Meet Okami (pronounced oh-kah-me)Okami lives up to his Japanese name sake as it symbolizes courage, loyalty, strength and guardianship! Though he`s not a `wolf` and does not have any of the wolf tendency`s he does have a great spirit which we love about him. Okami is a year and a half and is going through the adolescence stage in life. He will need some help with the basics such as crate training and basic manners. He`s extremely eager to learn and when he looks up at you with those two different colored eyes you will instantly fall in love! Okami doesn`t share well with other dogs so he will have to be the only dog in the home but he can enjoy playdates with other dogs with proper monitoring. He enjoys all activities like hiking or neighborhood walks and car rides. He`s friendly with all people - greeting them exuberantly. If he sounds like the dog you have been waiting for then please come to our Boston location meet him - he`s not a fan of the shelter so the sooner you get here the sooner he can be free to add some excitement to your home!My friends describe me as: Adventurous, playful and affectionateOkami is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team.We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY however, we are unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.For more information on this or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston please visit us during our adoption center hours: Wednesdays-Sundays from 1:00PM – 6:00PM, Tuesdays by appointment only from 1:00PM – 6:00PM, closed Mondays & Holidays.For information about our adoption process click here

Looking for an experienced dog owner who can take in my buddy Poe! I’ve just begun school full time and can see how my schedule is not allowing me to give Poe the time and commitment he needs. Ideally Poe would be better suited for someone with more space for him to roam, I’ve trained him quite a bit (heel command, wait, break command, etc) but he’ll need that reinforced more as he gets older. Poe is not up to date on shots but im willing to coordinate with prospective adopters to get him up to date.

This beautiful Husky was brought to our sister rescue in Louisiana, LAMA. Her crime was killing chickens. Otherwise, she is the perfect dog and is familiar with living inside the house. She is coming up the 28th and will be available the 31st. She estimated to be around five years old and weighs 53 lbs.
