Story
KIARA IS A COURTESY POST - IF INTERESTED, EMAIL INFO@PETEY&FURENDS.ORG Name: Kiara Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 6 years old Best Guess for Breed: Collie/German Shepherd Mix Weight: About 55 lbs Good With: Dogs and People! We haven’t seen her with cats yet, but happy to test her out! She would do best in a home as an only dog without small kids since she gets startled easily. Story: Kiara was rescued from the war in Ukraine and we are posting her on behalf of a community member. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Kiara is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Even though she’s an adult dog, Kiara will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! PERFECT FAMILY: Kiara’s perfect family is a quiet home with 1-2 adults. Although she is very sweet and gentle, she gets easily startled by unexpected movements and loud noises; as a result, we recommend she not go to a home with children. She craves love and attention and would be happiest as the only dog to soak up all the attention from her adopter(s). However, she does get along with other dogs in her foster home. She has not been cat-tested. PERFECT HOME: A quiet home away from the busy city. Kiara is vocal when anyone arrives, so she would not be a good fit for apartment living. She loves running around in her foster’s fenced-in backyard, but because she is not a high-energy dog, a yard is not required as long as she can have a daily walk. EXERCISE NEEDS: Kiara is a medium energy dog. She loves to play fetch and tug of war and run around in the yard. On walks, she moves at an easy, leisurely pace. She is great on the leash but can sometimes be leash-reactive when seeing another dog, but bringing a few treats with you during walks is usually enough to distract her. BEHAVIOR IN HOME: Kiara is very loving, gentle, and eager to please. She is incredibly smart and super treat-motivated, making her a dream student for training. She knows sit, down, stay, come, shake, drop it, and go to bed—and is eager to learn more. She loves, loves, love to be pet. She is happy to curl up by your feet wherever you are and often sleeps covering her eyes with her paw, which we find adorable. She is fully potty trained and has not chewed on anything other than her bones in her foster home. Having escaped the war in Ukraine, she is easily startled by loud noises or sudden movements but has made huge progress on this. She is a little uneasy around new people at first but warms up very quickly, especially if you give her a treat, and then will not leave your side. Her soulful eyes just melt your heart. She has been through so much and deserves a loving forever home.  If you think that Kiara might be your perfect match, please email info@peteyandfurends.org.       April 17, 2024, 12:04 pm

Story
Hello! My name is Eva, and I’m looking for someone very special. I’m young, super smart, and quite handsome, if I do say so myself :) I haven’t had an easy time in life though, and my foster mom says I’ve been doing a pretty good job making up for lost time. I’m now house and crate trained, ride great in a car (love that!), and can do lots of commands: sit, shake, down, rollover, spin, leave it (not my favorite!), and focus. I also love to jog alongside my foster mom’s son, woohoo! My loyalty and devotion are endless, once I bond with you, I promise! Story
Hudson is a sweet boy who is highly trainable, great on leash, loves a good cuddle, and is happy to just hang out all day sunning himself. I rescued Hudson on 3/22/24, the day he and 30 other dogs were scheduled to be euthanized due to overcrowding at a high kill shelter. Since then he has been decompressing and loving his life outside the shelter. Things to know about Hudson: 4-ish years old, German Shepherd mix, 63 lbs He loves to have a good chew on ball or toy but has no interest in chewing up anything he's not supposed to. He is smart, eager to please, and treat-oriented which makes him easily trainable- he has already picked up a few commands and he re-directs immediately. He naturally loose-leash walks, does not have a strong prey drive towards squirrels, and politely meets (or ignores) dogs on walks. He happily snoozes most of the day while I work and doesn't display any signs of separation anxiety. Hudson would make an excellent addition to any household.

Story
Bentley is 2 years old and is a sweet German Shepherd. He has experience with other pets (dogs and cats), well behaved, trained in German, and is always down to have fun outside. He’s leashed trained, crate trained, and E collar trained. I’m looking for someone that’s able to give him more time than I can. He comes with a lease, service dog vest, pinch collar, E collar, canopy bed, and 1 MONTH OF FOOD. He’s also experienced with eating 100% raw food, but currently he’s eating UnKibble

Story
Torvi was sold to me in 2020 as an executive protection dog/service dog when she was 4 years old by a business named CQB K9. The owner of the business passed away last year and it’s now dissolved. Torvi has never been able to go out in public: she’s not good on a leash, tries to attack smaller animals and won’t listen to commands in a public space. I’m trying to rehome her so I can make room for a well-trained service dog through a reputable agency or veterans charity. Torvi is good with children, larger animals and the cat we live with. She obeys commands at home and would make a great guard dog.

Story
🐾 Adoption Notice 🐾 Meet Max, a sweet and lovable German Shepherd looking for his forever home! Max is 3 years old and adores kids, dogs, and cats. He enjoys going for walks, hiking in nature, cuddling up, and playing with his favorite balls. Max is full of energy and requires an owner who can devote time to his exercise and care needs. As a German Shepherd, Max can be a bit anxious at times and may bark when he's scared or nervous, but don't let that fool you – he's a big sweetheart at heart! Max is seeking an understanding owner who can provide a supportive and patient environment. Max is also deeply bonded with his younger brother Milo, and we are open to rehoming them together for a perfect family match. We are heartbroken to have to rehome Max and Milo, but we want to ensure they find a loving and caring home. If you are ready to welcome this dynamic duo or give Max a loving home, please reach out to us.

Story
Bella is an 8 month old German shepherd x husky lovebug. There ain't a time she won't lift up a hind leg for a belly rub. I'm looking for a home where she would be loved, nurtured and supported to continue growing into a happy and healthy lady. Bella is great with children 5+, she has assisted in greeting children and parents alike on their way to school during crossing guard assignments, giving gentle kisses. I caution supervision however due to her larger size, she reckons she is a lapdog - often forgetting her size. Bella is great with other dogs. While larger than our family husky, she submits and is still playful with our husky. I'm looking to rehome Bella due to our boy not taking to her, they tend to play, however he does not eat properly anymore and has developed other characteristics not favorable to his health. I'd love for her to go to a home where she will be loved instead of ending up at a shelter.
