Spayed or Neutered,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. LANA was transferred to GaDaH with her two siblings from a shelter in Texas. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue  YouTube channel  and  photo albums on our Facebook page  to see a LOT of pictures and videos. LANA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm/tick tested negative. She is on monthly prevention, microchipped, has an estimated date of birth of 6 December 2021 and at the  time of transport weighed 36 pounds. We have no way of knowing what the actual breed is, so it is up to people to look at the pictures and video's to make up their own mind. LANA is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine for an adoption fee of $550.      This adoption fee covers the cost of running a brick and mortar rescue as well as any transport, veterinary, food,     treats, toys costs and the many expenses that rescues endure to keep the pets in their care safe, and happy.      Be sure to read all his information and if interested, go to the rescue website to submit an adoption application. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 More information, pictures and videos will be posted when all dogs are here, settled in and I have had time to get them and post. The rescue buys food in bulk, by the truck load and there are a variety of brands and flavors. None of the food given is less than a 4* food rating. There have not been issues with eating any of the varying foods. It is important that you do your research on the ingredients and speak to your vet or a nutritionist on grain vs grain free! &#226&#128&#139You MUST understand that dogs need time to decompress and adapt to their new environment and home. It is a HUGE transition they make from the kill shelter, being vetted, on transport for 3 days and arriving in Maine where the temperature and such is very different to what they have only known. In rescue there is what is known as the "3 Point Rule" Days 1-3 your dog is stressed, anxious, confused as to where they are now. Weeks 1-3 your dog is adjusting, settling in, learning things. At the 3-month point, your dog understands they are home, and have built up a trusting relationship where they feel loved and secure. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 1-2 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then we can schedule your appointment to come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine for meet/greet/adopt Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx. 8 miles) and approx. 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Wesley Dude! Wesley is obviously not your typical looking husky. He has a signature ONE BLUE EYE. That may be where his huskiness begins and ends... Wesley is a sweet natured boy who is super happy to always see you and be right by your side. He is not going to smother you nor is he a Velcro type. He does like his walks because he has the cutest bounce to his step when he is walking. He is keen to take them with you. And he is curious about everything around him but understands that walks are about walking TOGETHER. He does not pull on his leash during his walks. Sweet guy!!! He is not really interested in being around very young puppies. He is already a mature adult. But, he is good around neutered males and all females. He is not interested in being top dog but at the same time he doesn't like to be bullied by another male dog. I don't blame him...nobody likes a bully! Wesley's life has been a very hard one based on the condition of his teeth. Maybe he had to eat rocks to help him feel full because many of his teeth are ground down. Poor guy. And he is a bit on the skinny side so hopefully his new family will love to fatten him up with yummy treats! Wesley is looking for a family to have nice walks with and then have some warm comfy cuddle time. He has done well with kids ages 6 years old and up. Wesley is kennel trained. And as long as he has regular walks outside for potty breaks, he is good about doing his business outside. Wesley has been neutered. He has 2 DAPP shots, bordatella shot, and rabies shots. He has been dewormed several times. He has been tested, treated (if needed), and retested for giardia and coccidia. He is chipped. He is also on heartworm and fleas and ticks preventatives. Wesley is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. He will be ready to join his family in mid-April. Plenty of time to get ready for him! All animals receive a health certificate (stating that a licensed veterinarian saw the pet and deemed it healthy for travel, but is not a promise of perfect health). Please email for an A.M.O.R. application in order to be considered. Please note: this pet is located out of state.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This is beautiful Brad, a gorgeous (almost certainly purebred) Husky! We call him Brad because of his piercing blue eyes and his scruffy movie star looks! Brad is about 62 lbs and 7 years old. He LOVES people. He is a gentle soul that likes an occasional goofy play session with his human. He also loves attention and always welcomes head scratches. He hasn’t recently been around dogs so we don’t know how he acts. He would be good with older children because we haven’t seen him interact with young children. If interested in adopting, please complete our application, link below (you can copy and paste into your browser). https://www.miraclesforsatosrescue.org/adoption-foster-application --------------------------------------------- PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently in Puerto Rico. Once an adopter is fully approved, transport will be arranged to the New York/NJ area. We DO adopt out of state, but you must come to pick up. In addition, if you are applying for this dog or any of our pups, you must be open to dog psychology/behavior (Cesar Millan) and fulfilling the needs of the dog. We strive for our dogs to be adopted into the right home. The best fit for the dog is our priority. We ask that you please make sure if interested in a puppy or high energy breed that you are ready for this time consuming/daily endeavor and have patience as this is a long term commitment (could be 15+ years). Please consider your future lifestyle after COVID. Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment is the most important thing in caring for a dog. In addition we cannot guarantee breed of any dog or expected adult size of a puppy. Thank you for understanding.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Balto (born: 2/24/2021) is an affectionate, friendly, playful, Siberian Husky who weighs 52 pounds and is housebroken. Balto was transferred to HSNY from a kill shelter in Texas, because as a breed that is comfortable in colder weather, Texas would be too hot for him. Balto enjoys going for walks, meeting people, having his coat brushed, giving kisses and most of all – a good belly rub! We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us. FOR AN APPLICATION, please visit http://humanesocietyny.org/adoptions/ and download then email your application to hsny.adopt@gmail.com. Our one and only location is: 306 East 59th Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenue) in Manhattan. If you'd like to sponsor Balto, please email amk.hsny@verizon.net. You can give as much or as little as you like. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you! For additional information on the Humane Society of New York, please visit: humanesocietyny.org. Thank you!
