Story
You know that feeling when you meet someone who just gets you? That’s Holly, a 2.5-year-old shepherd mix who rolled into our Wisconsin rescue in January, from Texas. She was a bit of a mystery at first, on a medical hold while we figured out her needs, but now? She’s pure sunshine, trotting through her foster farm with a goofy grin, weaving between horses and chickens, and loving the resident dogs. Cats, though... she’s got a nosy streak, so let’s keep her home cat-free! Holly’s got this quiet magic. She’ll flop onto the grass to soak up the sun, or lean into your hand for a scratch, like she’s saying, “This is enough.” She’s crate-trained, housebroken, and fits into any dog crew like she was born for it. But here’s the deal: Holly’s epileptic, kept steady with Phenobarbital and Keppra. She’s a fighter, and she needs someone just as strong- someone who’ll see her seizures as a small part of her huge heart. Whether you’ve got a farm where she can roam or a cozy couch for her to claim, Holly’s ready to be your ride-or-die. She’s not perfect, but she’s perfectly Holly: quirky, brave, and ready to love you with everything she’s got. If Holly’s tugging at your soul, don’t wait. Apply at www.HBWI.org/adopt and give this girl the home she’s been dreaming of! FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Story
Bruce is guessed to be between ten months and one year old - he is very much a clumsy boy who is learning how to be a grown up. He will, like all dogs, require continued training. That said, he does not have wild puppy energy, though he does love to play, and he knows quite a few asks already like sit, down, and leave it. He walks very well on a leash, and has gotten along with all of the dogs and kids he's met. He doesn't have any cat friends, but, based on his demeanor, it's likely he'll do just fine with appropriate introductions. Bruce is about sixty pounds, and he's working on gaining weight. He also still may be growing, pending his age, so there is a chance he will be closer to a typical GSD-size (70+ pounds). It's suspected that Bruce is a 'pure bred,'* but we don't know for sure, and, also, we couldn't care less. He's perfect no matter what! Bruce is potty trained and is working on crate training. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and diagnostics, on prevention.

Story
Bear is a sweet, loving, gentle gaint at 100lbs. Bear is full of energy. Bear loves to walks but he tend to walk me instead. He loves to play tug of war, keep away and although he doesn't know how to drop his toy, he loves to fetch. An ideal home for Bear is lots of room and a big yard. Bear is full of energy. While Bear can jump into your car, he cannot climb stairs. Bear is fully potty-trained and crate trained. he does not climb on furniture, is not scared of fireworks or thunderstorms. He knows his basic commands like sit and lay down but he has a hard time with leash pulling. Bear is so awesome and he is not a barker. He gets along with cats, other dogs and kids.

All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. December 4, 2025, 5:01 pm
