Story
Hello, I am Blake, a 1-year-old, neutered male French Bulldog / Terrier mix who currently weighs 26 pounds. I am an active fellow that is true to my breed; I like to do everything from greeting people and dogs to playing in the yard with a gung-ho attitude. I can't wait to head on home with my new family and show them how spunky and fun I can really be. I would love to find a family that is familiar with Frenchies like me, including our medical needs. If I sound like the perfect little addition to your family come on in with the whole family and any resident dogs to meet me.  Blake AID# A973443Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). She is equal parts snuggly companion and adventure scout, and she is so ready to find a home that delights in her big personality wrapped in a compact, wiggly package.   Daily Rhythm   Potpourri keeps a gentle, predictable schedule that suits her well. Her mornings begin between 8:00 and 8:30 with a walk and potty break, followed by breakfast. She settles into a cozy routine afterward, usually snoozing on her bed nearby while her foster works from home. A mid-afternoon potty break happens around 2:00, complete with a treat. She heads out for another walk in the early evening between 6:00 and 6:30, has dinner at 6:30, and enjoys one last potty break at 9:30. She is crate-trained and sleeps peacefully in her crate at night when her foster is nearby.   Personality   Potpourri is a heartfelt mix of tenderness and boldness. She began her foster stay uncertain, but now she opens the door to each day with lifted ears and bright enthusiasm. She loves being outside, loves having somewhere to go, and seems to take particular joy in the moment she realizes “a new adventure is happening.”   She is a cuddler through and through. She leans her whole body into affection and will melt into a warm pile of Frenchie devotion when you pet her. She is also a velcro dog, happiest when she can be near her person. That said, she understands boundaries: tell her “bed” and she’ll settle when you need the space.   Indoors, she sleeps deeply and often, but the moment her foster stands up or heads toward the kitchen or door, she springs to life, ready to join in.   She’s learning commands quickly. “Down” is coming along well, and she’s practicing “sit” for leashing up, though her excitement to go outside sometimes gets the better of her.   With Other Dogs   Potpourri has done well with some dogs while off-leash but she can be too much for smaller dogs, so she's best suited to be the only dog in the home or to live with dogs larger than her.  She has some leash reactivity when out on walks, so she'll need a savvy adopter who can work with her on this challenge.   Energy & Play   She has bursts of enthusiasm in which she jumps, plays, or dives into a chew toy with gusto. But after five to ten minutes, she flops into her signature lounge mode. She loves a comfortable bed, a blanket pile, and a quiet room where she can nap away the afternoon.   Walking Style   Potpourri walks daily and does so with determination. Her gait is full of purpose at the beginning, but by the forty-minute mark she is visibly ready to head home. She pulls when she sees other dogs but otherwise focuses on sniffing, exploring, and taking in the world around her.   House Training & Crate Habits   She is fully housetrained and crate-trained. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night when she can see her foster, and she goes in willingly when it’s part of the bedtime routine.   Being left alone is harder for her. In the crate, she will cry or howl intermittently but remains safe. Her adopter will want to work on alone-time training with her.   What Makes Her Special   Potpourri is a queen in all the best ways. Confident, expressive, independent when she wants to be, and devoted when she chooses you. She adores snuggling under blankets as much as she adores stepping out the door for the next adventure. She is a little boss lady with a big heart.   A Favorite Foster Moment   Her foster loves the way she leans her whole body into pets, as if she’s handing over every ounce of trust at once. One moment she is bounding with excitement, ears forward, ready to take on the world; the next, she is snoring in a nest of blankets as if adventures were just a pleasant dream.   Potpourri brings character, charm, and a tender, expressive spirit into every room she enters. She’s a little queen looking for a family who will love her wide-open heart and join her on both the small and big adventures ahead.December 21, 2025, 9:53 pm

Story
Adopt Barbie! Hi, I’m Barbie! The vet thinks I’m about 4 y/o. I am a vocal high-energy 17lb. Frenchie with separation anxiety. I had a neglectful past and suffered from Demodex mange and lost almost all my fur, but look at me now! Due to abandonment issues, I need someone that works from home or can take me to work. It’s not enough that I see you. I am ok to be crated for a few hours. I need a house with a fenced in yard (no apartments as I have a very loud voice), another non-dominant dog companion to cuddle and play with, and absolutely no cats! I will say that even with a sibling, you will be my main focus as I would like to be your shadow, run all your errands with you, and nibble on your fingers and toes (I’m very gentle). I am spayed, love all toys, car rides, to be pet and loved, and am food/treat motivated. Potty training has gone well. If you think I could make a great addition to your family, please apply to adopt me! A breed savvy person would be best for me. Frenchies have a lot of issues and my anxiety is one of them! I love to be with you and I want somebody that has time for me. I will be your best pal! Located in El Sobrante caSeptember 2, 2025, 9:02 am

I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereBubba Gump is an 8-year-old, 28-pound Frenchie mix who loves to give little hugs when he’s feeling especially affectionate. Once a stray, Bubba has settled beautifully in his foster home. He enjoys playing with his toys, chewing on his favorite bone, and going on leisurely walks. Treats are a big motivator for him, and he already knows “sit,” “come here,” and “go to your bed.” When it comes to other dogs, Bubba is curious and may pull toward them, but he typically loses interest once he walks past. In the shelter, he showed an independent streak, so while he could do well with a compatible, respectful canine friend, he may also be happiest as your one-and-only. Bubba does have chronic skin and ear conditions common for his breed, and he’ll need adopters prepared for ongoing care and associated veterinary costs. If you’re looking for a mellow, cuddly companion with adorable quirks and a loyal, loving nature, Bubba Gump is ready to wiggle into your world and brighten every day. Click here to learn how to adopt and submit your adoption questionnaire.December 10, 2025, 3:06 pm

Story
Linus is part of Charlie Brown Litter. Holly mom is French Bull Dog /Boston Terrier mix. 2/16/24 DNA test results: Dad was a Cattle Dog 40% and 9% Border Collie. They should be medium size adults and smart. Holly was abandoned at a distant shelter and was very pregnant. Linus' DOB: 12/1/23. Once we rescued Holly and she arrived at her foster home within 2 hours she went into labor and gave birth to 5 puppies. 2 girls and 3 boys. Whew! Just in time. All the pups and mom did great at their foster home. Home raised healthy lovable and social. The 5 pups are now learning at their next foster home for puppy training. All are playful snuggly and lovable. We do not know what they are mixed with. They seem larger than Frenchie pups and have tails. We will start to review applications Jan 20th. Puppies will be 8 weeks old on Jan. 27th and will get their first vaccinations and deworm. Need home with attached backyard. More info. to come on each puppy's personality. 1/24/24 Update: The 3 boys are fairly similar all playful and slower than the girls. Linus and Snoopy are a little more timid but get more playful when riled up by Brody. All love attention and to be held. They all did very well getting their first shots and these puppies are extremely smart and well behaved for such young puppies. They are learning sit and not to bite and are all doing very very well. They will make wonderful family pets for someone. Their temperament is fantastic gentle playful and sweet. 2/9/24 Update 10 weeks old: Patty is definitely the smallest with smallest paws. Snoopy and Linus are about the same size 12 pounds and Patty is 10 lbs.. I think they will be medium sized dogs. Snoopy and Linus are slower and calmer. Patty is spunky and more independent and curious and a little more Frenchie personality . All learning crate training. Few accidents on pee pads now. They will hold to go out to backyard for potty biz. 3/1/25 Update: Linus is older kid friendly. He loves to get cuddles and loves belly rubs. He poops and pees in backyard. He likes to play with his brother Charlie. They enjoy running and playing with each other. He likes to go for a walk. He is trained to be in a crate to sleep. Able to understand instructions: come sit walk wait walk with me. In English and Hindi. Linus loves all varieties of dog friendly fruits and vegetables. Loves long drives. Basically he just loves to stay with family. Need experienced guardian to guide him. 5/2/25 Update: Linus needs and wants routine home. He gets very nervous with change. At his foster boarding home and trainer after a day or two he is great with large dogs and they run/play. However he is reactive to new incoming dogs into their home. He does fine on walks and did fine at our showcases with new people and other dogs. 7/11/25 Update: Linus needs a new foster home due to previous foster home's travels. He is now in a boarding/training foster home as we search for adopter or foster to adopter. He is smart and learning all commands. He is social friendly and great with all dogs and people. Lovable and very sweet once he adjusts. Loves running and playing with the adult big dogs and teen pups. Prefers to have someone around. Did great with vet exam and everyone adores him. CATS: Tama vet has an office cat that has walked around him and he didn’t seem to care.September 8, 2025, 12:37 am
