Story
Marty is the sweetest things ever. He is right at 100 pounds and loves to be inside and sprawling out on the cool floor or curling up on his bed, but also loves running in the yard and sunbathing. He is not kennel trained - we have an add on room he stays in when we are not at home. He does well in a fenced yard, just ensure it is secure (no gaps or holes to squeeze through or under). He is 6 years old and has become lazy in his 'old' age :) But plenty of youth still left! He does very well with other dogs of all sizes and children of all ages. There have not been interactions with cats, but I have no reason to believe it would be a problem.

Story
Shhhhh don't tell the others...but Hannah is a FAVORITE here at MARQ. She's the perfect age at around 4 yrs, past all the silliness of the teenage phase. She just wants to love her person and be loved back. If that means playing in the yard, cool. If that means relaxing on the couch, cool. She's just perfect!! Hannah LOVES kids, is good with other dogs, and would a perfect addition to almost any family. Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time! All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption.

Waverly is on the shyer side and she is looking for a home that will help her grow in confidence. She has been a little scared in the shelter playgroups so she has been hanging out with the other gentle and dainty pups. Waverly was found as a stray so, unfortunately, we don't have any information about her previous life. She is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and ready to go home with you!

Story
Hey everybody, my name is Mae! I am a sweet, laid-back type of gal who's looking for a forever home. It took awhile for me to get where I am now because I was found as a stray and pretty much on the brink of death according to the people who rescued me. I only weighed 35lbs! I am up to 40 lbs. right now. I have an older foster sister who I try to get to play with me but it's tricky because she can't move that fast. I do have two other human foster sisters who I think are pretty cool. My foster mama feeds me in my kennel because I can be a little protective of my food. Lucky 13 had me checked out by the vet and they said the reason why I was so sick was because I have this disease called Endocrine Pancreatitis Disease. Now don't worry, it's not that bad. It just means my pancreas doesn't have the ability to produce sufficient pancreatic enzymes to digest fats, carbohydrates, and proteins so that means I'm on a special diet and enzymes. My foster mom has been feeding me Purina Pro Plan Endo and an enzyme powder. She mixes 2 tsp in my powder twice a day. She said it lasts about a month to a month and a half. I have been eating 3 times a day so I can get to the ideal weight. They said I should be about 60 lbs. Because I was so sick I didn't want to play very much and I'm just now discovering my toys! I love to play now! My favorite things are these round green things. My foster mom says they're tennis balls. They bounce so much! Also, I do like a game of tug of war. I always win! Since I discovered toys, I have also discovered my two-legged sisters' toys. My foster mom says I can't have them, but I try to hide them in my kennel anyway (they usually find them before I can chew them up). I am kennel trained and typically sleep through the night. If I do get up, it's to go to the bathroom and then I'll go right back to sleep. If you have any other questions about me, please ask! Mae will come fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $200. Apply to adopt Mae today at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUCK/Dog or at www.lucky13rescue.org.

Story
Niko is a special guy, he's eager to learn, goofy boy who loves squeaky toys and snuggling. He's huge at 83 pounds he's a tall strong dog, with great agility. We adopted him as a companion for our female dog in January from kcpet project. They play non stop, however he is reactive to other dogs on leash. He also has bitten a dog a dog daycare in February for which he was removed. I would recommend no other dogs or cats at home with this boy. He resource guards toys and places like beds or sofas for that reason he isn't allowed on furniture. He also currently lives with 2 teenagers who are scared of him due to his resource guarding behaviors, reacting to my children but not me or my husband. A home without children would be ideal. He came to me untrained and with no history. In 3 months he has learned sit, stay, down, shake, up, place, stand, come, leave it, wait, and off. He likes baths, bike rides with bike harness, long walks, and lots of pets! p>
