Story
Tookins is SUCH a sweet and loving girl! She's been friendly and social since the moment I brought her home. She likes to lay on me on the couch and sleeps next to me in bed. Also, she often touches my face so sweetly with her paw and it melts my heart. Tookins has beautiful, unique markings and very soft fur. She also does well riding in the car in a kennel. Tookins plays with toys a bit. One of her favorites is the round track with the ball and the scratching mat inside. She's also been a hoot to watch as she bats around a strip of fleece or a small stuffed mouse. Lately she's been getting the zoomies from time to time which is also pretty fun to watch! She has done well with the small dogs in the house. They don't snuggle or play much, but they're all very comfortable around each other. I also had a very shy foster kitten for a couple weeks at the start. The kitten loved Tookins, but it took her much of the time to warm up to the kitten. She preferred to roam the house with the dogs, although towards the end I'd find her laying on the futon next to the catio (where the kitten was). Tookins is carrying some extra weight, so I'm careful about measuring her food and avoiding extra treats. Our vet team also found that she has a heart murmur and some slightly abnormally-formed kidneys. Luckily both issues are very mild at the moment and not causing any problems or needing medication. However, her kidneys may put her at a higher risk for developing early renal disease. She'll need bloodwork and a urinalysis done every 6 months to monitor her kidneys so any changes can be caught and addressed right away. She'll also need yearly echocardiograms to monitor her heart, and again catch any issues early on. We understand that not all families will feel comfortable committing to these regular tests for the duration of her life, and that's ok. I know there's a perfect family out there for her that will, and I'm happy to keep loving on her till we find them. She's only two years old and deserves the best chance we can give her at a long and healthy life! Tookins- has 2 congenital abnormalities to make sure are noted. -Mild tricuspid valve insufficiency -Mild renal dysplasia She does not need any medications or special diets at this time. She should have her heart echoed again in 1 year, and possibly yearly after that. She should also have her kidney values and a urine checked every 6 months to monitor her kidneys as she is at risk for developing renal disease with her kidneys being abnormal.

Story
History and a Note from the Foster: Amaru was born outside in Spring 2025 with his brothers Griffin and Bagheera, and caught and brought inside in November 2025. He's been staying in foster care with his brothers since. A very proud recipient of the one brain cell, Amaru is an orange cat through and through. He is the brave and adventurous one of the three, happy to explore any new area presented to him. He and his brothers were fed outside by neighbors since birth, and he was the most socialized of the three. He loves being close to people and is the most trusting. He is a power nudger and pro face booper. He will come when he's called, and is getting more comfortable being held, and even carried like a baby. He is perfectly trained with the litter box and has not destroyed anything in the house. He has however chased after the resident cats a few times. So if his new home has other cats they will need a slow introduction. He loves his brothers though, and would love to go to a home with one of them. If he is the only cat of the house he will need a lot of attention and stimulation so he doesn't get lonely and bored. He even co existed pretty well with a friend's small dog who was staying over the holidays. He is just a very active, fun, sweet boy who needs lots of playtime. He will give any new toy a try, and has lots of opinions and stories to share. His foster mom has conversations with him and calls him the squeak squeaker because of his cute little squeaky meows. Amaru is SUCH a great cat overall. For having been born a stray, he is a dream. Any new home will be lucky to have him.

Story
History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own! A note from the foster:‍ Meet our little miracle kitty! When Arnie first came to us, she was quiet but very affectionate. After a short time, she became withdrawn and stopped wanting to eat. Thankfully we had an appointment with the amazing vet team at Coco’s. Her bloodwork revealed just how sick she really was — but with time, medication, and lots of love, Arnie made a full recovery. She’s feeling great now and isn’t on any medication. Today, Arnie is back to being a loving, snuggly girl. She’s not quite a lap cat yet, but she likes to nap with all four paws resting on us — her way of staying close. She has wonderful manners, although while she was sick we absolutely spoiled her…we helped her up to drink from the kitchen sink. Arnie got anything she wanted! Arnie would do best as the only pet in her new home. She was polite with our resident cats at first, but it became clear she prefers to be the center of attention. Saying goodbye to Arnie will be so hard — but she has been through so much, and she truly deserves the very best forever home.
