Story
Almost 2 years old. He is a Black German shepherd lab mix. He is fixed and up to date on his shots. He is House trained and crate trained. He also knows basic commands such as sit, stay, and no ect. Would be best suited as the only pet in house hold, no young children. He enjoys walks, cuddles and playing fetch and playing with toys. We adopted him from a shelter in Lewis county last February, he was about 8 months old. We don’t know much about his history, we only know him and his sister were left at a fire station and then bounced around different animal shelters. Please reach out if you have any questions!

Story
Kimchi is a German Shepherd/Shiba Inu mix with a very gentle personality. She's ~3-4 years old. When we first got her, she unfortunately caught parvo and had to spend most of her first year quarantined while recovering. Because of that early experience, she struggles with anxiety and needs a little extra patience and reassurance. She is very attached to her people and does best in calm, predictable environments. She does not enjoy regular walks and is trained to use a large dog pad for the restroom instead. To help her stay active, we take her to the dog park at our apartment where she can exercise comfortably in a familiar space. She can become nervous around unfamiliar people and may have a hard time during unexpected interactions, so slow introductions and understanding are important. Despite her anxiety, she is a sweet dog who thrives with gentle attention and consistency.

Story
~DOB: 10/1/2018 Weight: ~85 lbs Energy Level: Low–Moderate Drive: Low Location: Washougal, WA Koa is a gentle giant with an old soul and a quietly joyful heart. Despite a rough past, he’s come through resilient, affectionate, and delightfully silly in the moments when he feels most content. He’s not a velcro dog, but you’ll never feel alone. Koa likes to make sure his people safely get from room to room, often pausing for a nap along the way. Koa has calm, grounding energy that naturally settles a home. He would be a wonderful companion for someone who values closeness and affection without constant demands for attention. He enjoys head pats, relaxed belly rubs, and simply being included. After dinner, you’ll often find him rolling around on his bed, softly grumbling in pure contentment; a small, heart-melting ritual that shows just how safe and happy he feels. Socially, Koa is thoughtful and well-mannered. He does well with visitors, reads the room nicely, and takes cues from other dogs. He lives peacefully with foster dog siblings, enjoys chase and wrestling (with excellent self-control), and respects boundaries when corrected. He’s curious but polite with cats and shows little prey drive. In public, he’s calm and composed. Koa is fully house trained, crate trained, non-destructive, and easy to live with. He’s food-motivated, responds well to verbal cues, and has solid foundational training. He enjoys short walks, casual hikes, playing with a ball, and then settling in for long naps. His ideal home is calm to moderately active: families with kids 6+, first-time dog owners, or older adopters looking for a loving, steady companion. Koa doesn’t need intense exercise; he needs consistency, comfort, and someone committed to continuing his care so he can enjoy his golden years to the fullest. Koa is truly something special. A soft, steady presence who makes life feel a little quieter and a lot warmer.

Story
Meet Chief — a very smart, handsome boy looking for the right home. I have been fostering him for the past three months after he was rehomed from a previous owner, but unfortunately my job will soon no longer allow me to support his needs long term. Chief is incredibly loyal and sweet once he gets to know his person. He thrives with consistency, structure, and clear boundaries, so he would do best with an experienced owner who can give him daily guidance and routine. He is crate trained, walks and runs well on a leash, and learns new commands very quickly. Chief can be slightly uneasy around new people, especially males, and will need a patient owner willing to continue building his confidence through consistent training and positive introductions. Once he trusts someone, he is very affectionate and devoted. He can also be slightly leash reactive around other dogs, but he does well during play once properly introduced. Chief has so much potential in the right environment.

Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/ This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
