Story
You won't find a more handsome, intelligent or silly boy than Sidney. He is about 3.5 years old and weighs 84 lbs. Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show some barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he shows absolutely no issues. Because Sidney likes a lot of activity, he will need a securely fenced yard (must be a physical fence, not an electric or invisible system) He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly treatment for flea/ticks and heartworm prevention Sidney is currently located in the Middle TN area but transport is included in the adoption fee for approved adopter If you are interested in Sidney, email rookiesrescue@yahoo.com for an application

Story
Name: Atlas Age: 5 years Breed: German Shepherd Size: 64.2 pounds Special Needs: Heartworm positive Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Atlas is a stunning 5-year-old German Shepherd with a noble presence and a heart just as strong as his name suggests. This handsome boy carries himself with confidence and intelligence, always observant of his surroundings and deeply devoted to his people. Atlas has reached a wonderful mature age where he balances calm loyalty with moments of playful fun. He thrives on companionship and would love a home that appreciates the classic German Shepherd traits — intelligence, loyalty, and a strong bond with his family. Atlas enjoys staying active, exploring, and having a purpose, whether that’s going for walks, learning new things, or simply being a steady, loving presence by your side. He does well with other dogs, he is playful but is not too rough. He is good about listening and will come when instructed. If you’re searching for a devoted companion who will stand by you through every chapter of life, Atlas is ready to be your loyal shadow and best friend. Atlas is heartworm positive, so he would need treatment so that he could live out the rest of his day happy and healthy. Atlas's $250 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports! --> If you are interested in adopting Atlas please fill out our online application here: (https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 - Dog). A staff member will reach out if your application is approved to discuss the adoption process. No fenced in yard required, and YES - we adopt to families with children! The adoption will not be final until the adoption contract is discussed and signed. Transports are arranged for specific dates, typically within 1-3 weeks of approving your application. Adopters will meet at a designated meeting spot to pick up their new companions. For further information, please first fill out the application referenced above. **Due to import regulations we are not able to adopt to MA or RI residents at this time.

Story
Bought Ace from a store in Norwalk and ever since then I had problems with my family not liking him. They all get annoyed by his presence and when he does things like barking or would have accidents here and there it would turn into a huge thing. But along with that I’m also not able to properly tend to his needs and it was a huge miscalculation on my part because I didn’t think my family would dislike him being there as much as they do but I learned the hard way. I work early and come back late and I’m not able to walk him or give him as much attention as I should be, not even close and I just want a better home for him. As long as I am guaranteed a home that will take care of his needs I’ll be content and okay. I’m also willing to the family interested in adopting

Story
Samson is a 13 wk nugget, adorable little mixed breed puppy and we think he is so cute we can hardly stand it! He is well socialized, friendly, loves to play with his dog friends, LOVES people, and is just generally a very good time. Hobbies are napping, eating, finding mischief, and stealing kisses! Waiting for his forever home This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
