Story
Marcos is a total sweetheart. His favorite place is next to you. He was found as a stray with a pregnant female and never reclaimed. Marcos is a shy boy who would do best in a home with a confident dog from whom he can take cues. Once acclimated to a home and routine, he loves going for walks. In general, he walks nicely and likes to sniff. Occasionally, if something startles him, he will pull to get away from it. He is great with the other dogs in his foster home and completely ignored the free roaming cats at the shelter. He is house trained and crate trained. Questions About this Animal? Story
Sully is a 1 year, 8 month old 55 lb bundle of pure, unadulterated joy. He is a quiet, gentle, patient, loving doggie who will fetch and bring back to you as many tennis balls as you can possibly throw 🎾. He’s super athletic and a great running partner but also will relax contentedly until it’s time to go. Sully is a perfect couch buddy and will snuggle in as close as possible to his humans. He’s crate trained and non-destructive and will bring items to me (👟,🦴,📗) as if I lost them and he’s found them😂, gently returning them to me. He is very smart and knows many commands—sit, shake, drop it, go to your crate. I think he’d learn just about anything for a treat! Sully gets along with other dogs and is non-reactive to pretty much anything out on walks and even our resident cranky cat. He is house trained and will wait by the door when he needs to go out. He sleeps soundly through the night, in his own bed or yours. He is neutered and microchipped. We have absolutely no idea how a beautiful, big-hearted dog like this could ever end up in a rescue. If you have any interest in giving this perfect puppy soul a soft place to land, please reach out. He wants nothing more than a human family to love forever ❤️. Questions About this Animal? If so, Lore might be the perfect companion for you. Lore is a gentle soul who has faced more than her fair share of challenges. This sweet, timid girl is a shy, scared pup who will need a special adopter to help her blossom into the loving, confident dog she’s destined to become. She’s got a heart of gold, but it’s hidden beneath layers of fear and hesitation. Lore’s past experiences have left her wary of new people and environments. She’s a little unsure about the world, but with time, patience, and a gentle touch, she has the potential to be a truly loyal and affectionate companion. What Lore Needs: Experienced Adopter: Lore’s ideal home is with someone who has experience with fearful and anxious dogs. You’ll need to be prepared to go at Lore’s pace and understand that building trust will take time. Patient and Loving Environment: Lore will need a calm, quiet environment where she can feel safe and secure. A predictable routine will help her feel more at ease. Training and Socialization: Lore will benefit from positive reinforcement training to help her overcome her fearful behaviors. With guidance, she can learn to navigate new situations with more confidence. Time and Commitment: Gaining Lore’s trust won’t happen overnight. You’ll need to be dedicated to spending quality time with her, slowly introducing her to new experiences and people. What Lore Offers: Loyal Companionship: Once Lore feels safe, she will show you the depth of her affection. Her loyalty and gentle nature will shine through as she begins to trust you. A Rewarding Journey: Helping Lore overcome her fears will be a deeply rewarding experience. Watching her grow and thrive in a loving environment will be a testament to your commitment and care. If you’re ready to take on the rewarding challenge of helping Lore find her way to a happier, more confident life, please consider opening your heart and home to this deserving girl. With the right support, Lore has the potential to become a cherished member of your family. Important Addendum: Commitment to Lore’s Journey Please note that due to Lore’s sensitive nature and the significant commitment required to support her growth, we are not accepting returns for her. Lore’s journey to confidence and trust is delicate and crucial, and it’s important that she finds a stable, dedicated home where she can flourish without disruption. Lore will need a committed owner who is prepared to invest time and effort into her training and socialization. Bouncing between homes can deeply affect her progress, potentially causing separation anxiety and hindering her ability to build trust and confidence. If you are ready to provide Lore with the stable, loving environment she needs, and you are committed to her ongoing training and development, we encourage you to consider adopting her. Your dedication will play a vital role in helping Lore become the happy, confident companion she deserves to be. __________________________________If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application.Apply to adopt at: www.nerdypaws.org Nerdy Paws Animal Rescue is a foster based rescue in Springfield, VA. We do not have a shelter, all of our animals are in foster homes. We require all potential adopters to fill out an application before setting up a meeting with the animal and their foster family.
