart into your life, Radish is waiting to rule your home—and your heart. Radish is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.
