Story
Milo was super skinny when he came to us from Texas where he was slated for euthanasia due to overcrowding. He is chowing down well in his foster home and should be at a healthy weight soon. This amazing Great Pyrenes is happy to exchange his cowboy boots for winter boots. Milo is a friendly dog who gets along with everyone he meets As he is getting used to our midwestern accents, we are learning a lot about Milo. He needs to be in a home with a high fence. Milo can easily jump a 4 foot fence. If there was a canine jumping in the Olympics, he's be a paw-in for the gold medal._________________________________________________________________________Adoption Donation for Milo is $ 525.00WANT TO MEET MiloThe first step would be for you to go to our website at www.aear.org and then to the “Adopting a Pet” page to read about our Adoption Process which will answer many of your questions and then to fill out an Adoption Application. Also, please visit our very active Facebook Page for updates on Milo and our other adoptable pets with AEAR - www.facebook.com/aear.orgAll our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes. BOSS Available for Adoption FAST FACTSMale Great Pyrenees Mix, 1.5 Year-Old, 70-PoundsSweet, Loving, Snuggly, Smart, HappyMedium EnergyAdores Adults (hasn’t met any kids yet)Potty TrainedCrate TrainedMust Be Only DogFenced Yard PreferredTraining Required Hi all, it’s Boss again. I’ve been at CARE for a while now, and my friends here think it’s time to update my bio, now that they’ve gotten to know me better. To recap, I had a rough start in life. Found as a starving stray, I was taken to an overcrowded shelter in Dallas, temporarily placed ina local foster home, and then transported to Skokie to find my forever person/family. The first thing you I need to tell you about myself Is that I love every adult human I encounter (still waiting to meet some kiddos). My favorite pastime is cuddling with the volunteers and getting lots of pets and hugs. Walks are my second favorite activity. I have good leash manners and take time to “smell the roses,” sniff the other flowers, and roll in the grass. I’m always up for a good game of tug with my red tuggie, and I’ve proven to be the perfect sidekick in the car, jumping right into the back seat and lying down for the ride. As for the basics, I’m potty trained, crate trained, and already know a few commands, such as sit, come, down, and off. I really enjoy learning new things, which is important since obedience training is required for the adoption of large young pups like myself. By the way, I learn especially fast when rewarded with chicken! The only other requirement for my adoption (a fenced yard would be great but not essential) is that I be the only dog in the house, as I can be reactive with other canines. This may change once I’m out of the kennel environment. But for now, I need to be your one and only. I can’t think of anything else to mention, except that I’m hoping this update will make you want to fill out an adoption application and come to meet me. I just have a feeling we’re destined to be together! I have been neutered and microchipped and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-adoption-survey Love and licks,BossSeptember 20, 2023, 2:53 pm

Story
Vinnie would love to meet you! In fact, he loves meeting everybody! This hefty boy enjoys being around his family and meeting new friends too. He enjoys long walks, but really likes to lounge around outside in the sun. In the home, Vinnie would be best as an only pet because he does get jealous. Out and about, Vinnie absolutely loves meeting other dogs, cats, and even ferrets! Vinnie is house trained and is working on crate training, but would prefer a family where someone is home more often than not. Overall, Vinnie's such a great dog, and would be a perfect candidate to take out with you wherever you go- baseball game? Easy! Outdoor bar? Perfect! Vinnie will be your best buddy, and make new friends wherever he goes. He is the perfect wingman! Recently in November 2022, Vinnie underwent some tests due to chronic tummy issues and it was discovered he has a fiber responsive irritable bowel syndrome. Vinnie is on a special food to help, and this food does cost approximately $100/month. We know this may deter many families, but know Vinnie is so worth it and will find the right people willing to do whatever it takes to care for this special boy!   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person.
