Story
We are on the payroll for loads of petting! That’s a pretty easy gig if you want our opinion. We went to a couple of community event and were told we both did a great job interacting with people of all ages and doggies. We were very patient with everyone and even got to spend some time relaxing in people’s lap. So we can’t wait to join a family, maybe even getting adopted with my sibling. Don’t forget that the second adoption fee is 50% off for Double the Love, Double the Fun! Sandy and Simon

Story
Meet Nellie Nellie, a Great Pyrenees, joined BAARK when her owner was no longer able to care for himself, much less her. As such, she was in pretty rough physical condition when she was surrendered, but clearly had received plenty of attention and love. Nellie is estimated to be 7-8 years old and weighs about 80 lbs. When meeting new people, Nellie is a little shy at first. We believe that this is because she had very little exposure to new people when with her previous owner. However, in her foster home, with patience and, in following the lead of her new canine friends, Nellie has really blossomed. She now gives kisses and lots of tail wags when her foster mom and dad get home from work. She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. In typical Great Pyr fashion, she loves patrolling the fence line and she is especially in tune to large birds flying overhead. Her foster family appreciates her level of alert, as Nellie watches over her much smaller foster brother and sisters in the home. Nellie is housebroken and is just fine being un-crated at home by herself. Nellie joined our rescue organization back in June. She is just becoming available for adoption as she has a long recovery from a mass removal on her paw pad (benign). She has 3 toes on that paw but gets around just fine. Nellie is in overall great health. She’s spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventative. If you are interested in adding this wonderful senior to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
Looking for a loyal companion with personality plus? Sherlock is your guy! This clever pup may have started life solving mysteries on his own, but now his greatest investigation is finding his forever home. Sherlock is a character with a silly, goofy, rule-bending personality. His favorite way to show affection? A good game of fetch! In fact, if you want to win this detective's heart, just bring a tennis ball to your meet-and-greet. The perfect partner for Sherlock will understand his unique needs. He is protective by nature, and his ideal home would be an adult-only household that can provide structure and consistency. Sherlock is very wary of strangers and it takes him some time to warm up to new people. But once you're in his inner circle, you'll discover a deeply affectionate and sweet soul who will bring endless joy to your life. He's currently working with trainers to polish his good-boy skills and is excited to show them off to the right family. Sherlock is dog-selective – he prefers dogs that are more playful and relaxed. He doesn’t get along with cats, however, and prefers to keep his investigations feline-free. Ready to be the Watson to this Sherlock? Contact us to learn more about this special boy! Story
**Angel: A Gentle Soul with a Heart of Gold!**"Hello, wonderful humans! I'm Angel, and I'm ready to bring a touch of sweetness and a whole lot of love into your life. At one year old, I'm a beautiful Great Pyrenees mix (about 74%, they tell me!) with a gentle spirit and a heart that's just bursting with affection.I absolutely adore snuggling with my humans, and I have the best manners! I sit politely, offer a gentle paw for attention, and when I get really excited, I give the cutest little smile. I'm a laid-back kind of gal, a bit of a hippy chick, if you will, and I love spending time outdoors, especially on my foster family's little hobby farm.I get along great with kids, cats, and small dogs, though sometimes my puppy enthusiasm can be a bit much for the seniors! I'm a social butterfly and love making new friends, especially at doggy daycare! I enjoy having matching collar and leash sets, soft fuzzy bedding, chew toys, and stuffies of all sizes – I believe every dog deserves the finer things in life!I walk well on a leash, though I'm still working on my manners and sometimes get a little excited. And I'm proud to say I'm potty trained! I was adopted as a puppy, but my family had to move to an apartment, which wasn't the right fit for me. I'm looking for a loving home with a yard and humans who have the time to give me the exercise and attention I need.I’m a playful girl and love other dogs that share my play style. I get along wonderfully with my 34-pound foster sibling. I’ve been enjoying my time in doggy daycare and love to play. Now, I do have a bit of a wiggle in my step sometimes, and the vet has noted a mild hip dysplasia and luxating patella. We're keeping a close eye on it, and I'll be going back for a re-check soon to make sure everything's still looking good. While I generally love to play and move, I do favor my leg at times, and it's possible I might need surgery in the future. To make sure I'm in tip-top shape, I'm up to date on my vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and have had my Bordetella shot. My adoption fee is $500.**A Note to Potential Adopters:**"All adopters must be prepared to provide a loving and supportive home, including ongoing training, appropriate exercise, and continued veterinary care."**To apply to adopt Angel, please scamper on over to www.biggiepawsrescue.org and fill out an application! I'm waiting with paws crossed!**P.S. I'm a sweet and gentle soul, and I can't wait to find my forever family!"DATCP # 494550

Thankfully, a kind-hearted Good Samaritan stepped in, and we were able to bring them to safety.
