Story
This sweet love bug is looking for a “pack” to call her own.  Aurea is a 1-year-9-month-old husky mix.  According the the shelter, she has had a rough 2 years and is ready to be part of a family forever.  She came into the shelter as a puppy and then again just a few months ago.     Aurea is the definition of a love bug… she wants pets, snuggles, and to be with her people.  She knows basic commands and walks on a leash very well.  She loves getting baths!  She loves exploring the yard and keeping it bunny and squirrel-free.  She loves to play fetch and go on walks to sniff and explore the neighborhood.  She gets along with other dogs and loves little people.  She is also crate and house trained.    Aurea’s perfect forever home would have a secure place for her to play ball, other dogs to play with, kids (a little older as she jumps when excited, but getting better), and a soft place to lie down where she can be with her family.  While she has lots of energy outside, she is calm in the house.      Aurea does have some separation anxiety, but she will calm down in her crate after a while.  We would recommend a secure fence for the yard, preferably 6ft.  She is part husky and still young and does need exercise- a walk or running around the yard or fetch.       She is playful, lovable, energetic, and wants to be part of your family! Put in an application today at eapl.com. Her adoption fee is $375 November 28, 2025, 10:51 am

Story
We adopted Dakota 5 years ago, looking for a companion dog who would be a good protector for our home in New Mexico. He was well trained when we brought him home at 2 years old. He is 7 now. He is reactive to young children and other dogs. We wanted to give him a steady home and we took him to a trainer to get help for his reactivity. He is doing better and he does respond to correction. But he cannot be around young kids. We recently got a small puppy, hoping he would adjust to a younger dog but he has not been able to. He will do best as the only dog. We are about to move and do not have a way to continue to keep the dogs separate. We are looking for a couple or a single person with no kids and no other dogs or cats. Other than his reactivity he is a great dog. He loves to be with people who can be his pack and hang out with him. He is very sweet natured and affectionate. He does vocalize like a husky! He has good health insurance and comes with all supplies including his bed.

Story
My name is Olive! I'm a Husky - Shepard mix and I'm about 3 months old. I'm quite the goofball when I get excited and have an adorable hop that seems to make people laugh. Potty training is going great, and I love positive rewards.  I get along great with kids and love to play with other dogs! I love the game of fetch, and playing tug of war.  I am unsure about new people and places, but when I warm up I really like the attention and love. I'm also new to the couch experience, and I have to say I really enjoy it! I hope to find a family who will be patient with me and help me build confidence, maybe take me to training classes and socialize me lots! I'm probably going to be a medium dog when I grow up, I'm up to date on vaccinations and fostered in Lakewood, CO.  Please fill out an application to come meet me! ##2577648##

Story
Meet Poncho, a remarkable 4.5-year-old Husky/Shepherd mix who’s searching for his forever home. Rescued from a high-kill shelter after his previous owner had to move and couldn’t take him along, Poncho is a unique and lovable companion with a heart of gold. Poncho is a good-natured and sweet dog who does well with middle to large dogs and is incredibly intelligent. He prefers to spend most of his time outside and doesn’t seek out cuddles or furniture, but he shows his affection in his own special ways. His high energy levels and need for mental stimulation mean he thrives with proper exercise and engaging activities. Ideal for someone who works from home, Poncho doesn’t like to be alone and may struggle with separation, especially at first. He can be a bit vocal, giving you an earful as huskies are known to do, but his charming personality and loving nature make him an exceptional companion. Poncho is a special dog who will bring joy and loyalty to the right home. If you’re looking for a unique and devoted friend who’s ready to become a cherished part of your life, Poncho is the one for you.
