I’m looking for a new home for Charlie, my 2-year-old German Shepherd. I’m moving and unfortunately can’t take him with me, so I’m trying to find him a good spot as soon as possible. The Good Stuff: Charlie is a great dog who absolutely lives for his walks. If you grab a leash, he’s the happiest guy in the world. He’s been living with cats and does totally fine with them, which is a huge plus for a Shepherd. He’s got that typical GSD loyalty and just wants to be part of whatever you’re doing. Things to Know: Because of the move and some personal circumstances, he is behind on his vet work. He is not neutered and I don’t have his shot records, so his new owner will need to get him caught up on his vaccinations and fixed. I’m also not sure how he is with kids since he hasn't been around them much. He’s a young, strong dog with a lot of potential, he just needs someone who has the time for him. This is Heidi. She is 7 years old. The good: Heidi has a very sweet, lovable personality. She loves belly rubs and head rubs. Very friendly towards people and on walks Heidi is more interested in sniffing around than chasing bicyclists and even leaves the skateboarders alone. She is very treat motivated and quick to learn what you want from her when snacks are involved. She does amazing in car rides and has never tried chewing up my car interior out of boredom or stress when left alone. The challenges: Heidi is dog reactive and aggressive towards other dogs until with the right introduction and enough time she will become interested and playful with another dog. She can be partially distracted with treats to keep her from barking at other dogs. Heidi may have irritable bowel disease however this has been improved with her new diet and she has gained weight and energy since changing her food to accomodate her digestive issues.

She`s affectionate, steady, and self-assured, always interested and observing the world around her. She is thrilled about everything and is ALWAYS ready to go, don’t let her age fool ya. She is very strong and generally walks well on leash but she needs some work on containing her non-stop excitement. Emmie is so gentle when it comes to food. Some of it is because her teeth were not cared for, so she is slow and steady when it comes to eating. She has the eagerness of a younger dog but because she is a bit older, so she needs an adopter who will care for all of her needs, including future ones. Emmie has lived with other dogs before and is living with two large males in her foster home. She is confident and playful, which not all dogs love, so she`ll need slow, thoughtful introductions to any new canine companions. She does fantastic in her crate and does not have any separation anxiety but she will need her daily exercise. If you`re looking for a mature, loyal companion who will go on any adventure and also chill out with you on the couch, she may be your perfect match. She`s ready to spend her golden years living life to the fullest and in a home where she can feel safe, loved, and appreciated for the wonderful dog she is.The dog adoption fee is $90.
