Story
Bear is a sweet, loving, gentle gaint at 100lbs. Bear is full of energy. Bear loves to walks but he tend to walk me instead. He loves to play tug of war, keep away and although he doesn't know how to drop his toy, he loves to fetch. An ideal home for Bear is lots of room and a big yard. Bear is full of energy. While Bear can jump into your car, he cannot climb stairs. Bear is fully potty-trained and crate trained. he does not climb on furniture, is not scared of fireworks or thunderstorms. He knows his basic commands like sit and lay down but he has a hard time with leash pulling. Bear is so awesome and he is not a barker. He gets along with cats, other dogs and kids.

Story
About Me: Name: Majestic Aventurine Breed (or best guess): Mixed - possibly German Shepherd/Cattle Dog Approximate Age: 8 months Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 43 lb Adoption Fee: $495 each Requirements: Loving Family with patience Why In Rescue: Texas Transfer Profile:    Foster Update:   We have been calling him Draco and he responds to that really well! He is super curious about everything and loves to explore. He is a gentle giant (well maybe not as big as a giant) who loves cuddles and attention. He gets along with all dogs big and small. He is potty trained and kennel trained. He is very smart, he knows sit, and gets a routine down very quickly. Original profile:  Majestic Aventurine came to us from our Texas rescue partner where he was waiting for a rescue for months.  He is bigger than the usual dogs we rescue but he deserved a chance at life and his time was up in Texas.  He spent most of his time living in an outside kennel, so living inside is new to him.  He does alert bark to people he doesn't know, and needs a bit of time to become comfortable with new people, but he is a great dog who just needs a chance!  Don't delay in filling out the pre-adoption application so you can meet one of these cute dogs! If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to.  We do put the needs of each particular dog first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a specific dog isn't suitable for your home or living situation. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS September 17, 2025, 2:55 pm

Story
Bruce is guessed to be between ten months and one year old - he is very much a clumsy boy who is learning how to be a grown up. He will, like all dogs, require continued training. That said, he does not have wild puppy energy, though he does love to play, and he knows quite a few asks already like sit, down, and leave it. He walks very well on a leash, and has gotten along with all of the dogs and kids he's met. He doesn't have any cat friends, but, based on his demeanor, it's likely he'll do just fine with appropriate introductions. Bruce is about sixty pounds, and he's working on gaining weight. He also still may be growing, pending his age, so there is a chance he will be closer to a typical GSD-size (70+ pounds). It's suspected that Bruce is a 'pure bred,'* but we don't know for sure, and, also, we couldn't care less. He's perfect no matter what! Bruce is potty trained and is working on crate training. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and diagnostics, on prevention.

Story
Say hello to DINO! This bundle of joy came into the rescue and stole everyone’s heart immediately. His kind endearing eyes will make your heart melt. Dino was a puppy that was found by a wonderful person at the person’s place of employment. He fed Dino daily and allowed him to sleep in his car on his lunch breaks. Dino remained loyal and stayed around the place of work until they reached out for help from the rescue. To this day he loves cars and feels very safe from the outside cruel world inside of one. Dino has now been placed in a loving foster home and is learning to play wonderful with the foster’s big dogs and puppies that are fostering with him half his size. Dino is doing great in a crate and potty training. This guy catches on really quick. He is so appreciative of having a safe environment to thrive. He will lay on you or keep his head in your lap forever if you will allow. Personality: Dino is goofy, energetic, and playful! He does well with correction. Dino would be great in a home with another dog to keep showing the ropes of puppy life. He is soooooo ready to be your new best friend and would love a home where he can grow to be a wonderful life long family companion. Once adopted Dino will travel via the Rescue Transport to his new family. They travel each weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the northeast, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make this cutie part of your family, please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
A?strid - almost 4 years old - is a beautiful, intelligent German Shepherd who embodies many classic traits of her breed: loyal, protective, and deeply bonded to her people. She’s looking for a calm, structured home where she can truly thrive as the only pet.?S?he is incredibly affectionate with her ?foster family. Once she’s warmed up to you, she’ll seek out your attention, follow you around the house, and even crawl into your lap for cuddles on her own terms. She’s housebroken, kennel-trained, and knows several commands like sit, wait, kennel, and ok (release). She even comes when you whistle! In true shepherd fashion, ?A?stird is protective of her home and will ?alert bark at strangers. She requires slow, patient introductions to new people, but once she feels safe, her sweet, silly side shines through. She`s a great mix of playful and cuddly — she loves a good game of fetch and enjoys `talking` to let you know when she wants something.?S?he walks well on a leash?, but should be held close when passing other dogs.?S?he does well with older, respectful children but is too stimulated by the fast movements of small kids, so a home without young children is best. She also loves being outside in a securely fenced yard, where she can patrol and chase the occasional squirrel or rabbit?, but that is not required.?S?he thrives in routine and familiarity — she’s not a fan of car rides or busy environments and prefers to stay close to home. If you`re a shepherd-savvy ?family looking for a devoted companion to share your quiet home, ?A?strid might just be your perfect match. With time, patience, and love, ?she will reward you with deep loyalty, silly antics, and endless affection.?Could this be you?

Story
Ellie is a gorgeous 11 month old female dog. We believe her to be a Malinois or Malinois mix. She currently weighs about 40 pounds. We expect her fill out a little more, but do not expect her to get much larger. Ellie was abandoned in rural Texas. Either prior to being abandoned or while living on her own her rear leg was severely injured. After being picked up by animal control and being brought to the shelter, she received the amputation she desperately needed. She has now healed, gained weight, and is ready to be adopted! She gets along well with other dogs and she loves people of all ages. She is high energy- she doesn't let one less leg get her down! She would love an active family who will train her to her full potential! She is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and she comes with her medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies her to be in good condition. Her adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. If she does not receive an adoption hold prior to his arrival in WI, she will be available to meet at our upcoming adoption events or by appointment with her foster family. If you’re not already familiar with our group, please feel free to visit our Group Page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity If you are serious about this pup, please contact us at DogTrailRides@gmail.com.
