Meet Maggie, A Wonder Woman Wearing a Catwoman Mask 🐶 Once a volunteer accidently dropped her leash and let her run away. Within minutes, Maggie returned on her own and gave the volunteer a big hug. She even brought a stick as a peace offering. It is amazing to see Maggie still has complete faith in humanity despite of surviving from Mass Dog Slaughterhouse. Maggie will love you whether you live in a little trailer or a big house. No matter what kind of mood you are in, Maggie can always make you smile. Can you be a special someone to give Maggie a home?

Story
Hello, my name is Kyra! I’m an 8 year old Great Dane weighing about 100 pounds. I know I’m a little older, but don’t let that fool you, I’m full of energy, healthy, and love to go on walks. I’m very friendly with everyone, cats, kids, dogs, and even a pig! I know sit, speak, shake, and stay. I walk great on a leash. I am fully potty trained and will tell you when I need to go. I prefer to have my own space when I eat, and I don't like sharing my kennel as it's my safe space. Overall I'm the best girl though and I’d love a home and family to spend the rest of my golden years with.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.March 1, 2024, 9:34 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Peanut, oh Peanut! We are so thrilled this girl is finally ready for her forever home. She has a tragic story but it has a happy ending. This 12-week-old Great Dane puppy -- just a bag of bones at the time -- was left to die in a ditch in Kitsap county, emaciated and unable to even sit or stand. She was taken to Kitsap Humane where she was diagnosed with hypertrophic osteodystrophy -- a painful but treatable autoimmune condition found in large breed puppies. Her prognosis was poor without ongoing medical care and TLC, which the shelter could not provide, and so she would be euthanized without rescue commitment. We accepted her to our program on 11/11/23, and she started her journey to health -- which has included steroid therapy with monitoring of bloodwork and radiographs, and a high-quality diet and supplements to support muscle growth. After over two months of supportive care, Peanut has gained 38 lbs and has regained all of her mobility. She is now 5 months old, 58 lbs, and a normal, happy, playful puppy. She is nearly tapered off her steroids but will need continued  quality diet and supplements, and will not be spayed until she is fully grown.  Foster Update: Peanut began in a medical foster home, then transitioned to a foster home where she has resided with two other large breed dogs, cats and kids. She is a friendly love bug to all and her confidence has grown in leaps and bounds. She has a big Dane voice and loves to play with toys and run around with her canine friends. She has been on walks and done well at dog-friendly places. She is crate trained, house trained (with regular potty breaks) and knows some basic obedience. Her ideal family has Great Dane (or extra-large breed) experience, a resident canine companion, a securely fenced yard, and the means to provide her quality diet and supplements, and vet care as needed. Also, adopters must provide responsible care while she is in heat to prevent pregnancy until she can be safely spayed.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay (at 18-24 months), core vaccinations, recent examination with veterinarian, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. All medical records for her care will be provided upon adoption. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Myles - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! The name Myles comes from the Latin origin meaning 'soldier' or 'warrior'. A big strong name denoting strength and courage for a big boy like me! I am around 2 years old with a very sweet and goofy personality. I does great with people both tall and small and with the other foster pups here. I love playing and am an active boy that would do great tagging along on all your action packed adventures. I come in at 100lbs, a big boy for sure but that 100lbs is 100% pure love!! Although it does mean that I can jump a fence with little problems so I can't be left outside on my own. I am house and crate trained which is a great bonus for my new family! My beautiful coat is short and sleek, with minimal shedding using a soft bristled brush just a few times a week. And using doggie wipes comes in handy to keep me fresh and clean in between bathes. AND that, you do know, leaves lots of extra time for YOU and ME time, my favoritest time!! If you have a heart big enough for a big boy like me, I will for sure be leaving my paw prints all over it and I'll have you wrapped around my little pinkie...err, guess that'd be little toe in no time at all!! You just need to stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application and I'll take it from there!

Story
Molly was found as a stray in San Antonio. She is now in a Seattle area foster home with a mom, dad, 2 teens and a senior dog. ***she is able to catch a ride up north if her forever home is found in Canada:) Molly looks like a baby giraffe! She's tall and lean. We think she is part great dane with maybe some lab and pitbull mixed in:) She LOVES people, including kids. She seems to be afraid of dogs at first, especially obnoxious ones. She's slow to warm to large dogs, however, she's becoming more confident every day in foster care. She loves the small dog in her foster home although he's not impressed with her. She takes it all in stride and will seek him out to cuddle. She does great meeting people out and about and enjoys going on errands. Her foster mom has taken her to training and she has great obedience. She's great at place! Molly is motivated by food and even likes broccoli and cauliflower...check out her YouTube link for proof!! Molly is about 18 months old, is potty trained and crate trained. She walks well on leash and loves to hang out with her people. Her adoption fee is $550 and includes her transport, vaccinations, spay and microchip. 100% of the fee goes to her care. Please contact Karin at karinkeith@hotmail.com for more information.
