Story
Vinnie would love to meet you! In fact, he loves meeting everybody! This hefty boy enjoys being around his family and meeting new friends too. He enjoys long walks, but really likes to lounge around outside in the sun. In the home, Vinnie would be best as an only pet because he does get jealous. Out and about, Vinnie absolutely loves meeting other dogs, cats, and even ferrets! Vinnie is house trained and is working on crate training, but would prefer a family where someone is home more often than not. Overall, Vinnie's such a great dog, and would be a perfect candidate to take out with you wherever you go- baseball game? Easy! Outdoor bar? Perfect! Vinnie will be your best buddy, and make new friends wherever he goes. He is the perfect wingman! Recently in November 2022, Vinnie underwent some tests due to chronic tummy issues and it was discovered he has a fiber responsive irritable bowel syndrome. Vinnie is on a special food to help, and this food does cost approximately $100/month. We know this may deter many families, but know Vinnie is so worth it and will find the right people willing to do whatever it takes to care for this special boy!   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Story
What better way to make a fast friend than a common enemy? Thurman is distrustful of motorized scooters, delivery trucks, and occasionally his own shadow. If you also dislike big city noises and have a dash of caution about the world around you, this is your guy! Thurman is more comfortable in a quiet neighborhood or rural environment but is learning to be brave in his Chicago foster home. When he first arrived from Arkansas everything from cars to snow shovels made him watchful. Routine, a consistent walking route, and positive reinforcement have helped Thurman become a confident, loose leash walker. Now, he strolls proudly, head held high, with the help of a harness and a double leash - a stylish ensemble for this strong, excited, and sometimes slightly cautious explorer. Fortunately, there are many things in his new life that Thurman does like! He is happy to make new friends, both canine and human. He is a gentle giant that enjoys lounging on the couch or on the patio with his foster people and two tiny resident dogs. Not only is he respectful of space and resources, but he is super gentle with his small fur buddies though he prefers not to compete over chasing critters with any canine companion. This 8-year-old senior has been a lovely guest and is completely house trained; he signals by whining near his fosters, and then walking to the door and waiting.Thurman is a perfect gentleman! Left alone, he's impeccably well-behaved, showing great respect for both the surroundings and his foster's belongings. With such stellar manners, Thurman skips the crate - he's just that trustworthy. The occasional barks join the scene, reserved for the vacuum's noisy ventures or the lively romps of squirrels, chipmunks, and rabbits. Speaking of critters, he loves to be outside, and is happy to keep his surroundings free of rodents. His gentle nature, soulful eyes, and big fluffy snuggles will melt your heart. Story
My name is Ursula, like the purple character in The Little Mermaid because my foster parents are Disney addicts. I have the best golden fur and white socks on my front paws! I also know how to smile, you need to see it! I'm about 4-months old and am expected to be a big girl weighing around 60 pounds because I'm a Golden/Pyrenees mix. I came all the way from Alabama with my brother Tarzan. I am an adventurous lady: I love to run in the yard and chase my foster brothers - they are 60 and 100 pounds but that does not scare me one bit! I love to be held like a baby. I love to talk and I will bark if I want attention, but who wouldn't give me any? My foster parents kept telling me I am very smart and very sweet; I already learned how to sit. If you want to see it for yourself, apply to meet me. See you soon! Interested in adopting this dog?
