Once a stray, Bubba has settled beautifully in his foster home. He enjoys playing with his toys, chewing on his favorite bone, and going on leisurely walks. Treats are a big motivator for him, and he already knows “sit,” “come here,” and “go to your bed.” When it comes to other dogs, Bubba is curious and may pull toward them, but he typically loses interest once he walks past. In the shelter, he showed an independent streak, so while he could do well with a compatible, respectful canine friend, he may also be happiest as your one-and-only. Bubba does have chronic skin and ear conditions common for his breed, and he’ll need adopters prepared for ongoing care and associated veterinary costs. Learn more hereLacroix is a 4-year-old, 32-pound Frenchie mix with a big personality packed into a compact, adorable body. Sweet and feisty, Lacroix loves human attention and is happiest soaking up pets, people-watching, or curling up for a snuggle. This curious boy is very interested in other dogs and can be vocal and excitable on leash. Volunteers have learned he can be persuaded with treats when he has strong opinions about where he'd like to go. Lacroix arrived with a neurologic condition called IVDD. He's made wonderful progress, and is now walking independently and enjoying his outings. Adopters should be prepared for activity restrictions and ongoing vet care to keep him feeling his best. This charming pup will thrive in a home ready to support his medical needs and help him channel his enthusiasm. LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT FOSTER/ADOPTER! Bailey holds a special place in our heart at Jelly's Place. She is our office dog, and is very devoted to the people she trusts. She is quirky, VERY smart and food motivated. We just adore her and know we will find just the right home for her. Bailey was an owner surrender who came to us with some psychological trauma. We suspect she was used for breeding and not treated very well. In her time with us she has gone from being frightened and unapproachable, to a dog who is starting to let her guard down and who wants affection (on her terms), treats, and silly playtime with her toys. Note: Bailey also has skin allergies (we tested her) and that involves some medicated baths and occasional anti itching meds. Bailey needs consistency, and loves her routine. She does great on a leash and would benefit from daily walks. She would be a good fit with a family who doesn't need an active dog. A family without kids would be best, she is a one or two person dog. Once you get past her initial gruff exterior, and Bailey knows you are her person she will melt your heart, and will love you with all of her heart.
