It is an unusual name related to a wolf in Norse mythology; I guess I do look a bit like a fuzzy wolf. German Shepherd Dogs can look a little imposing but truth be told I am sort of a marshmallow. I can be a little cautious in new situations or with new people but if everyone is patient and gives me time to take things at my own pace, I soon make a new BFF and be a 100-pound lapdog. I lived with a family my whole life but they realized they did not have enough time to give me the quality of life a pooch deserves, so I came to WCHS to find a new home. I am an athletic boy who thrives on challenging activities and exercise. I love to run, play fetch and chase tennis balls. Going for walks is another of my favorite activities because it is important to get fresh air and I love to soak in all the smells; I must confess that I do pull a bit on a leash. I enjoy learning so I hope we can participate in fun canine activities like agility, rally, nose work or dog parkour. I am very smart and know many human words. I know the cues for ‘sit', ‘down', ‘paw/shake', ‘stay', ‘spin', ‘high five', ‘drop it' and ‘kiss'. It is important to keep my brain busy, so it would be great to try my paw at mentally challenging toys and games. In my previous home I learned to whine a bit and nudge my person to let them know I needed to go outside to use the facilities. While I am adjusting to my new home, I would suggest plenty of bathroom breaks while we are learning each other's routines and signals. I am comfortable in a crate when I am alone and consider it my private cozy den where I can chill and relax; a long-lasting tasty treat is always a bonus. I was fortunate in my previous home that I could roam free at night and spend time on the couch, in my person's bed or on my comfy dog-bed; variety is the spice of life. I do like to hang out with other pups, although I prefer a polite and proper greeting because I start out a tad shy. I used to attend doggy daycare and played with a couple cockapoos in the neighborhood. I enjoy car rides and hope to accompany you on many adventures because I love my time with people; I promise to be loyal forever.
