Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Catalina is a beautiful & loving, approximately 3 year old, Great Pyrenees (maybe lab mix).  She has all the wonderful qualities of the breed - including loyalty, gentleness, affectionate, laid back, independent & loves to guard her property /people, as she was meant to do. Catalina was a breeding dog that has found her way into rescue, so she can find a stable and loving home, that she deserves.  She is potty and crate trained. She has also learned to use a dog door in her foster home, so she's a quick learner.  Catalina can jump a 4 foot fence, so a 6 foot fence or no fence at all would be ideal for her.  The times that she has gotten out, she just wanted to be closer to her fosters and didn't stray far. She is used to living with other dogs and even farm animals.  She has been around small children and all size dogs.  She is healthy, has been spayed and is ready to find her forever home now! (If you happen to be looking for two, Cookie came from the same property and they get along nicely - not bonded, so they are okay to separate too.) Catalina's adoption fee is $350 - which includes core vaccinations (age appropriate), microchip & spay/neuter at one of our contracted vets (if applicable) *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. While we aim to be as accurate as possible, each animal is individual and their behaviors and personalities can change in different surroundings.  HWMAR holds no guarantees to personality, behavior or breed* Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 30, 2024, 9:34 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sweet Cookie was tied up to a tree, when two HWMAR volunteers saw her.  They immediately knew that they had to do something about the situation.  The owners, while they meant well, just couldn't take her of her anymore.  Cookie looked her, now foster, in the eye and gave her a big hug....and that was it...she was off to a fresh start!  Her soulful eyes will draw you in.  Her sweet natured temperament will make you fall in love.  Her physical needs will help give you a sense of purpose.  She needs an angel. Does she have her quirks?!  Of course!  (I mean, who doesn't?!!) Her body shows the wear & tear she has been through over the years, having litter after litter.  Being tied up to a chain with little medical care has made her wiry hair thin and non existent on her hind quarters.  We are hoping that will resolve over time and with proper nutrition.  Cookie is very itchy and may need ongoing medical care to figure out what is the cause, we are currently experimenting with different solutions.  HWMAR is very hopeful that this girl will look and feel very different 6 months from now.  Better days are ahead for this sweet girl. Cookie is potty and crate trained.  She's very easy going and puts herself to bed around 8pm each night in her crate.  She does enjoy a good fence climb, so she needs to either go to a home with a non scale-able fence or with none at all.  She does well on a leash and gets along just find with all size dogs.  She used to live on a farm but is doing well adjusting to the suburban life.   Are you Cookie's angel on earth? (Please note- if you happen to be looking for two dogs, Catalina came from the same property and they do well together but are not bonded, so can be separated.) Cookie's adoption fee is $175 - which includes core vaccinations (age appropriate), microchip & spay/neuter at one of our contracted vets (if applicable) *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. Story
FAST FACTS:*3 Years Old, 45 Pounds*Sweet, Loving, Playful, Gentle*Medium Energy*People Friendly (older kids best)*Dog Friendly*Cat Friendly*Potty Training *Crate Trained*Training RequiredBIO:Greetings from Rowena. I came from a horrendous puppy mill; a total of 60 dogs were found in the facility and saved by Animal Rescue Corps. All of us were kept chained, given only enough food and water to survive, and barely had contact with humans. I'm now living in an FTF foster home, savoring my freedom, and dreaming of my forever home. I know that taking a chance on a pup who, up until now, has only experienced cruelty is a big ask. But as the volunteers here quickly realized, my previous abusive environment has not defined me. I'm making friends with everyone I encounter - 2-legged and 4-legged alike. And I know that with your love and understanding, I'll soon be able to put my past behind me and become the wonderful canine companion I was always meant to be.A few facts about me. I've discovered the joys of hanging out with other dogs. So if there's another canine in your household to be my buddy and mentor, that would be terrific. I also enjoy having my own patch of grass to explore, so my ideal home will include a fenced yard. As you can see from my photo, I'm on the thin side and need to gain some weight. That won't be hard though, because the first time I was given a treat, my mouth exploded in happiness, and I couldn't wait for another. My food motivation not only will help me fill out but will also make training me easy peasy. Fetching Tails requires adopters of young dogs like me to sign us up for training classes, and I really think the class setting will help me gain more confidence and build our bond together. Speaking of training, I am mostly potty trained; I sometimes need to be reminded it is time to go outside to do my business, but I can hold it for long lengths of time now and overnight. And I'm happy to report that I go in my crate without fuss and quietly settle in, I consider it my safe space and often go in on my own without coaxing.I am a girl with a lot of love to give the special, patient humans who give me a chance to keep blossoming and learning what it really means to be a beloved companion. If that sounds like you, I hope you fill out an adoption application soon!Love and licks,RowenaIf you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.

Story
Meet Sauce Gardner, a lovable 5-month-old pup with a big heart and an even bigger personality! Sauce was rescued from a shelter in Texas, and while we don't know much about his past, we do know that he's making the most of his bright future. At about 6 months old, Sauce is already tipping the scales as a large pup (over 50 pounds), and he's growing into his playful, goofy personality every day. With his sweet, gentle demeanor, Sauce has quickly become the "social butterfly"; of the house, charming everyone from the resident dogs and cats to kids of allages. His foster gave him the name Sauce Gardner after the football player, not just because of his size but because he's got a winning spirit! Sauce is a fast learner and has already mastered commands like sit, paw, and & touch. He's crate-trained, house-training is coming along nicely, and he's a natural on the leash during walks. Though he loves a good toy to chew on, he's easily redirected when needed. When he's not following your every move, he's likely curledup at your feet or napping during office hours, proving to be a loyal and affectionate companion. What makes Sauce truly stand out is his adaptability and easy-going nature. Whether it's hanging out in the yard, playing with other dogs at daycare, he takes everything in stride. He's not one to be left out and wants to be part of everything, from playtime to snuggles. If you're looking for a pup that's both fun-loving and chill, Sauce is your guy. He's sure to make an amazing addition to any family!Interested in adopting this dog? Story
It's me, Dazzle (I know the name Max) and I am here to tell you about myself! I am a charming companion looking for my forever home! I am the perfect blend of playful energy and calm demeanor. I am pure beauty and have a luscious soft coat (if you can't tell by my photos). One of my standout qualities is my excellent leash manners! Some dogs may set me off, but I am redirected easily as I am extremely food motivated. And don't worry, you will get a few private training sessions with me to learn my walking ways!  Other than that, taking a leisurely stroll with me is a joy and a testament to my intelligence and eagerness to please! I am also fully potty trained and will be sure to finish all my business outside.  I am a social dog who loves human interaction after a proper introduction. I am a little shy at first so give me time and once comfortable, I will love all your pets! My ideal home would be one where I can receive undivided attention and love from humans and be the only dog in the house. I would do well in a home with older children, no young kiddos for me! However, with proper introduction and supervision, I can enjoy playdates with other dogs. Once I open up, I am a total goof! I LOVE playing with pumpkin slices my foster mom gives me, and I have a weird fetish of playing with bugs! But it just completes my silly self! I can assure you I am the loyal and affectionate family member missing from your life! Please consider giving me my forever home!
