Story
Nala is equal parts sweet and feisty. She’s the perfect sidekick and loves to be a part of the action. Having breakfast? She’ll join you in the extra chair. Cleaning up? She’ll follow you from room to room (and try to convince you into making a pit stop at her food bowl). Time for bed? She’ll make herself cozy next to you and give the sweetest purrs. She is chatty and meows to let you know what she’s thinking. She loves to play and is overall good with kids. In our household with three young children (ages 4, 4, and 1) and multiple pets, she made some quick friends with our dog and kids but had mixed success with our cats, making us wonder if she has more experience in homes with dogs than cats. Unlike some cats who more readily hide when overwhelmed, in our sometimes loud and busy home we occasionally needed to encourage Nala to take a break from the action and move into her own space, which she has done willingly. Upon coming to rescue, Nala was discovered to have bladder stones which dissolved when started on a prescription diet. Nala will require lifelong adherence to this prescription diet in her forever home to keep her healthy and feeling good. Seeing Nala’s true self come through once on the right food plan and feeling better has brought our family so much joy. She is a beautiful and funny girl with so much personality. She will be a wonderful pet for her forever family.

Story
Hi, I’m Earl. I was living outside, until I was trapped by some nice ladies, and brought inside. It’s pretty tough out there, fending for yourself, I was kind of a mess. My sores are all healed, thanks to the great vet team at Coco’s . I even needed to take pills for a short period of time. I was really a champ at taking my medicine, I’m easy peasy. When they brought me inside, they discovered I was social, sweet and very handsome. Some things you might want to know about me. I don’t have a tail, I can be a little vocal, especially in new situations. I am a love bug, I like to be pet, I would love to sit on your lap, that will get my motor going for sure. I’m a pretty chill guy. I kind of mind my own business, so I think I can get along with everyone with the right introduction. I am living in a house with both cats and dogs. For sure, it’s never dull here. My FM says I’m a great cat with an awesome personality.

Story
Meet Lilibet or Mama Lili as we like to call her. Lili came to rescue with her 5 young kittens. She has been a wonderful momma but now she is finally getting her time to shine as a kitty of her own. Lili is coming around more and more every day but she is still a little nervous about fast unexpected movements. Lili does well with other cats and our dogs. As of recently she enjoys coming out of her comfort spot to rub on my legs to get pet. Lili does well with my kids, when they are running, she would rather be sitting back and watching instead of getting involved. Lili would thrive in a home environment that is patient and willing to let her take the decompression time she needs. Once that happens she will be the absolute perfect kitty!

Story
Tookins is SUCH a sweet and loving girl! She's been friendly and social since the moment I brought her home. She likes to lay on me on the couch and sleeps next to me in bed. Also, she often touches my face so sweetly with her paw and it melts my heart. Tookins has beautiful, unique markings and very soft fur. She also does well riding in the car in a kennel. Tookins plays with toys a bit. One of her favorites is the round track with the ball and the scratching mat inside. She's also been a hoot to watch as she bats around a strip of fleece or a small stuffed mouse. Lately she's been getting the zoomies from time to time which is also pretty fun to watch! She has done well with the small dogs in the house. They don't snuggle or play much, but they're all very comfortable around each other. I also had a very shy foster kitten for a couple weeks at the start. The kitten loved Tookins, but it took her much of the time to warm up to the kitten. She preferred to roam the house with the dogs, although towards the end I'd find her laying on the futon next to the catio (where the kitten was). Tookins is carrying some extra weight, so I'm careful about measuring her food and avoiding extra treats. Our vet team also found that she has a heart murmur and some slightly abnormally-formed kidneys. Luckily both issues are very mild at the moment and not causing any problems or needing medication. However, her kidneys may put her at a higher risk for developing early renal disease. She'll need bloodwork and a urinalysis done every 6 months to monitor her kidneys so any changes can be caught and addressed right away. She'll also need yearly echocardiograms to monitor her heart, and again catch any issues early on. We understand that not all families will feel comfortable committing to these regular tests for the duration of her life, and that's ok. I know there's a perfect family out there for her that will, and I'm happy to keep loving on her till we find them. She's only two years old and deserves the best chance we can give her at a long and healthy life! Tookins- has 2 congenital abnormalities to make sure are noted. -Mild tricuspid valve insufficiency -Mild renal dysplasia She does not need any medications or special diets at this time. She should have her heart echoed again in 1 year, and possibly yearly after that. She should also have her kidney values and a urine checked every 6 months to monitor her kidneys as she is at risk for developing renal disease with her kidneys being abnormal.

Story
Tux is a true gentleman. A wonderful lap cat for a calm environment. He isn't demanding - doesn't meow or make a fuss, just gives some head bunts, then snuggles up and purrs and purrs and purrs. He also makes the cutest little chirpy meow sound. Lately Tux has started showing me his quite impressive belly and bunny kicking for no apparent reason. I have not fallen for it, though, as I suspect it’s a cuteness trap. He is declawed in front, but could still use his pointy little teeth if boundaries were crossed. Tux will make a wonderful bed warmer. He loves to crawl under the covers to take a nap. “Where’s Tux?” He’s probably that lump on the bed. He was living with a dog, but we have not finished introducing him to ours. He doesn’t seem bothered too much by them barking in the distance, but hissing and growling ensue when they approach the gate across his door. He does calm eventually if they just lay down (they want to be by mom). Same with our cats. We currently have him on a diet of mostly wet food with a couple tablespoons of water mixed in (2 3-oz cans per day). It is higher protein and lower carb than dry food. He is a chonky boy, with a couple pounds to lose. He does also get a little dry food to keep his teeth clean.

Story
Venus arrived at GGOH with her litter mates after their momma arrived here at GGOH and we found her to be pregnant. Venus is one of our more challenging cats - she's shy and nervous around us humans but we know that she has it in her to be sweet and loving - it will just take time and patience. Due to her current social skills, our recommendation is that she not go to a home where there are young children - young ones would definitely not understand her. Over time, and once she is familiar with her new life and home, she may relinquish and be acceptable of being held (or may not), but we absolutely don't want her new life to start off on the wrong foot so please only inquire about her if you are okay with her personality type and can accept her for who she is. She's great with other cats and would make a wonderful companion to a perhaps lonely feline. Also of mention is that Venus is one of our FIP kitten warriors - she battled the beast and won. We can give you a more detailed picture of what her treatment was when you visit but just let it be known, she has a long worry-free life ahead of her. We don't like to dwell on this aspect of her care too much, but we also like to be up-front about it as we're not the kind of rescue that withholds or hides information from our prospective adopters. Everything is laid on the table so you can make an informed decision. Venus's DOB is 7/23/19. As we've said, Venus is one of our more challenging cats and even though she's had a few bumps in the road, we 100% believe she is worthy of love and acceptance and know her special someone is out there somewhere - could it be you? If you're interested in meeting Venus, we ask that you first visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and then, to schedule an on-site appointment. www.ggohinc.com

Story
Rita is a shy young lady who came to us from a farm where an over-population problem was imminent if help wasn't received soon. She is a curious cat, taking her time to observe new situations before approaching and investigating. She accepts pets and affection as long as you go slow; she's learning to trust and has been progressing just as we had hoped she would. Rita would be a great addition to any home as long as the new family is willing to give her time and space to acclimate at her pace. Her ideal setting, however, would be with one individual that could give her consistent attention and one where the home is somewhat quiet. She does great with other cats. Dogs are unknown as we've only observed her watching them from a comfortable distance. She loves treats - they are the key to heart! Rita really needs someone to reach out to her and let her know that she is loved and it's okay to go slow. Could that someone be you? Rita's DOB is approx. 3/24/2020. (P.S. - The photos of Rita are of her sitting in one of our internal room windows waiting for treats to be passed through to her. It's her thing. She really loves her treats!) If you'd like to meet Rita, hop over to our website @ www.ggohinc.com to review our adoption process and requirements and then schedule an appointment for a visit.

Story
Burt joined the GGOH family after we were contacted by another rescue that was working on a farm cat over-population project - with so many in need, we couldn't say "no". Burt is a shy fella, but gentle and receptive to human attention - what he needs most is a person/family that can be consistent with their interactions with him yet give him time and space (on his terms) to adjust to a new home and environment. Burt hasn't really been around children as he tends to watch visitors from a distance but with his gentle nature, we suspect he would do fine with children over the age of 5. Well-behaved dogs don't seem to phase Burt and is totally fine with other cats. Burt came to GGOH with his siblings, Ernie, Rita & Jake. Burt's DOB is approx. 3/24/2020. (Side note, Burt's not-so-happy face is just the way this fella looks and we think it's kind of cute!) If you'd like to meet Burt to consider him for adoption, please jump to our website (www.ggohinc.com) to review our adoption policies and process and to schedule an appointment for an on-site visit.

Story
Gus is a very lovable cat. He loves to be pet and loves attention, the more the better. He loves to sleep on or in just about everything. He especially loves to sleep on his human. Unfortunately his human has developed allergies to him and can no longer keep him. Gus is afraid of dogs. He has never lived with children but does ok when the grandchildren come to visit. He usually hides when the vacuum is running. Gus loves catnip toys and glitter balls. Gus is a pretty mellow guy as long as he gets his two meals a day, LOTS of love and pets, a nice warm bed- preferably with a human-and a quiet, orderly household. He has access to a cat tower with scratching posts. He has never scratched the furniture. Gus is quite the sweetheart who may be a little shy at first but warms up to people quickly.
