Story
Miley is a purebred German Shepherd and is 8. She is so special - she is a sweet girl who I have had since she was a puppy. We've been through everything together, she is my best friend and I’m her person. Unfortunately, I’m entering a season of life and living situation where she can’t fit into my life anymore. Miley is smart, loves to play and is quite attached to me. She likes people but has anxiety around new humans. She does not like other dogs, and is very dog reactive. Little to no experience with kids too. She has such a good personality! She’s fun and loves playing, is so funny and dainty with her food and treats and is such a lover. My girlfriend and I are planning on getting married next year and she has a Golden Retriever. Miley can’ be in the house with her dog safely, and we can’t have her in the house with a newborn. Therefore, Im hoping to give her a better quality of life by finding someone that will take good care of her and lover her unconditionally like I do!

Story
Jackson is about to be 11 years old and is looking for a stable home. I first picked him up from his original owner about 6 months ago after he had been scared from behind by 2 y/o child and nipped the child. I didn’t want to see a senior dog wind up in the shelter, so I took him in. I have trying to find him a new home for sometime as he is not settling well with the lifestyle my other pup and I have. Jackson is a house dog through and through. He does not want to be outside for long and wants to stay home as the center of attention. Choosing when he wants his attention. He’s a little aloof but smart, and is incredibly skittish. He is scared of a large amount of things including people, misc noises, sneezing, coughing, etc. Just looking for a good home for the twilight years.

Story
Puppies are a lot of fun, but also a lot of responsibility! Things you should be aware of before adopting a puppy from the Denver Animal Shelter:* Puppies will need regular socialization. The critical time period for socialization is between 8 and 16 weeks, but it is important to continue to socialize your new pup throughout their young life. This means having positive and enjoyable interactions with as many new people, new dogs, and new environments as possible. Appropriate socialization will help puppies grow into healthier and more social adults.* They will not know what is appropriate to chew on, where they should go to the bathroom, and how to behave in all situations. Puppies require a lot of time spent on training, management, and supervision. It is recommended that puppies be crate trained or kept in a puppy-proofed room of the house with appropriate chew toys and enrichment when not actively supervised. The Denver Animal Shelter always recommends positive reinforcement-based training methods. * Puppies in a shelter environment often have unknown parentage. While we make our best guesses on size and breed, we cannot guarantee their adult temperament, behavior, size, or characteristics.

Story
Hi there! My name is Calina, and I am a Shepherd mix with the sweetest soul. I can be a little shy and reserved when I first meet new people, but once I learn to trust you, I’ll show you my true colors—I’m a total cuddle bug who loves to play and be by your side. I would thrive best in a home with another dog (or dogs) to help me feel more comfortable and bring out my playful side. I really enjoy companionship, whether it’s from humans or furry friends. Oh—and did I mention? I love to eat! Treats and mealtime are some of my favorite parts of the day. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and gentle companion who just needs a little patience to blossom, I might be the perfect match for you. Come meet me—I can’t wait to find my forever family!  ##2502995##
