Story
Max is a sweet boy who is a bit stressed in the shelter environment. He can't wait to get out of here and start the next chapter of his life with his new family! Max has enjoyed playing with other pups at the dog park in the past and might do well in a multi-dog home. however, he has been a bit too interested in chasing kitties in a previous home, so HSBV will only rehome him to a family without felines. Additionally, at this time we are recommending Max to a home with older or no children.

Story
This is Peggie, a loving 5-year-old German Shepherd mix who has overcome the challenge of missing her right hind foot which we recently had to amputate the full leg and she seems to be walking much better now! Despite this, she’s full of life and eager to find a forever home. Peggie is good with other dogs mainly ones her size She walks well on leash and has lived in an apartment just fine She isn’t fond of cats, so a cat-free home would be best. She is good with kids and doing well with house training and crate training. Comes with 2 Free dog training sessions as all our dogs do

Story
Introducing Searcy (sir-see)! This German Shepherd mix puppy is ready for his forever home. **He’s great with other dogs and reads cues really well. He likes to play with big and small dogs alike and is obsessed with his GSD foster brother. **He is such a stellar pup and is a quick learner. He has already learned “sit” and “crate” and is going into his crate like a champ! We are working on “out”, “stay”, and “sit pretty.” **He is walking on a leash and learning leash pressure quickly. In addition, we are working on recall on a drag leash. **We are working on potty training, but he will need to go to a home that is committed to working on continued crate and potty training with him. **He is extremely food motivated and a quick eater, so he’s been eating from snuffle mats and slow feeder bowls. He has shown zero food/toy resource guarding or aggression around other dogs and is such a good eater. He is working on sitting and waiting to be released to eat his food. **He did so well in his first bath and didn’t fight while using the dremmel on his sharp nails. He just cuddled in and let his foster mom trim them! **He is a typical puppy who is excited to meet everyone and loves to jump up which we are using body pressure to correct and encourage him to not do so. **He is the sweetest boy who will snuggle and bond with you if you will let him. He has those sweet eyes that look into your soul. I know that he is someone’s soul dog and is just waiting to find his human/s. He currently seems like a medium energy dog that will require mental stimulation and exercise to fulfill his needs every day. Biking, hiking, running, rollerblading.. he’s your guy! He loves playing in the water and is getting better at fetch. He is neutered and deemed a healthy boy! Comes with 2 free dog training sessions!

Story
Athena is a very sweet 2 year old german shepherd who we absolutely love. She is a sweetheart who loves tummy rubs and all things outdoors. Due to a lifestyle change and welcoming a child, we are no longer able to provide her with the life she deserves and would like to see her go to a home where she will have plenty of space to run and play. She needs a family who will have patience and put in the time to earn her trust and loyalty. She is wonderful with our kiddo and absolutely devoted to us but she is territorial of her home to strangers and will be a great pet and protector to you if you take the time to win her over.

The pet arrived with it's puppies and mother from New Mexico. This pet was adopted and received lots of support. This pet has been able to attend an Assisted Living Facility to support additional adults. This pet is very kind with adults and very safe with children. This pet is also very safe and kind with cats. I am having a new long-term work schedule and would appreciate the pet being able to have more support.
