Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $750   Born on January 8th to the ever-devoted Mama Punctuation (affectionately known as Punky), the Punctuation puppies are now 8 weeks old and ready to start writing the next chapter of their lives with families of their very own. Raised in a loving foster home from the very beginning, these pups have had the best possible start— plenty of structure, socialization, and affection. Currently weighing between 6 and 8 pounds, they are expected to grow a bit larger than their Brussels Griffon mama. While the rescue originally suspected another Brussels named Boyfriend might be their father, their size suggests that dad was likely a somewhat bigger mystery guest. Whatever the mix may be, one thing is certain: these puppies inherited their mama’s charm, personality, and zest for life.       The Punctuation pups have settled into a wonderfully predictable daily routine in foster care. Mornings start quietly, but the moment their foster family enters the puppy area, the entire crew springs to life with excitement. Around 7:00–7:30 a.m., the puppies tumble out of their pen for their first potty break and a burst of morning playtime. Breakfast follows shortly after, and then the pups either relax back in their x-pen while mama heads out for her walk or enjoy more outdoor playtime in the backyard.       Like most growing puppies, they operate in enthusiastic bursts of energy followed by dramatic group naps. After about an hour of running, wrestling, and exploring outside, the entire gang collapses into a heap on the dog beds for a well-earned nap. Lunch arrives around 1:00 p.m., followed by more playtime and exploration before a quiet afternoon rest. Around 5:00 p.m., the puppies are back in action again for another lively play session before dinner at 6:30 p.m. By 7:00 p.m., they settle back into their x-pen, with one final potty outing before lights out at 9:30. Impressively, the puppies sleep quietly through the night.       Each puppy already has a personality that shines through, though like most young litters, they share many of the same joyful traits: curiosity, playfulness, and a deep love of both food and fun.       Comma is the undeniable leader of the pack and the boldest, most confident puppy in the bunch. She’s a little ringleader with plenty of spunk and personality. Comma loves to wrestle, play tug-of-war, and generally keep the action going, and she’s not shy about trying to boss everyone around— including her mama, who occasionally reminds her who’s really in charge. After she’s had a chance to burn off that initial burst of energy, Comma has a softer side too. With a full belly and some playtime behind her, she’s happy to settle down and relax with her family. While she enjoys being held and giving kisses, she also has an independent streak and likes to explore her surroundings and see what’s going on.       Hyphen shares some of Comma’s adventurous spirit and is often right in the middle of the fun during playtime. She happily keeps up with her siblings and loves to romp and wrestle, but Hyphen also has a wonderfully mellow side. After the morning excitement or an active play session, she’s content to slow things down and soak up the quiet moments. She especially enjoys snuggling up with her siblings, often piling right on top of the puppy group to get cozy. Hyphen also loves being held and is perfectly happy to relax in someone’s arms. Whether she’s basking in a sunny spot or cuddling with her littermates, she’s a lovely mix of playful energy and calm affection.       Exclamation Point— affectionately known as Pointy— is the sweet, gentle observer of the group. While he certainly enjoys playing with his siblings and batting around toys, he’s often just as happy to sit back and watch the world around him like a little hawk perched on lookout. Pointy has recently discovered how wonderful it is to be held and cuddled, and he’s quickly becoming quite the snuggle bug. Pick him up and you’ll likely be rewarded with lots of kisses and a happy little nuzzle into your neck. Of the three puppies, Pointy is the most easygoing and relaxed, with a naturally calm demeanor that will likely grow into an excellent cuddle companion as he gets older.   Ampersand, aka Amp, is the laid-back observer of the group. While the others may be wrestling or chasing toys, Amp often takes a moment to wander off and investigate something interesting nearby. He has a relaxed, mellow personality and a charmingly goofy look that reminds his foster family of a tiny Ewok— especially when he runs. Amp is happy to play with his siblings and the doodle puppy, but he’s just as content exploring his surroundings or curling up for cuddles. He and Pointy are the most likely to settle happily on a lap for some quiet affection.       All of the puppies are wonderfully social and have been raised around both people and other dogs. They get very excited whenever they see their foster family or their canine playmate and greet everyone with wagging tails and eager curiosity. None of the pups are shy or timid— they all enjoy human attention and affection, even from strangers. They'll greet you with a wagging tail and give little puppy kisses. Puppy breath: is there anything better??       Toys are a favorite pastime for the whole group, especially games of tug-of-war. They are enthusiastic chewers, as most puppies are, and are provided with plenty of appropriate chew toys to keep them busy.       Like most puppies their age, the Punctuation pups are curious, adventurous, and always ready to explore something new. They run, play, wrestle, and investigate the world around them with endless enthusiasm. They also share one universal trait: they absolutely love food and never miss a mealtime. The photographer pulled out some Pupperoni for their photo shoot and all four were obsessed! They gobbled up every bite and then went searching for crumbs. They'd all be great at puzzle toys and 'find it' games.       These puppies will thrive in homes ready for the joyful chaos and commitment that comes with raising a young dog. They will benefit from continued structure, socialization, training, and plenty of playtime as they grow into well-rounded companions.       With their expressive faces, big personalities, and affectionate hearts, the Punctuation puppies are sure to bring laughter, love, and a whole lot of punctuation to their future families’ lives. Each one has their own unique style—whether bold like Comma, adventurous like Hyphen, gentle like Pointy, or mellow like Amp—but every single one is ready to make a lasting impression in the perfect forever home.March 11, 2026, 4:26 pm

Story
Linus is part of Charlie Brown Litter. Holly mom is French Bull Dog /Boston Terrier mix. 2/16/24 DNA test results: Dad was a Cattle Dog 40% and 9% Border Collie. They should be medium size adults and smart. Holly was abandoned at a distant shelter and was very pregnant. Linus' DOB: 12/1/23. Once we rescued Holly and she arrived at her foster home within 2 hours she went into labor and gave birth to 5 puppies. 2 girls and 3 boys. Whew! Just in time. All the pups and mom did great at their foster home. Home raised healthy lovable and social. The 5 pups are now learning at their next foster home for puppy training. All are playful snuggly and lovable. We do not know what they are mixed with. They seem larger than Frenchie pups and have tails. We will start to review applications Jan 20th. Puppies will be 8 weeks old on Jan. 27th and will get their first vaccinations and deworm. Need home with attached backyard. More info. to come on each puppy's personality. 1/24/24 Update: The 3 boys are fairly similar all playful and slower than the girls. Linus and Snoopy are a little more timid but get more playful when riled up by Brody. All love attention and to be held. They all did very well getting their first shots and these puppies are extremely smart and well behaved for such young puppies. They are learning sit and not to bite and are all doing very very well. They will make wonderful family pets for someone. Their temperament is fantastic gentle playful and sweet. 2/9/24 Update 10 weeks old: Patty is definitely the smallest with smallest paws. Snoopy and Linus are about the same size 12 pounds and Patty is 10 lbs.. I think they will be medium sized dogs. Snoopy and Linus are slower and calmer. Patty is spunky and more independent and curious and a little more Frenchie personality . All learning crate training. Few accidents on pee pads now. They will hold to go out to backyard for potty biz. 3/1/25 Update: Linus is older kid friendly. He loves to get cuddles and loves belly rubs. He poops and pees in backyard. He likes to play with his brother Charlie. They enjoy running and playing with each other. He likes to go for a walk. He is trained to be in a crate to sleep. Able to understand instructions: come sit walk wait walk with me. In English and Hindi. Linus loves all varieties of dog friendly fruits and vegetables. Loves long drives. Basically he just loves to stay with family. Need experienced guardian to guide him. 5/2/25 Update: Linus needs and wants routine home. He gets very nervous with change. At his foster boarding home and trainer after a day or two he is great with large dogs and they run/play. However he is reactive to new incoming dogs into their home. He does fine on walks and did fine at our showcases with new people and other dogs. 7/11/25 Update: Linus needs a new foster home due to previous foster home's travels. He is now in a boarding/training foster home as we search for adopter or foster to adopter. He is smart and learning all commands. He is social friendly and great with all dogs and people. Lovable and very sweet once he adjusts. Loves running and playing with the adult big dogs and teen pups. Prefers to have someone around. Did great with vet exam and everyone adores him. CATS: Tama vet has an office cat that has walked around him and he didn’t seem to care.March 7, 2026, 12:25 pm

Story
Hi everyone! My name is Fiona and I am a super energetic pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. I’m ready to take on the world, one zoomie at a time! I’ve got plenty of energy to burn, so I’m looking for an active family who loves to play, run, and maybe even teach me some new tricks. I might need a little extra help with training (I`m still learning the ropes!), but with some patience and a lot of love, I know I can be the best pup ever! I promise, I’ll keep you laughing, I’ll keep you on your toes, and I’ll always be there for cuddles after a big play session. If you`re ready to have fun, I’m ready to bring the joy! Let`s make some memories together. For more information contact the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA) at 408-764-0344 or visit www.svaca.com.

Story
Adopt Barbie! Hi, I’m Barbie! The vet thinks I’m about 4 y/o. I am a vocal high-energy 17lb. Frenchie with separation anxiety. I had a neglectful past and suffered from Demodex mange and lost almost all my fur, but look at me now! Due to abandonment issues, I need someone that works from home or can take me to work. It’s not enough that I see you. I am ok to be crated for a few hours. I need a house with a fenced in yard (no apartments as I have a very loud voice), another non-dominant dog companion to cuddle and play with, and absolutely no cats! I will say that even with a sibling, you will be my main focus as I would like to be your shadow, run all your errands with you, and nibble on your fingers and toes (I’m very gentle). I am spayed, love all toys, car rides, to be pet and loved, and am food/treat motivated. Potty training has gone well. If you think I could make a great addition to your family, please apply to adopt me! A breed savvy person would be best for me. Frenchies have a lot of issues and my anxiety is one of them! I love to be with you and I want somebody that has time for me. I will be your best pal! Located in El Sobrante caMarch 8, 2026, 12:21 am
