Meet Mufasa! He was chained outside of an auto body shop for a long time. Neighbors heard him crying and reached out for help. Luckily a wonderful woman was contacted and she convinced the owner to surrender Mufasa and thankfully the owner said yes! Thank you to her for helping care for Mufasa until we were able to step in. Mufasa is one amazing, big puppy! He is 2 years old and 90 pounds. Mufasa is a social butterfly and so sweet! He will do best in a home with a person that is around a lot. Mufasa is big and very strong. He can walk nicely on leash but needs a person comfortable and patient handling a large dog. He can sometimes be reactive on leash and will require someone that has time to consistently work with him on leash. Mufasa is working through some separation anxiety. He has been doing excellent in his crate. It will take some time and patience for Mufasa to be comfortable being left alone for longer periods of time. He's completely house trained with no accidents at all! Leo has found the joy of playing with sprinklers and garden hoses so he may be a good pool/beach/lake buddy. He is food (CHEESE!) and toy motivated. He walks well on leash although he can get excited to say "hey" to squirrels, cats and other doggos. He is easily redirected and is working on being more Zen. Meet Kramer, a super handsome young (approx 2 1/2 year old) english setter. Kramer came to us from Turkey where he was abandoned by his former owner to a shelter. Fortunately our rescuer stepped in and got him safe. Kramer is a very happy, energetic boy. He loves giving hugs and cuddling with his people, and playing with his toys. He also loves his walks. Besides cuddling his next favorite thing is taking in all that nature has to offer….watching birds, looking for critters, and generally being a setter! 😂 He is super playful with other dogs, but is quite an exuberant player. He is obsessed with cats, so it would be best to have a cat-free home for him. Once he gets his exercise and exploration done during the day, he is calm and peaceful at night. Kramer is doing well with potty training, but does need access to a fenced yard. Someone with knowledge of the english setter breed would be ideal, but at a minimum an active family who loves being outdoors and wants a cuddly dog inside to share the couch with would also be perfect. Bridget is an adorable setter who was found as a stray in the northern part of Turkey near the Black Sea. The volunteer who found her reached out to our rescuer to see if we would take her. How could we say no?! Bridget arrived recently and has settled in beautifully at her foster home. She is great with other dogs, gets along well with cats, and loves people. Bridget enjoys her walks and is very good on leash. She is a cuddly dog whose preferred place is on your lap or laying next to you on the couch, and sleeping with you in bed. She is discovering the joy of toys, and particularly loves soft toys with squeakers and also things she can chew on like antlers and nylabones. Bridget is a velcro doggie and wants to be where her people are. She’s also ok at home when her people leave for a couple hours. She hasn’t picked up anything inappropriate at her foster home and has been a good houseguest. She has done great with house training, but will need to learn the appropriate place to go and be rewarded for going there at a new home. Bridget will benefit by basic training with her forever family. She is eager to please and treat/food motivated, so training will be easy. She will put her paws up on the counter looking for tidbits and yummy smells, so that will require some consistency and gentle guidance to work through.
