Story
Puppies are magnificent! I am cute, rambunctious, lively and fun. I have so much to learn, discover and explore - just a tiny sponge who is ready to absorb everything you have to teach me and show me. I am counting on you to help me safely navigate the world and experience new things each day to allow me to grow into a confident young dog. That isn't as exotic and daunting a task as it might sound. Each day I just need to be introduced to one new thing like the sound of a vacuum, a blender or a door bell, walking up and down a step, a ride in a car, hearing a motorcycle or a truck, going somewhere to see new people, even maneuvering a fallen log on a walk. You get the idea, so many things that seem common to you are completely new to me. Speaking of growing, I may be tiny now but I do plan on getting bigger so I would love to take obedience classes to learn proper manners and social skills. I also know I have to practice something called house-training so I know proper potty behavior. A routine and lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master house-training when I potty outside. Puppies and dogs need love, exercise, mental stimulation and consistency to be healthy, happy and confident. I am typically very open to all sorts of housemates; I can be a bit mischievous and may find any other critter as a potential playmate so they will need to understand that about me. I often explore the world with my mouth and while I am teething I like to chew; my little puppy teeth are very sharp so if I am around children we should always be supervised. It is important that children learn about respecting me, too, and treat me gently because I am fragile. Raising a puppy is a big responsibility, a lot of work, and it may interrupt your sleep cycle for a bit, but a courteous and well-behaved dog is certainly worth the investment and I promise to be loyal, love you unconditionally and be a companion forever. I just know I will bring joy and laughter into your home and cannot wait to meet you. Let the adventures begin!#1

Story
Howdy, my name is Rafe; I am a good ‘ol boy from Louisiana. I hopped aboard a transport heading to WCHS because I thought it might be lovely to find a home in Wisconsin; the airplane ride was quite an adventure. I am a friendly lad who has lots of energy; I like to have a good time. I am 55 pounds of playful; I enjoy playing with humans as well as other pooches. I have been fortunate to participate in playgroups in the shelter in Louisiana as well as here at WCHS. I do know the cue for ‘sit' but must confess I could use a little work to polish up my manners; I am quite exuberant and sometimes forget to keep my four paws on the floor. I am a smart dude and think it would be fun to take some classes with you to help keep my brain busy. It would be great to also expand my skillset and learn agility or other canine sports, dog parkour, nose work or focus and touch exercises. I am quite the looker and am confident that with patient and positive training techniques I could make you proud. I hope you stop by to meet me in person, play with me in the courtyard and get acquainted in a room; my dynamic personality, charm and zest for life is sure to impress you.#2

Story
Hi, I'm Suzie, I'm 3.5 year old White Shepard and still looking for my new home where I can be your only pet👍 Did I mention that I'm spayed, up to date on everything with my Doctor and I'm also chipped even though I never try to run off!! I keep hearing what an awesome dog I am and how I'm sweet and gentle with everyone except those 2 other dogs I live with that I KNOW want to eat my food and steal my humans from me...I wish I was an only child!! When I'm out in public I like all the other pups...I don't even pay attention to them at the groomers, much less bark or growl at them!! I promise to be your best companion ever!!

Story
Nova is a beautiful 7 month old German Shepherd Dog. She has a beautiful black and tan coat. Nova is a sweet girl who loves to be with her favorite people and play fetch. She is potty trained in Texas, but her new family should be prepared to do a little additional training in that area, as her routine in your home will be very different than what she is used to in a foster home in Texas. She is not yet spayed due to her young age, but will have an appointment set up at our veterinarian for the procedure in March. If her adopter chooses to use their own veteriniarian, a rebate of $150 will be provided upon proof of spay. She is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and she comes with her medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies her to be in good condition.

Not good with kids, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Knox is a 5.5yo neutered GSD. We have had him since a puppy and he is AKC registered. He has a few AKC titles. He is crate trained. He has been raised around kids but has a strong herding instinct so needs to be monitored carefully around them. He is a very typical German Shepherd with the attitude to go with. He can be very pushy so he needs an experienced handler, but he is also very motivated to work. He will closely bond with one owner but tolerates everyone in the house
