Meet Scooter
Scooter is a big-hearted Great Dane who has discovered that life is a whole lot less stressful when the world isn't moving a hundred miles an hour. Since arriving in foster care, Scooter has shown just how much environment matters. Away from the constant stimulation of busy city life, this handsome brindle boy has learned to relax, settle into a routine, and simply enjoy being a dog.
Scooter is affectionate, playful, and happiest when he's spending time with his people. He loves interactive toys, enjoys learning, and is always ready to join in whatever his family is doing. Once he trusts you, his goofy, happy-go-lucky personality really shines.
One of Scooter's biggest successes has been with other dogs. He's done wonderfully with slow introductions and has even started initiating play! He still doesn't quite understand that he's a 130-pound Great Dane, so larger dog friends who enjoy a playful companion would be his ideal match.
Scooter walks well on a loose leash, rides nicely in the car, is fully potty trained, and settles comfortably in his crate. He knows his basic commands and responds very well to clear, direct communication. His foster believes many of Scooter's previous struggles were less about unwillingness and more about inconsistent handling. With confident leadership, Scooter is eager to please and learns quickly.
Scooter would thrive in a quieter suburban or rural home where he isn't constantly surrounded by the sights and sounds of a busy city. His foster has noticed that removing that daily overstimulation has made a tremendous difference in his ability to relax and enjoy life.
Because of his history, Scooter's ideal home will have older children rather than toddlers. He has done well meeting older kids when introductions are thoughtful, but a home without very young children is the safest fit.
Like many Great Danes, Scooter occasionally believes kitchen counters were designed for snack storage, so future adopters will want to keep tempting treats out of reach! He also has a sensitive stomach and does best when his food stays consistent, without frequent changes or lots of new treats.
Scooter isn't looking for perfection. He's looking for someone who understands that the right environment, patient leadership, and a little consistency can help an already wonderful dog truly thrive.

All approved applications are good for 12 months. Meet and greets can be scheduled with approved adopters. All dogs adopted from Just Giants Rescue are up to date on vaccines (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Some exceptions may apply. All adoption fees are non-refundable; Just Giants is a NFP 501(c)3 organization.
Meet and greets can be scheduled with approved adopters.
Transportation from the foster home to the adopter is the responsibility of the adopter to coordinate. Just Giants does not adopt outside of the continental US.
