Story
You know that feeling when you meet someone who just gets you? That’s Holly, a 2.5-year-old shepherd mix who rolled into our Wisconsin rescue in January, from Texas. She was a bit of a mystery at first, on a medical hold while we figured out her needs, but now? She’s pure sunshine, trotting through her foster farm with a goofy grin, weaving between horses and chickens, and loving the resident dogs. Cats, though... she’s got a nosy streak, so let’s keep her home cat-free! Holly’s got this quiet magic. She’ll flop onto the grass to soak up the sun, or lean into your hand for a scratch, like she’s saying, “This is enough.” She’s crate-trained, housebroken, and fits into any dog crew like she was born for it. But here’s the deal: Holly’s epileptic, kept steady with Phenobarbital and Keppra. She’s a fighter, and she needs someone just as strong- someone who’ll see her seizures as a small part of her huge heart. Whether you’ve got a farm where she can roam or a cozy couch for her to claim, Holly’s ready to be your ride-or-die. She’s not perfect, but she’s perfectly Holly: quirky, brave, and ready to love you with everything she’s got. If Holly’s tugging at your soul, don’t wait. Apply at www.HBWI.org/adopt and give this girl the home she’s been dreaming of! FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

He’s is a loving and energetic dog, and great with my kids. The problem is that we just do not have the space or time to give him the life and attention he needs. We want him to go to a home with a fenced yard and ideally someone who can play with him everyday. He’s 2, turning 3 in June.

He is no longer in the Arkansas shelter and is beginning the next chapter of his journey while he waits for his forever family. Meet Riggs Riggs is a male German Shepherd mix (best guess), about 1 year old, and already neutered. He is a friendly, happy dog with an easygoing personality who enjoys being around people and other dogs. Riggs does well with other dogs and would be a good fit for a home looking for a young dog with a positive, social temperament. At his age, he will benefit from continued structure, training, and regular activity to help him continue adjusting to life in a home environment. Now that Riggs is in foster care, we will continue learning more about his personality, manners, and preferences as he settles in. From Riggs’ Foster: Riggs is doing amazing! He’s fully potty trained, did great with his bath, and already knows sit, down, and off. We’re working on paw and lay down—he’s very smart and treat-motivated. I think he would be a good potential service dog. He’s a total cuddle bug who loves sleeping with me and even watches TV. He walks beautifully on a leash without pulling and enjoys playing fetch (I’m doing most of the fetching). Indoors, he’ll usually bring toys back and drop them when asked. We went to PetSmart where Riggs picked out his own new toy. Riggs loves all his toys, but his favorite is a stuffed mallard duck that honks and crinkles—and it always goes to bed with him. Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. Story
Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs!Updated: 1/23/2026 Dog Name: Scheppy Sex: Male Estimated Breed: German Shepherd mix Approximate Age: 1 year  Estimated Date of Birth: 1/8/25 Approximate Weight: 85 lbs Spay/Neuter Status: Neutered Description:  Scheppy is house trained, crate trained and a big sweetheart who wants to get love and give love! Scheppy was surrendered back to TW911 after his adopter decided he was too much energy. Now Scheppy is getting regular exercise, playtime, and training.  Scheppy loves to play with other energetic dogs! He would play all day if he could! He plays nicely with other dogs and shares his toys very nicely. One thing about this guy is he loves the ball!   Scheppy’s leash skills have improved dramatically in a short time. He almost never pulls but he’s very curious about his new neighborhood so he isn’t great at walking a straight line. He is also working on recall.  Scheppy loves everyone he meets but is still a puppy in a big body. He can be spatially unaware and is still mouthy like a puppy so he probably shouldn’t be in a home with little kids who do not understand that. If you are looking for an active companion with lots of love to give, beautiful Scheppy is the guy for you!  Adoption Fee: $450We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. January 23, 2026, 10:03 pm

Story
Bruce is guessed to be between ten months and one year old - he is very much a clumsy boy who is learning how to be a grown up. He will, like all dogs, require continued training. That said, he does not have wild puppy energy, though he does love to play, and he knows quite a few asks already like sit, down, and leave it. He walks very well on a leash, and has gotten along with all of the dogs and kids he's met. He doesn't have any cat friends, but, based on his demeanor, it's likely he'll do just fine with appropriate introductions. Bruce is about sixty pounds, and he's working on gaining weight. He also still may be growing, pending his age, so there is a chance he will be closer to a typical GSD-size (70+ pounds). It's suspected that Bruce is a 'pure bred,'* but we don't know for sure, and, also, we couldn't care less. He's perfect no matter what! Bruce is potty trained and is working on crate training. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and diagnostics, on prevention.
