He is super curious about everything and loves to explore. He is a gentle giant (well maybe not as big as a giant) who loves cuddles and attention. He gets along with all dogs big and small. He is potty trained and kennel trained. He is very smart, he knows sit, and gets a routine down very quickly. Original profile:  Majestic Aventurine came to us from our Texas rescue partner where he was waiting for a rescue for months.  He is bigger than the usual dogs we rescue but he deserved a chance at life and his time was up in Texas.  He spent most of his time living in an outside kennel, so living inside is new to him.  He does alert bark to people he doesn't know, and needs a bit of time to become comfortable with new people, but he is a great dog who just needs a chance!  Don't delay in filling out the pre-adoption application so you can meet one of these cute dogs! We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. ARRIVING IN WISCONSIN FEBRUARY 6th! Cali is a beautiful 3-year-old shepherd mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. She originally belonged to an elderly man who sadly passed away, and through no fault of her own, Cali found herself without a home. She has spent much of the past year living in kennel care, patiently waiting for her second chance — and she’s more than ready to finally have a family again. Despite everything she’s been through, Cali is described as very sweet, friendly, and great with other dogs. She does well spending time around canine companions and enjoys human attention just as much. Cali is heartworm negative and has been kept on prevention. She’s affectionate, calm, and would thrive in a home where she can settle in, build trust, and enjoy the comforts she’s been missing. Cali has waited long enough — she’s ready to trade kennel life for couches, walks, and a family to call her own. She is potty trained in Texas, however her new family should be prepared to do additional training while she learns the routine at her new home in WI. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and she comes with her medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies her to be in good condition. She will be arriving in Muskego, WI on Friday, February 6th, and will be available to meet, and take home if she is a good fit, by the first family to have placed an exclusive hold deposit as set out below. Her adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. She is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $250, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption on Friday February 6th. If upon meeting, she is not a good fit for your family, the deposit is refundable. We ask that you are serious about your intent to adopt before placing a deposit, so as not to prevent her from finding his forever family in the meantime, as we only accept one deposit per dog.
