On 12/6, she made it safely out of Arkansas and traveled to Wisconsin, where she is now settling beautifully into her foster home. From Her Foster: Sweet Pea is settling in very nicely! She loves to play with the resident dogs and absolutely loves the snow. Sweets slept overnight in her crate and is definitely living up to her name. She is loving to everyone she meets and is one smart puppy. Her foster mom says she will make a wonderful addition to any family looking for a furry family member. This little girl is all heart and still learning the ropes, as all puppies are, but her warm, affectionate personality makes her a wonderful fit for many types of homes. Explore our adoptable animals and find your perfect match today! For the latest updates on the mutts, follow us on Facebook: @muttlifewi Visit our website: Muttlife.org Meet Ghost Ghost’s is looking for a new forever home. Adopted as a 3-month-old puppy in March, this sweet boy has grown into a happy, affectionate companion. Now 11 months old, he’s looking for a new home due to his previous owners not having enough time to work with him now that he's not the little puppy the originally adopted. With the right support and stability, Ghost has every opportunity to thrive. Ghost is fully potty trained, social, playful, and truly an all-around good dog. He gets along great with other dogs and is good with kids, though we recommend older children since his enthusiastic play may accidentally knock over little ones. He hasn’t been around cats, so his cat friendliness is unknown. Ghost is smart, eager to please, and very treat-motivated. He already knows several commands, including sit, stay, down/lay down, shake, come, go potty, and leave it. He’s the perfect match for someone who enjoys dog training and wants a young dog who can continue learning new tricks and skills. . Outside, he loves walks, hikes, yard time, and exploring. He does best with an active lifestyle that helps him burn off his puppy energy. Inside, he is cuddly and absolutely loves to snuggle up with his people. He likes to chew on bones and toys. Really, his only challenge is his separation anxiety when nobody is home. He does fine in his crate when his humans are home, but does not like being left for longer periods of time and tries to escape his crate. His current foster is working with him to improve his crate training. He would do best with someone who works from home, is retired, or has a flexible schedule so he doesn’t need to spend long hours alone. Ghost is leash trained and great on walks. He is not off-leash trained yet. He is currently being fostered with 5 other dogs and 2 cats and does well with everyone. He was great with the initial meeting and is nothing but friendly. He is not violent towards the cats, but pretty interested since hes never seen them before and they are working on it. He is a beautiful boy and is a very tall and lanky guy. One of his sibilings was genetic tested and that is the last photo. He is about 3/4 german shepherd. Ghost’s Information Age: 11 months Gender: Male (neutered) Weight: 70lbs Breed: German Shepherd Mix Spayed/Neutered: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes, separation anxiety when home alone Leash Manners: Good Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Okay, learning to live with cats Good with Kids: Yes, very friendly Ghost has already shown so much courage and heart. He deserves a loving home where he can grow, learn, and finally feel secure. Could that home be yours? If you can foster or adopt Ghost, please apply today! www.muttlife.org __________ Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer, vaccinations, and heartworm prevention (age appropriate). Story
You know that feeling when you meet someone who just gets you? That’s Holly, a 2.5-year-old shepherd mix who rolled into our Wisconsin rescue in January, from Texas. She was a bit of a mystery at first, on a medical hold while we figured out her needs, but now? She’s pure sunshine, trotting through her foster farm with a goofy grin, weaving between horses and chickens, and loving the resident dogs. Cats, though... she’s got a nosy streak, so let’s keep her home cat-free! Holly’s got this quiet magic. She’ll flop onto the grass to soak up the sun, or lean into your hand for a scratch, like she’s saying, “This is enough.” She’s crate-trained, housebroken, and fits into any dog crew like she was born for it. But here’s the deal: Holly’s epileptic, kept steady with Phenobarbital and Keppra. She’s a fighter, and she needs someone just as strong- someone who’ll see her seizures as a small part of her huge heart. Whether you’ve got a farm where she can roam or a cozy couch for her to claim, Holly’s ready to be your ride-or-die. She’s not perfect, but she’s perfectly Holly: quirky, brave, and ready to love you with everything she’s got. If Holly’s tugging at your soul, don’t wait. Apply at www.HBWI.org/adopt and give this girl the home she’s been dreaming of! FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Story
**I’m currently enjoying a break from the shelter in a foster home, but I’m still looking for my forever family! If you’d like to meet me, please contact the shelter to schedule a visit.Intake Reason: Surrendered, protective of kidsWeight: 88 lbs Known with: ·Cats: Lived with 11yo NM & 8yo SF ·Dogs: Lived with 11yo NM Shep/Husky. Attended doggy day care, played with neighbor dogs.Participates in WCHS`s playgroups. ·Kids: Good with 10mo and 3yo.Fun Facts About Me:•I should probably start with the “elephant” in the room and admit that I have a few pounds to lose so I am looking for a home who will be committed to my weight loss program, feed me a healthy diet, limit my calorie intake and provide daily low impact exercise•I enjoy taking walks and exploring but am not a fan of water so swimming exercise is not for me•I must confess that I get a little wiggly when it is time to trim my nails and I hide when it is time to vacuum the floor because I think they make a scary noise•I have participated in playgroups at the shelter with calm pooches and although I am cool about hanging out with other dogs, I mostly keep to myself•I am a friendly and smart gal who knows the cues for ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘come’ and ‘kennel-up’•In my previous home I knew to go to the door and whine to ask to be let outside to use the facilities•I am comfortable in a crate and in my previous home had a comfy cozy ‘den’ of my own where I could relax and chill when alone or at night•I have been described as a calm couch potato who can be a smidge stubborn at times; sometimes I just need some gentle coaxing to get my body moving•Although I can be a wee bit shy at first, once I am comfortable my true playful nature blossoms•I am a quiet lass but can be a bit vocal when I’m playing•I am an affectionate girl who thinks tender scratches, snuggles and cuddles are lovely#1
