How is she still not adopted! Delilah is one of the sweetest and most loyal dogs here at the rescue. She’s been here way too long. She’s raised her last litter over 2 years ago and now she needs you to give her the love she’s patiently been waiting for. Pleae open your heart and home to her WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌟🐾 Meet Delilah — A Loving, Lively Girl Ready for Her Forever Adventure 🐾🌟 Delilah is a Shepherd/Cattledog mix (best guess), born 10/01/2021, weighing in at a healthy 55 lbs, and bursting with personality, affection, and zest for life. If you’re looking for a dog who will love you wholeheartedly and keep you smiling, Delilah might just be your girl. She is sweet, affectionate, and eager to please, soaking up attention like sunshine. Belly rubs? Yes please. Cuddles? Absolutely. A game of fetch or a splash in the water? Even better! Delilah thrives on interaction and loves being part of the action. Delilah does great with other dogs and enjoys their company, though she prefers to dine solo — a girl likes her personal space at mealtime, after all. No issues with people around her food or toys, just a polite request for her own bowl. She’s still polishing up her manners (sometimes those paws get a little excited!), but she’s learning quickly and wants to do right by her people. Because of her energy level and curiosity, Delilah would do best in a home without cats and with a secure, tall fence. She’s an explorer at heart and would love an active family who enjoys outdoor time, play sessions, and giving her the mental and physical stimulation she thrives on. 🐾 Delilah’s Highlights: ✅ Born 10/01/2021 ✅ 55 lbs of love and personality ✅ Sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented ✅ Great with other dogs ✅ Loves water, fetch, and belly rubs ✅ Active and playful ✅ Eats separately from other dogs ✅ Needs a secure yard Delilah is the kind of dog who will make you laugh, keep you moving, and remind you every day how special the bond between a dog and their person can be. With the right home, she’s going to absolutely shine. ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give Delilah the loving home she’s been waiting for. 🐾💛

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Meet Vanna. Vanna is an approximately 4-year-old, spayed and vaccinated German Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She’s playful, affectionate, and very much a “velcro dog” who loves being close to her people. Once she bonds with you, she’s happiest by your side, whether you’re relaxing at home or heading out for an adventure. Vanna has medium energy levels and would thrive in an active home. She loves playing fetch and going for walks, and she’s great in the car, making her a fun companion for outings. At home, she’s been trusted to free roam and isn’t destructive at all she just wants to be near her favorite humans. When it comes to other animals, Vanna is best suited as the only dog in the home. She can be playful with very well-matched dogs (generally larger dogs around 90 lbs or more) as long as there are no resources to guard or compete over, and she’s good at picking up cues when another dog is done playing. She’s not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash depending on how other dogs behave toward her, so continued leash work and training will be important. The good news? She does great with dog-savvy cats! Vanna is reserved with strangers at first but remains friendly and warms up with time. She hasn’t been around kids yet, but she may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries. She currently doesn't have stairs where she lives, but will likely have no issues with them and settles nicely into a home routine. Like many dogs who’ve been through a lot, Vanna is still working through some challenges. She has experienced significant trauma and is actively working on negative behaviors around other dogs. She has some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people, will need continued support with leash manners, and is still polishing up her potty training with the occasional accident. Vanna is also crate trained. With patience, consistency, and understanding, she has so much potential to continue growing. Vanna is a loyal, loving companion who just needs the right home…one that can give her structure, reassurance, and plenty of affection. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend who will stick by your side through it all, Vanna may be your perfect match! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? **WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Sprocket. I'm about 1-2 years old and I weigh about 63 lbs. I was found running on Rt 14 in the Washingtonville area and was brought into the pound. My owner did call to look for me, but never came in to claim me so I am now looking for a loving new family to join. I am a very sweet and happy boy. I LOVE playing fetch and I will definitely demand playtime if I am bored. I will definitely jam my toy in to your leg so you know that I would like you to throw my ball. No take, only throw. That's the game I like to play if I have my toy in my mouth. I will drop it and let you play lets see who can get it faster too. I also like that game! I do sometimes drop it and let you throw it for me too, though, because I LOVE to run and chase it just as much as I love to tease you with it. I have done well around the other dogs here at the pound and I've also done well around the office cats. I am very clean in my kennel and I appear to be housebroken. I will need a family that can work with me on my basic training and manners, though I do well for the most part. I do try to dart past people at doors, so some impulse control work would be helpful. If you're looking for a big, sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Greetings, mortals! I am Aries, a majestic male dog with a powerful spirit that rivals the might of the gods themselves. My lineage is a fusion of strength and courage, much like the mythical Greek warriors of old. As a German Shepherd mix, I bear the mantle of both protector and loyal companion, ready to embark on epic adventures by your side. Behold, my most distinctive feature: my big, floppy ears that listen keenly to the whispers of the wind and the secrets of the world around me. They stand as a testament to my unwavering vigilance, always attuned to the slightest rustle or sign of danger. Like the fiery ram that represents my namesake constellation, I possess boundless energy and a fiery spirit. With every step I take, I channel the might of the heavens, exuding the strength and grace befitting of a true Greek hero. My paws tread the earth with purpose, and my heart beats with the fervor of an ancient battle cry. But fear not, for beneath my divine exterior lies a heart overflowing with affection. I am not just a warrior; I am a loyal and loving companion. Together, we shall conquer every challenge and forge an unbreakable bond that even the gods would envy. So, dear mortal, if you seek a canine ally who embodies the essence of a Greek legend, look no further. I, Aries, the German Shepherd mix with big floppy ears, am here to join you on a quest of a lifetime. Let us create a mythic tale of companionship and courage that will be sung by bards for generations to come. Story
Hi there. My name is Bandit, and I am a young, female German Shepherd with a little Husky mixed in. I’m already a big girl and still growing into my paws. Like most young shepherds, I am full of energy and excitement. I would love an active family that enjoys playtime and being outdoors. I love chasing a ball, chewing on bones, and playing with my brother and sister. My best friend right now is actually a Great Dane, so I can definitely keep up with the big dogs. Stuffed toys don’t last very long around me. My favorite game is seeing how fast I can remove the stuffing and make it look like it snowed in South Texas. There is an outdoor cat where I live now, but she prefers to keep her distance, so I am not quite sure how I would do with a friendly feline. When it comes to people, I am a total sweetheart. I love to snuggle every chance I get. If you rub my chest or belly, I will melt right into your lap. I am also great with the foster grandkids who are 4 and 8 years old. Sometimes I get a little excited and accidentally knock the little one over, but I always apologize with lots of kisses. I am house trained and use a doggy door. I am not crate trained yet, but my foster family is working with me on leash training and getting more comfortable meeting new people. I can be a little reserved at first, but with patience, encouragement, and a few treats, I warm up quickly. My foster parents even had DNA tests done on my parents. My mom is 100% German Shepherd and my dad is 81% German Shepherd and 19% Husky, which explains my beautiful looks. I was born on July 21, 2025. I am spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccines and preventions. Now all I need is a loving forever family to call my own. Go ahead and submit an adoption application for me now!
