Story
Hi there, I'm Jake the Dog! I am a 10 month old Husky/Alaskan Malamute mix. Life in the shelter is fun, but I'm dreaming of a forever home. I'm still young, full of energy and I love to play! I'm smart too. I'm as sweet as can be, always ready for a cuddle or a belly rub. I'm also friendly, I get along with everyone I meet. But what I really want is a family to call my own. Someone who will play with me, teach me new tricks, and give me lots of love. If you're looking for a smart, playful, and sweet dog, I'm your guy! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##2006586##

Story
Hiya, I'm Chester! I'm on stray hold until 04/08/24. I'm a sweet, friendly, independent, smart, playful, and energetic pooch. I ended up here in the shelter because of my love for squirrels. One day, I saw a squirrel, and my paws had a mind of their own! I chased it through the park, across the city, and right into the shelter! Can you believe that? I've been told I have a knack for comedic timing. I'm looking for a forever home with someone who appreciates my squirrel-chasing antics and my love for a good laugh. I promise to fill your life with laughter, energy, and unconditional love. Adopt me and let's create a story full of fun and adventure together! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me.
