A Second Chance for Bellamy: Your Loving Companion Awaits! Meet Bellamy, a magnificent 2.5-year-old German Shepherd with a heart as big as his stature (100 wiggly, loving pounds!) This brave boy survived being abandoned in rural Missouri and courageously beat heartworms. Bellamy is ready to find the loving home he deserves. With your compassion and a calm, structured environment, Bellamy can truly flourish. Currently thriving at Lily’s Rescue Rehab, he’s making wonderful strides with their dedicated team by his side. Bellamy adores people—there's nothing he loves more than a good game of tug of war and spending quality time with his humans. He’s intelligent, affectionate, and simply beautiful! Loves walks and belly rubs ❤️ What Bellamy Needs: A nurturing home with no small children or other pets (preferably no dogs; a calmer, older dog may be acceptable). Adoption fee; $300 Fee covers neuter, vaccines, dewormer, chip and ProHeart heartworm injection (good through July 2026)

Pet Location: Wayside Waifs CampusMy Friends at Wayside say: - I am from a hoarding situation. I will likely need extra time to adjust to home life. I have lived with other dogs but have not socialized with people. Things like walking on a leash and going through doorways can be challenging for me. Adopting me will be extremely rewarding, but I need time to learn. - I’m a shy dog and need someone willing to be patient with me.- During my time at Wayside, I have enjoyed being around other dogs. My home needs are: - If you have kids in the home 9 years old and younger, I will need to meet them since I can be nervous around new people and loud noises. - New people and things make me a little nervous. Wayside recommends that I have a low traffic home. Special Request from Everly: For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags.Hi, I’m Everly! I’m a shy and gentle girl who’s had a rough start. I come from a hoarding situation, so I’ll need extra time to adjust to home life. I’ve lived with other dogs and really enjoy their company, but I haven’t had much experience with people yet. Things like walking on a leash or going through doorways can be tricky for me at first, so I need someone patient who’s willing to help me learn and grow at my own pace. Adopting me will be extremely rewarding for the right person who understands I need time and gentle guidance.I can be nervous around new people, new places, and loud noises, so I’d do best in a low-traffic home where I can feel safe and comfortable. If you have kids 9 and younger, I’ll need to meet them first so we can get to know each other in a calm way. During my time at Wayside, I’ve loved hanging out with other dogs and finding comfort in their presence. If you’re looking for a sweet, quiet, and loyal companion who just needs a little patience and love, I could be the perfect match for you!Love, Everly

Wayside recommends that I have a low traffic home.Hi, I’m Johnny! I’m a shy and sweet boy who’s had a rough start. I come from a hoarding situation, so I’ll need extra time to adjust to home life. I’ve lived with other dogs and really enjoy their company, but I haven’t had much experience with people yet. Things like walking on a leash or going through doorways can be tricky at first, but I’m smart, food-motivated, and eager to learn, so with patience and treats, I know I can thrive. Adopting me will be incredibly rewarding for someone who’s willing to go slow and let me gain confidence at my own pace.I’m playful too! Balls, squeaky toys, rope toys, I love them all and can spend hours having fun while learning new things. I do best with gentle guidance, patience, and lots of encouragement as I navigate new experiences and environments. For my forever home, I need to meet any other dogs in the household before adoption to make sure we get along. I’d do best with kids 10 and older and in a low-traffic home since new people and loud noises can make me nervous. If you’re patient, kind, and willing to give me time to adjust, I’ll reward you with loyalty, love, and plenty of playful companionship!Love, Johnny

Wayside recommends that I have a low traffic home.Hi, I’m Ava!I’ve had a tough start in life, coming from a hoarding situation, so new experiences and new people can feel a little scary for me at first. I haven’t had much chance to socialize with humans, so things like walking on a leash or going through doorways can be a bit challenging. But I’m learning every day, and with a patient family, I know I can grow confident, brave, and loving.I really enjoy being around other dogs, and they’ve helped me feel safe and happy during my time at Wayside. I would do best in a calm, low-traffic home where I can take things slowly. I’m a little nervous around loud noises and sudden movements, so kids 6 years and older would be perfect. They can give me space while still enjoying my sweet, gentle personality.I need a fenced yard where I can safely explore and go potty, and I’ll need a martingale collar for walks (Wayside’s store, Whiskers and Wags, has them ready for you!). I may take a little time to adjust, but adopting me will be extremely rewarding. Once I feel safe, I promise to shower you with love, loyalty, and maybe even a few happy tail wags every day. Are you ready to give me a chance? Love, Ava

Story
Pet Location: Wayside Waifs CampusMy Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in Waifs with Wisdom. This is a program for dogs to learn basic commands and leash walking skills. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - Don`t be fooled by my age, I still have a lot of puppy energy!- Loves tennis balls and stuffy toys!- My previous owner said that I am house-trained. - I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. My home needs are: - I need a home without other dogs - I prefer having your attention all to myself!- I have a lot of energy and need an active adopter!- Cats are much too interesting to me, so it recommended my home be cat free.- Wayside recommends bringing your children 9 years old and younger out to meet me before adoption to make sure they enjoy my enthusiasm for life! - Recommend no apartments or shared living spaces for me- when I am in busier areas with lots of other dogs around I can be reactive on leash.Check out my super cool video! Scroll through my photos to watch it. Hi there, I’m Xena!I’m a 7-year-old German Shepherd with a zest for life and a heart full of love. Don’t let my age fool you, I’ve still got plenty of that classic Shepherd energy and goofiness that’ll keep you smiling every day. Whether we’re going for a hike, hitting the trails, or just playing in the yard, I’m always up for an adventure with my favorite people.I’m both housetrained and crate trained, so I’ve got the basics down. What I’m really looking for now is an active home where I can stretch my legs, explore the world, and be included in your daily life. I thrive when I have a job to do, even if that job is simply being your loyal sidekick.I got to go on a field trip. I jumped right in the back seat. I rode in the car beautifully. I loved being able to stick my nose out of the windows. We only walked around Minor Park for about 30 minutes since it was already so warm. I did great. I enjoyed a sausage biscuit and an ice cream pup cup from Sonic. We went for an extended car ride after that. I had so much fun. I can`t wait to go again.I am a bit afraid of other dogs and unsure of the best way to interact with them. My friends at Wayside have been working on teaching me how to be comfortable around other dogs but for now, I`ll need a home without other dogs in it and where I don`t have to worry about going to dog p
