Story
Charles was abandoned by his owner. He has been with the shelter a lot longer than most cats because he has a strong personality. Being abandoned in a too small carrier, he now has a fear of carriers and can be fearful when anyone reaches over his head. Charles is in need of people able to look past the fact that he is a domestic cat who may never be a cuddler. It may have to be enough to his new family that he will always be grateful to just have a safe home. Thank you for your interest in adopting! If you think the animal in this profile might be a good fit for your home and would like to meet them, here's how! !. Go to our website at wacshelter.com. 2. All cats are spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV negative unless otherwise indicated. All are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. Story
Calyssa was rescued from a hoarder's house once it was condemned. This 4 month old is super playful with other cats, and will reach out to the other cats in the shelter. Calyssa can be a little more reserved with people, and may not be best suited in an active home. Her best placement would be with another playful cat in the home. Thank you for your interest in adopting! If you think the animal in this profile might be a good fit for your home and would like to meet them, here's how! !. Go to our website at wacshelter.com. 2. Story
Meet CLAUDIA Claudia was taken in by animal control officers after she'd been found by a resident. She was not doing very well, an adult cat weighing less than 5 pounds due to an intestinal parasite causing diarrhea. She also had a wounded paw pad. Claudia was unable to keep herself at a normal weight. She was no longer interested in keeping herself groomed and she wasn't very interested in eating anymore. Local nonprofit Pound Pals Downriver secured a medical evaluation the day she arrived. If you've ever had an upset stomach, you can only imagine how Claudia felt. Despite feeling miserable, she has always been a very sweet and affectionate cat. Even when she barely had the energy to stand, she would always greet volunteers in the morning. Claudia is on the road to recovery and gaining weight. Her diarrhea is becoming better each day. While Claudia isn't ready to leave the shelter yet, we are accepting online applications for her (through wacshelter.com) so he has a responsible home to go to when it's time. All cats are spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV negative unless otherwise indicated. And all are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. Our adoption fee for felines is $65. Interested in meeting or adopting Claudia?
