Story
Hi! I'm Emerie! I'm an approximately 1 year old, female, German Shephard mix, weighing about 52 lbs. I was brought to the shelter in hopes of finding my furr ever home! I am a sweet girl who loves to give hugs and kisses. I enjoy playing with my dog friends and hanging out with my people. I am currently learning how to play fetch and have a big interest in tennis balls! I walk well on a leash but still pull on occasion. I am excited to find my new furr ever crew and am looking forward to a snuggly, warm bed to sleep in. My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed and microchipped. I will be current on my rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm negative! Due to high interest since my arrival, meet and greets will be by APPROVED APPLICATION ONLY. Please visit https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and RAC staff will be in touch to set up a meet and greet with approved applicants.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. June 22, 2024, 2:31 pm

Story
Hi there! My name is Bandit. I am a 4-year-old male German Shepherd that weighs around 75 Lbs. I was originally found off of Renee Dr. in Rockwall on 05/20/24 and never reclaimed. So now, I am available for adoption and can't wait to find my furever family. I love to garden and have a passion for food. I enjoy good food smells and am an excellent taste tester. I'm not a good cook but I am super supportive and enthusiastic. I am an excellent Chef Hype Man! I am new to the shelter and have not yet been dog tested. If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is suggested prior to adoption to ensure we get along. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, and up to date on my basic yearly vaccines. I did test positive for heartworms, however, thanks to Rockwall PAWS, I am able to receive treatment for little to no cost to my adopter. If you have any questions about heartworms or heartworm treatment, please contact RAC by phone or email. If you are interested in making me a part of your family, please complete an online application through our website at https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hi. My name is Luna. I am a female 3 year old German Shepherd that weighs around 70 Lbs. I was surrendered on 04/02/2024 by my owner because they could no longer care for me. I do well with larger breed dogs and am not suggested with cats or small dogs. A meet and greet is encouraged if you have another dog in the home to make sure we get along. My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccine, and have received my basic boosters to date. Story
Hi! I'm Dan! I'm an approximately 5 year old, male, German Shephard mix who weighs about 65 lbs. I was found off Eva Plance in Rockwall on 06/15/2024 with a friend and sadly never reclaimed. I am 100% a water baby! I should have been born a dog-fish because I love being in the pool. I'd love to find a new home just in time for the warm summer months so I can splish-splash! I walk well on a leash and appear to be crate trained. RAC is confident that I will be house trained quickly once I am adopted. I came in with a friend but a meet and greet is encouraged if you have another dog in the home. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, and basic boosters. I did test heartworm positive but Thanks to Rockwall PAWS, I will be able to receive treatment at little to no cost to my adopters. Story
Hi! I'm Knight and I look good in shining armor! I'm an approximately 11 week old, male, German Shephard puppy. I was found Sunday, 06/16/2024 off Barton Springs in Rockwall and brought to the shelter on 06/18/2024. Sadly, I have not been reclaimed. I travelled far in my journey, but I am now looking for a new Kingdom to settle in! I am your typical, young pup and am looking for a family with time to train me to become the most valiant family pet I can be! I have not been at the shelter for very long, so I have not yet made any other animal friends. If you have another pup in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along! My adoption fee is $125 and that includes my neuter, rabies vaccination, 1st dewormer, 1st set of puppy boosters, and microchip. Since I am so young, meet and greets will be scheduled by approved application only. Please visit https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ to fill out an application!  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Story
Hey there, I'm Cherry, a lovable female German Shepherd in search of my forever home. I may be a bit nervous and jumpy at first, but once I warm up to you, I promise to be the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. During our walk together, I did my best to overcome my nerves, and I believe I did quite well. I did have a funny moment when I mistook a traffic cone for something to be wary of - my hair stood on end, and I couldn't help but bark at it. It was a silly moment that made us all laugh! After our walk, I was treated to a yummy lick mat, and let me tell you, I enjoyed every single lick! I may have some quirks, but I am eager to learn, grow, and become the best companion I can be for my future family. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who will bring joy and laughter into your life, I believe I could be the perfect match for you. Let's create new memories together and make each day a little brighter. Will you be the one to give me my forever home? For more information, to adopt or foster to adopt Cherry, please contact Rowlett Animal Shelter.June 22, 2024, 3:36 pm

Story
Sunny will be 2 years old in July. We purchased her from an owner getting rid of puppies. We are looking for an owner experienced with owning pets, can manage a high energy dog with mild anxiety, and preferably has older children or no children. She is perfectly safe around babies and toddlers, but is anxious and unable to relax around them. That is the issue we have continued to run into and we have another baby on the way. Sunny has been house trained and obeys all basic commands. She will need some work if you plan to introduce her to other animals as we’ve never done that. A refresh on manners would be good as well - no jumping, waiting at the door, calm getting her leash on - all doable but we have been letting slide recently. She is beyond loyal, loves to play, and wants you to hold her paw when you give her scratches. Brushing and basic grooming are a must as she is a long haired breed. Sunny is a wonderful dog who deserves wonderful owners. We hope we can find that for her.

Story
** COURTESY POST ** ** This animal is NOT at the Rowlett Animal Shelter, so please do not inquire with them ** ** For information contact 972-374-6931 or 1bryanmtz@gmail.com ** Akira is a very sweet boy, he loves to play with other dogs and is very good with kids. He is a bit whiny when taking baths but once he is reassured everything is ok he will calm down and even let his owner file his nails calmly. He is not very comfy with being left alone inside or outside but luckily he knows his crate can be a safe place when his owner is absent. He is not sterilized or microchipped however; is up to date on vaccinations.  He might take a short while to get used to his new home but once he knows he is loved he going to be ready for all the attention and love he needs. He will love to walk and run outside. He will love to be surrounded by people who will pet him and maybe he might even let you snuggle up with him. Akira loves to help out in the yard mostly chewing on sticks and rocks that might look scary…won’t you let him protect you from scary sticks and rocks? June 22, 2024, 3:36 pm

** COURTESY POST ** ** This animal is NOT at the Rowlett Animal Shelter, so please do not inquire with them ** ** For information contact Jessica at 469-508-6005 or j.lynnhill29@gmail.com ** This is Saki (but her given name at the shelter was Bonita which is still listed on her microchip). She is very sweet, non-aggressive. She was picked up as a stray and spent time in Garland Animal Shelter till she was adopted February 2, 2024. She loves getting her belly rubbed and ears scratched. She is very cuddly and has been an outstanding companion. She doesn't bark or bite/growl. She gets overly excited but after a few minutes she calms down and goes right to sleep. She is smart, she knows a few basic commands like "sit" and "lay down." It doesn't take long at all, she will make you fall in love with her and she will make you miss her when you're away.  June 22, 2024, 3:36 pm

Story
Meet Sloane! Sloane is a 7-year-old, female, Dutch Shephard mix weighing approximately 60lbs. She was originally found on Lakeside Drive in Rockwall on 09/12/2023 and sadly never reclaimed. Sloane has been looking for her fur-ever family for 242 days as of 05/11/24 and truly cannot wait to be adopted. Sloane will be live and in person here at the shelter until the end of July! Sloane has shown that she truly is a super sweet and affectionate dog! She really loves people and thrives in a home setting! She's great with kids ages 4 and up and is very gentle while they play with her. She enjoys playing fetch, but she is still learning the "retrieve/return" part of the game and will have a blast running around with the ball. Tennis balls are her jam! She is crate and leash trained. Sloane seems to prefer having a human companion over a canine one but meet and greets can be arranged if you have another dog in the home prior to adoption. Since Sloane has been a resident of RAC for over 90 days, she is considered a Diamond Dog with a reduced adoption fee of $75. She is spayed, current on rabies vaccination and basic boosters, microchipped and heartworm negative! Since she is in foster and not currently at the shelter, an online application is required in order to meet with her. If you are interested in making Sloane a part of your family, please submit an adoption application located here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/.
