Story
Lilly (Husky) and Buddha (Pittie) are a bonded pair.  They are approx. 9 years old and had a Dad who loved them, and tried his best to take good care of them, but one day he was gone, and they were found alone, together in the apartment comforting each other.  They were brought to the City Shelter, and were separated but cried for each other constantly.  They were brought into the office so they could be together again.  They are wonderful with people, we do not know about other dogs, and children we think at this stage of their lives, and all they have been through, might just be a bit much for them.  They deserve a home where they can be loved for themselves, not have to share the love and attention, a home where they can live out their lives together for the time they have.  They are being vetted at this time, and looking for their new forever home.... they truly are a very special couple. Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application.  https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only. Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you! ##1596749##

Story
Name: Kody Age: 5 years old - birthday in November  Weight: about 50 pounds  Leash: pulls first 10 minutes then good - would get better with more walks I’m sure  Car: great. Loves car rides  Noise: quiet- usually only barks when someone walks in the house for a little bit  Affectionate: yes! Good with other dogs also. No experience with cats I"d love to see this boy with an active sol/couple or retirees.  I want him to be the center of the universe.  He has been totally shafted in this family.   Kody's personality in house: unfortunately because we haven’t had the time to give him. He has just been laying in his bed all day and then walks to the door and waits there for one of us to let him out. He lays outside for a while and then back inside- back and forth all day. He goes to the bathroom outside and he will tell you by going to the door. He loves to play fetch and is very good at giving the ball back to you to throw again. I say he’s like a cat in the sense that he likes to come up and be pet and give kisses. He’ll cuddle with you for 15 minutes but then he goes back to his spot. He’s sweet and has a great personality. He is living with small children who have behavioral issues and the dog is not living his best life now.  Need to get him out of here.  He needs an active life with people and dogs.  He's dog social.  He has no life here and zero exercise.  Please let's get this guy outta here now. I have moved him to my trainer's house in Norwalk, CT.  Contact LORPdogrescue@gmail.com  May 28, 2023, 3:11 pm

Everyone meet Skye. So beautiful and precious. Really a sweet girl. Looking for love in all the wrong places. She is desperately looking for a family of her own. She craves love and attention. Skye was found out and about with a friend of hers who was reunited with her owner. Skye is heartbroken languishing in a crappy Texas shelter. Let’s show her that people don’t suck. Vaccinated, spayed, heartworm negative. Ready to live her best life. Be a hero today and change this dogs life!!!

Story
Hudson is a male husky who comes to us from a rescue in New Jersey. Hudson is approximately 40 lbs, great with people and good other dogs. He loves to play! Hudson is a smart guy who is eager to please. He needs to continue working on his leash walking skills. Hudson would do best with an active family who has a yard for him to play in. He would do well with a similarly sized buddy to run around with. Familiarity with the husky breed is a plus!
