Story
Mac is about as close to the perfect dog that you can get, affectionate but not demanding, calm but loves to play catch, the very definition of “chill” and oh yea…he is a looker. He has no anxieties and is fine being alone. Mac would not do well in a multi pet household as he can be possessive with his humans when at home. He is great on a leash but enjoys being outside in a fenced yard, especially in winter. Full disclaimer, I have never walked him on a leash where other dog walkers are present. When we go to the dog park he is friendly to every human and dog but he is fiercely territorial and does not like to share when at home. He does not like to be brushed so visits to a very experienced groomer are necessary. My health is forcing me to downsize which is why I am looking for a new home for him. I plan on postponing any changes in my life until I know that Mac is with a good family. I am willing to assist in any way to make sure you/he are compatible and that he is happy.

Story
I don't know exactly what type of dog she is. I brought from a clinic where I use to work. I believe he said she was a shepherd hound. but I don't know. The dog is very high energy and I work a lot and so do my kids. It's not fair to her to be lock in a cage all day. I got her when she was a puppy. I had her for about a year and a half now. she is a good guard dogs and she plays well with my daughter dog, but I don't know how she would do with other dogs and cats. she is a little fighitsy in the beginning with people and pets but after she is around you for a little bit then she is ok.

Story
My daughter and her grandma adopted Coco from a shelter in Colorado. We’ve been working with a trainer while trying to get her acclimated to our other dogs but have been unsuccessful. Coco is great with cats and humans, and what seems to be smaller dogs (our other dogs are quite large). We are currently working on house training which will be complete in the next couple of weeks. We are continuing to work with a trainer in the interim as well, but unfortunately can’t make the commitment long term. She is incredibly sweet and would make a wonderful family dog with the proper continued training.

Story
Hi I’m Fred! I found my way to the rescue with my brothers and sisters when I was just 5 weeks old. Now I’m 5 months old and I’m still looking for my forever family. I’m a really good boy so I don’t know why it’s taken this long. I can be a little shy at first so maybe I don’t stand out but I’m a smart and I listen very well and once we’re friends (which doesn’t take long, especially with snacks!) I a good cuddler too! I had my first outing and went to a restaurant and ordered off the dog menu. It was a lot of new things for me but I think I liked it! With more practice I will get more confident. Did I mention I love to play with other dogs and kids! I like having friends to learn from. Fred is about 5 months old and weighs 30 lbs. His mom is a heeler mix and his dad is a shepherd mix. His adoption fee is $395 including transport and includes current shots, microchip, neuter and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. If you are interested in Fred email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com for an application.

Story
Introducing our delightful 18-month-old, 80 lb German Shepherd! 🐾 This sweet boy is already housebroken and enjoys spending most of his time indoors. While he's friendly with fellow dogs, it's important to note that he's not a fan of cats. His calm demeanor is balanced by moments of exuberant playfulness, making him a wonderful companion for both relaxation and fun. He absolutely adores human attention and eagerly joins you for walks and runs, reveling in every adventure. His protective instincts shine as he diligently watches over both home and yard, always staying close by your side. Squirrels don't stand a chance against his playful pursuit, and the symphony of his barks for passing garbage trucks adds a touch of excitement to the day. Remarkably well-mannered, he's proven himself by not chewing or destroying anything, except for that one time he couldn't resist some tantalizing countertop food! 😄 But don't let that fool you; his heart is pure gold. And let's not forget his unique talent - a groaning voice that remarkably resembles a full-grown man's! If you're seeking a loyal, loving, and occasionally hilarious furry friend to enrich your life, look no further than this endearing German Shepherd. He's ready to bring joy, laughter, and companionship into your home. 🐶❤️ Buddy is in Texas, but his $395 adoption fee includes transport to you.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
This handsome man is Stark. He is 6.5 years old & has been with me for 5 years. He came from living with a trainer/training to be a working dog. The Good: -prong collar trained -Very loyal -extremely intelligent -extremely affectionate with the people he knows, including an infant in the home. -crate trained and will crate himself -has had professional board and train training -knows all basic commands -potty trained -muzzle trained -food aggression training -up to date on vaccines -good with living with cats / dogs if introduced properly The Bad: -Reactive to dogs who get anywhere near our property -If he gets loose he will go after other animals -Bite history. Will bite once and run off if he feels owners need protection. -Loyal to a fault - he feels like everything is a threat to owners We are so sad to have to go this route but he would be better off with someone who he doesn’t feel he needs to protect so aggressively.
