Shy but friendly: He greets new people politely with a gentle sniff of the hand, then warms up with a subtle butt wiggle once he feels safe. Smart and food-motivated: Cardigan often offers a perfect sit all on his own and takes treats very gently. Engaging and eager: When called, he trots right over and happily practices his sits — sometimes even popping up to paw at your hands for his reward. Once a stray, Bubba has settled beautifully in his foster home. He enjoys playing with his toys, chewing on his favorite bone, and going on leisurely walks. Treats are a big motivator for him, and he already knows “sit,” “come here,” and “go to your bed.” When it comes to other dogs, Bubba is curious and may pull toward them, but he typically loses interest once he walks past. In the shelter, he showed an independent streak, so while he could do well with a compatible, respectful canine friend, he may also be happiest as your one-and-only. Bubba does have chronic skin and ear conditions common for his breed, and he’ll need adopters prepared for ongoing care and associated veterinary costs. He came in as a stray so he was skinny and has a few scars, but you would never know from how much he loves people. Maraschino wants to say hi to everyone, sit on your lap, and cuddle up for naps. You can always hear his happy little frenchie grunt! Maraschino wants to please and is very food motivated, and he will need a little work on his potty training and pulling on the leash. He sleeps through the night in his crate. Maraschino is very friendly and interested in other dogs! He wants to get right up in their business to sniff and play. Learn more hereLacroix is a 4-year-old, 32-pound Frenchie mix with a big personality packed into a compact, adorable body. Sweet and feisty, Lacroix loves human attention and is happiest soaking up pets, people-watching, or curling up for a snuggle. This curious boy is very interested in other dogs and can be vocal and excitable on leash. Volunteers have learned he can be persuaded with treats when he has strong opinions about where he'd like to go. Lacroix arrived with a neurologic condition called IVDD. He's made wonderful progress, and is now walking independently and enjoying his outings. Adopters should be prepared for activity restrictions and ongoing vet care to keep him feeling his best. This charming pup will thrive in a home ready to support his medical needs and help him channel his enthusiasm.
