Story
I adopted Bella from the Des Moines, Iowa ARL. She started as a kitten in Iowa State University's vet clinic. She is de-clawed on all 4 paws which makes her sensitive to clay litter. Currently we use cornmeal litter but something even softer may be better. We are re-homing due to a new and active toddler in the home. Kitty has not taken to her well and is going potty outside the litter box as a sign of defiance. Otherwise she is a sweet cat that likes to cuddle in her older age. She would probably prefer to be the only animal in the home but she gets along with other dogs fine. As long as they leave her be, she is fine. She is very food and milk motivated.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.//     Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.org Adoption Fee $50.00 plus tax and fee. I’m just a girl, looking for a family, asking them to love me. In return, I will love you too. I am affectionate and mellow. I enjoy head and chin scratches and cuddles. I would love to find a family willing to share the bed with me and accept my age and all my fluffiness. I do have one flaw but please keep an open mind; I do not use a litter box BUT I have learned to use pee pads for my #1, if you don’t believe me, check out my video. As for my #2’s, it’s a 50/50 whether I use the pee pads or right next to the pee pads.    https://youtu.be/unI4CmB0xDk     Please feel free to fill out an ADOPTION APPLICATION by clicking on the ADOPT button below. Thank you!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   or     *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.//     Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.org Adoption Fee $150 plus tax  Eight-Ball is an amazing cat with a wonderful personality - his foster mom is very much obsessed with him! He got hit by a car almost a year ago that resulted in painful abscesses and  disfigured front legs. He has since completely recovered from the abscesses and doesn’t let his wonky front legs slow him down one bit! He LOVES to play and is always down to run after a toy or bat at a string. He also likes to chase, wrestle, and snuggle with his cat siblings. Eight-Ball’s perfect home would be with another cat or two that is active and likes to play and a home without dogs. He does well with respectful children.   He loves to be part of the action and even tho he doesn’t like to snuggle or be picked up, he wants to always be in the same room as you, often in the chair next to you or on the bed with you. He is a big boy that is very talkative and has a surprising but adorable chirp for a meow. He likes to be pet all over and enjoys a good brushing.   Unfortunately Eight-Ball’s injuries cannot be fixed with surgery so he is on daily supplements and medication to help delay arthritis and keep him comfortable for as long as possible. It is also imperative to keep him at a lean weight to avoid excess stress on his front leg joints so he is on a special weight-management food to maintain his 12 pound figure. Normal food can be given but the volume will be much smaller and he will likely complain!   Eight-Ball’s orthopedic issues will likely progress and years down the road may end up causing him discomfort. It is possible that his quality of life may decline at a younger age than most and euthanasia may be recommended to prevent suffering. But Eight-Ball isn’t worried about that and is having a BLAST living life to the fullest!    Eight-Ball is looking for a special owner that is able to financially support his special needs and give him the love and attention he deserves. Currently Eight-Ball’s monthly medication, supplement, and food costs around $70 per month.        Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process. She has the softest meow and is very skittish when there is sudden movement or loud noises. She does let you pet her if you hold out your hand and let her make contact. Then you can give her neck scratches and back rubs. When she is comfortable, tummy rubs. She has handled the exposure to dogs quite well and rubs against them if she is in the mood. She willcome out to say hi during feeding time and does very well with the litter box. She currently has freereign to walk around the house and has started to explore cautiously. She does not like getting intothe pet carrier, but calms down immediately once inside. The vets were able to work with herwithout any issues.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   or     *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.//     Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.org Adoption Fee: $250 plus taxJake was the smallest out of the litter and can be a little shy with new experiences. He has the sweetest little face and the cutest little meow. He likes to check what is happening and then jump in to play with his brothers.   He likes to talk to you when he needs something - food, pets, toy, walk over your keyboard, etc. Feather toys are his favorite and will really get into the chase. He is just as happy sitting with you and catching a piece of string. Some mornings, he decides he needs to capture his tail and spin in circles. Be aware that he will stalk your toes in the morning when he thinks you are awake! Jake has socialized with other adult cats and tolerates the small dogs' kisses when they say hi.  His current food is Purina Kitten kibble, Fancy Feast soft food, and he sneaks into the Iams In House kibble as well. The first set of booster shots and neutered are completed with the next shots planned later in August.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   or     *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.
