Story
Aspen is a 3-year-old male Siberian Husky who came to the shelter as a stray and is still learning that he’s safe. He can be a bit unsure at first, but with gentle encouragement he’s easy to handle and settles back in without trouble. Aspen offers soft, sweet eye contact and, while shy, clearly wants to be near people. This sensitive boy can get nervous with touch and may shake when he’s scared, but he remains tolerant and allows handling. He isn’t quite ready for playtime yet and isn’t interested in toys right now he’s more focused on taking things in at his own pace. On leash, Aspen walks nicely with no major pulling, making strolls together calm and enjoyable. Aspen would do best with a patient, understanding adopter who can help build his confidence. Aspen would be a good fit for a home with teenagers who can respect his boundaries and move calmly around him.If you are interested in learning more contact our placement team at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:E: Adoption@hempsteadny.govE: Foster@hempsteadny.govE: Rescue@hempsteadny.govT. 516.785.5220#adoption #adoptme #newyorkadoptables #opttoadopt #mixedbreed #lovemydog #dogsofnewyork #longislandanimalshelter #animalshelters #cutepup #puppy #dog #doggo #rescuedog #rescue #rescued #ideserveachance #ideservelove #goodpup

Story
Jada is a 3.5 year husky mix full of sweetness, wiggles, and playful energy! She loves people, snuggles, and interactive play, and she’s a pro at basic cues like sit, down, stay, and come. Jada has a fun, bouncy personality with both people and dogs, though she would do best in a dog-savvy home because of some toy and chew guarding. She’s looking for an active family with young teens who can keep up with her husky energy and love her playful spirit! If you are interested in learning more contact our placement team at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:E: Adoption@hempsteadny.govE: Foster@hempsteadny.govE: Rescue@hempsteadny.govT. 516.785.5220Wantagh Long Island, New York#Adoptme #adoptionistheoption #takemehome #adoption #rescue #rescueismyfavoritebreed #opttoadopt

Story
Boxy is a timid but gentle 2-year-old husky mix who was recently surrendered by his owner and is still learning to feel secure. Boxy allows handling, though he’s a bit uncomfortable with his paws being touched, and he takes treats gently once he feels safe. He loves playing with giggle balls, and is starting to really learn how to play! On leash he walks nicely at your side, occasionally startling at noises but relaxing with continued reassurance. Boxy is shy with new people and needs time to warm up, but once he does, he enjoys quiet affection. He is recommended for homes with teens 16 and older. If you are interested in learning more contact our placement team at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:E: Adoption@hempsteadny.govE: Foster@hempsteadny.govE: Rescue@hempsteadny.govT. 516.785.5220#Adoptme #adoptionistheoption #takemehome #adoption #rescue #rescueismyfavoritebreed #opttoadopt #longislanddogs #longislanddogparents #adotions #dog #doggo #dogsofnewyork #newyorkcitydogs #NYCdogs #nycrescuedog #rescuedog #nyadoptable #longislandanimalshelter #animalshelter #shelterdogs #shelterdog #shelterdogsrock #rescuedogsarethebest#huskymix #huskyrescue #huskies

Story
Dino is a striking 2 year Husky with a bold personality and an even bigger heart. Bursting with playful energy, he’s ready for a home that can keep up with his adventurous spirit. Dino is a true social butterfly! He is friendly with new people, confident and tolerant around other dogs, and always eager to join the fun. A classic Husky at heart, he’s independent and a little aloof (eye contact is optional!), but his goofy charm and playful antics make him irresistible. Dino loves romping with toys, exploring the world, and being handled gently. He’s still polishing his leash manners and basic cues, but with a patient, consistent guide, he’s motivated and eager to learn. Because of his size and energy, Dino would do best in a home with older children who can match his enthusiasm. If you’re ready for a little wild joy, laughter, and adventure, Dino can’t wait to meet you!If you are interested in learning more contact our placement team at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:E: Adoption@hempsteadny.govE: Foster@hempsteadny.govE: Rescue@hempsteadny.govT. 516.785.5220Wantagh Long Island, New York#Adoptme #adoptionistheoption #takemehome #adoption #rescue #rescueismyfavoritebreed #opttoadopt
