Story
Raine is a 10-month-old male who will shower you with love! He’s a sweet boy who gets along with his foster siblings (male and female dogs), does well with housetraining when on a good schedule, and likes to play like any young GSP! Raine does well in his crate for a few hours a day and enjoys older children. He wants a home committed to his training – people who have the time, patience, and energy to give him! Raine is ready to shine. If you enjoy training, enrichment, and exercise and are ready to bring out the best in him, Raine is ready to join your home and be your new best friend! Note: Raine has a slightly droopy left eye – it’s a condition called “idiopathic Horner’s Syndrome.” The cause is not known and it will most likely improve by itself over time. Monitoring by a vet is recommended. Our adoption process begins with our adoption questionnaire: https://norcalgsprescue.org/adoption-questionnaire/ (Please note that we adopt primarily within Northern California and our minimum age for kids is 6) If you'd like to see what Raine's been up to, check out his/her posting in the Available Foster Dogs section: https://norcalgsprescue.org/available-dogs/. That's where you'll find all the latest info about all of our available dogs. Story
Good news! Esuda is now available for adoption to homes in the western US and Canada! Interested parties outside Northern California need to be willing to drive to the foster home’s location for an in-person meeting prior to or in conjunction with pick-up. Please note that we do not ship dogs. E-Suda. It means, “My Six”; the one who has my back. Meet Esuda, who lives up to his namesake. Esuda is the type of dog that wants to live a quiet life; just be there at home, hang out with his family, and take care of the property. It is a joy to watch Esuda work the field, nose to the ground. He comes from an AKC-registered bloodline and has the stature and instincts to show for it. Esuda is only 5 years old, strong and robust, but also a bit of an old soul. He is quiet and introspective at home and cherishes the bond he has with his person. Therefore he is looking for a calm household, without a bunch of strangers coming and going; without social pressures. Esuda thoroughly enjoys romping and playing, but only with his family – people he knows and has come to trust. Once you have his trust, Esuda has your back. Esuda likes to hang out at home, so hopefully, you’ll live in an outdoorsy place. The middle of a squirrel sanctuary will be just fine, thank you very much. He loves going out for a morning jaunt, but only if it is in a rural place where he does not need to worry about other dogs. They are just too unpredictable! So, home with his family, keeping watch over the property, and his life is full. Esuda is quiet and settled when in his kennel but he feels more comfortable when not confined. That’s why we appreciate that he can be trusted to roam free in or out of the house when his people are away. He does not counter-surf or chew on people things. He has learned quickly who needs to be barked at (like the lawn guy with that loud blower on his back) and who is OK (the next-door neighbor who has a garden along the property line). Esuda is cautious but curious, and a good communicator. He hopes to find a human companion that will be patient and communicative as well. Then he’ll have your back. Please note that Esuda has been diagnosed with low thyroid function. After a trial period without medication, we saw that he suffered without it. The prescription costs only $13 per month, and he will require the pill twice every day. If you’re that special person who wants to hang out at home with your best buddy, take a look at Esuda. Our adoption process begins with our adoption questionnaire: https://norcalgsprescue.org/adoption-questionnaire/ (Please note that we adopt primarily within Northern California and our minimum age for kids is 6) If you'd like to see what Esuda's been up to, check out his/her posting in the Available Foster Dogs section: https://norcalgsprescue.org/available-dogs/. That's where you'll find all the latest info about all of our available dogs. Story
Looking for that sweet Spot? This gentle almost 3-year-old male GSP mix was picked up by animal control. He seemed lost, confused, and a tad scared with a few cuts around his armpits from the harness he had on. We jumped at the chance to rescue him and under the tender loving care of his foster family, this handsome boy is blossoming! Spot  loves humans, is great with other dogs, and is house-trained and crate trained. He is a respectful and well-mannered boy, very good on a leash and stays off furniture. His willingness to please makes him easy to train. Currently, he knows “sit” and continues to learn new cues and tricks every day!  Spot  is an easy-going pup, happy to just hang out at home. Of course, belly rubs are always welcome! Spot is ready to make someone so happy and be the best addition to any home! He is well suited for a calm and gentle family that has lots of time to spend with him, and he’d really enjoy another pup for company. Could that be you?? Our adoption process begins with our adoption questionnaire: https://norcalgsprescue.org/adoption-questionnaire/ (Please note that we adopt primarily within Northern California and our minimum age for kids is 6) If you'd like to see what Spot's's been up to, check out his posting in the Available Foster Dogs section: https://norcalgsprescue.org/available-dogs/. That's where you'll find all the latest info about all of our available dogs. Story
Hudson is  a handsome dude estimated to be about 2 years old. He was found as a stray and no one claimed him. He’s healthy, friendly with people, kids, and dogs.  Hudson would like a home where he gets lots of human attention and continued training. He’s strong and very energetic. Hudson is an excellent jumper and can sail over a 6-foot fence, so he needs secure tall fencing or to be attended at all times when outside. He knows sit and is learning more every day. Hudson enjoys playing ball endlessly.  Our adoption process begins with our adoption questionnaire: https://norcalgsprescue.org/adoption-questionnaire/ (Please note that we adopt primarily within Northern California and our minimum age for kids is 6) If you'd like to see what [NAME]'s been up to, check out his/her posting in the Available Foster Dogs section: https://norcalgsprescue.org/available-dogs/. That's where you'll find all the latest info about all of our available dogs. Story
Annalisa is a beautiful 5-year-old liver female GSP who is ready for her forever home. She’s sweet, playful, friendly with people, and food-motivated.  She knows sit, wait, down, no, in your crate, and come/follow; she pulls on the leash and is learning wait/slow. She can safely be left home alone for 4 – 6 hours. Annalisa’s favorite things are to watch squirrels from the living room window, snuggle, car rides, chew on toys, explore on walks, and eat!  She can be crated when you’re not able to be home. Annalisa would love a home with affectionate adults that can handle her on walks, a yard with high secure fencing to keep her from trying to go over or dig under (or open space to go for walks), and no other dogs in the home – she is touchy with other dogs, doesn’t understand how to play, likely was not socialized well, does not read other dogs’ signals. Story
Sunza, also known as Gabby, needs a new home because her adopter passed away. She is available for direct adoption in the western United States and Canada. Sunza is a cute almost 6-year-old petite GSP/GWP mix. She’s looking for a spot where she can be the only dog in the home – trust us, she doesn’t like other dogs and she’s very protective of her people if dogs of any size are in her orbit. Her adopter described her as her angel dog – sweet, protective and gentle, completely housetrained, so attentive, and fitting in right away. If you’re ready to be the apple of her eye and be the recipient of all of Sunza’s affection, we’d love to hear from you!
