Story
My name is Dana I am almost two. I was adopted a couple summers ago, but my older sister has started picking fights with me, so my dad wants me to live somewhere safer for me. I am a very smart german shepherd cross. I have learned how to open the back door by myself and to get out of any chain link fence by opening the gate. I need a home where I can fulfill my active lifestyle. I am a very active girl and enjoy running around and wrestling with my siblings. I currently live with my older sister and a dachshund brother. I like to play, and have a rowdy playstyle, so would be best matched with another dog that appreciates that! I am very smart and have learned how to sit and stay. I look forward to meeting you and hoping you can teach me new and wonderful things. If you're interested in meeting me please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email thegooddogrescueadoptions@gmail.com with your interest in me!) My adoption fee is $300 and I am spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations ##1745197##

Story
Hi there, my name is Leila. I'm the best dog greeter in my doggie daycare. I love balls and toys, going for car rides and love to play with dogs and people.  I walk well on leash, but am scared of bikes and scooters - wheelie things are weird!  I am extremely affectionate and loveable. I have a million facial expressions. I love being outside and playing in the snow. I'm working on my nice leash walking, but am making good progress. I love to explore and sometimes my nose leads me off path.  I would make a great addition to an active home preferably with another dog!  If you're interested in meeting me please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email thegooddogrescueadoptions@gmail.com with your interest in me!) Story
Looking for a Loyal and Lovable Companion? Meet Moon, a loving rescue dog ready to be a part of someone's family! Moon is a 4 year old Shepherd/Lab mix. She’s a little chunky lol but should weigh about 60 pounds once she loses a couple pounds :) She is super sweet and a happy dog with a heart full of love. She is affectionate and friendly. She enjoys giving kisses, playtime, car rides, going on walks or cuddling with her humans. Moon is a medium energy dog who is a really good girl. Moon is potty trained if taken out regularly and is doing well with crate training. She's dog friendly tho unknown about cats. She does great with kids and is a very friendly pup. She's a cute girl, who is smart and learns quickly. She is a snuggle bug, who will love you forever, be a loyal companion and eager to please.. Moon's backstory: Moon's owner died unexpectedly and none of the family would take Moon or her 14 year old fur sister Sunny - they ended up at a kill shelter in Southern Colorado. Sunny is also available for a furever foster (due to age) and we’d love them to go to the same home but they would also do well in their own homes. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Meet Tommy – The Gentle Giant with the Million-Dollar Smile Tommy is a 3-year-old, 75-pound German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his grin. He was rescued from an overcrowded Houston shelter and came to us extremely shy, fearful, and unsure of the world- likely the result of a very troubled past. For months, he needed very patient, gentle fosters to help him feel safe. Because he was given that time, love, and consistency, Tommy has blossomed into the sweetest, calmest, most loyal companion. But it’s important for future adopters to know: Tommy absolutely requires a slow warm-up. He needs people who understand that trust for him is built quietly, steadily, and on his timeline. Once he lets you in, though… it’s magic. In his foster home, Tommy quickly found comfort in his kennel, learned to use the doggy door, and chose an elevated bed as his favorite spot. He’s a slow-paced, easygoing guy who loves lounging on the porch, stretching in the sunshine, and - his signature move - lifting his face to sniff the breeze with a big, content smile. Tommy will likely thrive best in a home with another confident, friendly dog. He adores following another dog’s lead, which helps him feel braver and more secure during new experiences. As his foster family, we LOVE Tommy deeply. We are committed to being an ongoing resource for his success. If, for any reason, the adoption isn’t the right fit, please reach out - we will gladly take Tommy back and continue fostering him to ensure he finds the most perfect home. If you’re looking for a calm, gentle soul who will be your quiet shadow, your breeze-sniffing porch buddy, and your loyal friend once he trusts you, Tommy may be the perfect match you’ve been waiting for. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him? If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Sophie is a 6-year-old, 56lb spayed German Shepard mix. She is currently in a foster home in Houston, Texas and can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! This girl has been through more than any dog ever should—and somehow came out the other side with nothing but love to give. Rescued from the streets along with her puppies, we believe Sophie was hit by or thrown from a moving car. She bravely underwent FHO surgery and completed heartworm treatment, and now she’s ready for the happy ending she’s waited so patiently for. Sophie is fully house-trained, crate-trained, walks beautifully on leash, and rides like a champ in the car. She’s a low-energy, easygoing girl who would much rather cuddle than cause chaos, and her sweet, silly personality shines once she feels safe. Sophie has done well with dogs her size or smaller. She is not a constant player and prefers low interaction, setting boundaries when needed. She may be nervous initially, so slow introductions are recommended. Sophie has been around older children and enjoys playing with them; a home with respectful kids ages 10+ would be ideal. Her behavior around cats is unknown. Sophie requires separate feeding from other animals due to mild food guarding, but she is gentle with people and enjoys affection, kisses, and attention. Sophie’s dream home is a loving place where she can finally relax, feel safe, and be someone’s whole world. She doesn’t need another dog—just a cozy couch, a kind human, and a steady supply of belly rubs. Sophie has survived the unimaginable and still chooses sweetness every single day. She’s ready to belong to a forever family who will love her as deeply as she loves them. If you are interested in adding Sophie into your family, please fill out the adoption application below! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DDAR/Dog **Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Hutla, smaller malinois mix, 48 lb, female, spayed, 1 yoHutla is a beautiful, sweet, waggy, happy girl. She looks like a very small shepherd, she is young, playful,  obedient and trainable.  She was abandoned in the fields and showed up one night at someone's farm with her mom Ursa. Needs to be guided with  patience gentleness as she is young and often acts puppy-like. She is loving and cuddly. She is rather friendly and submissive with the other dogs, but gets nervous at first and needs proper introduction. Better with the male dogs. Good on a leash. Needs a fenced yard with 6' fence. Adoption fee $325. If interested, please submit an adoption or foster application at http://www.sanNicolaDogRescue.com      March 30, 2025, 7:55 pm

Story
Ursa, 2-3 yo, malinois, 56 lb, spayed femaleUrsa showed up one night at someone's farm with her puppy Hutla, apparently abandoned. She is gorgeous, loyal, a lot of love and rather calm and cooperative. She is good with another friendly male dog and her puppy Hutla who used to hide under her at first. However malinois are more like shepherds and should be on a leash around stranger dogs. She needs a secure yard with 6' fence.
