Story
This sweet 8 1/2 month old girl has been in boarding and training for 3 weeks, and is doing great. She seems to really thrive having other dogs around to love on and play with, so we are asking for friendly dogs in her new home. She has learned sit, down, and stay like the little champ she is! We do not know how she will do with cats though, and we are asking for older children only. If you would  like to be considered to adopt this beautiful girl, don't delay! Or if you would like to foster this girl, right out of Board and Train, Please tell us. She would really appreciate getting into a home for awhile before adopted.  Her adoption fee is $200, and includes all vetting. Spay, vaccines, microchip, flea tick and heartworm prevention, and endless love from a rescued dog! Please fill out an application and contact Sheri at sswank1@gmail.com with any questions.February 23, 2026, 8:05 am

Story
Freddy is a 3 year-old male Husky mix. Freddy came in with his brother Draco, but he is not good with other animals and will need to be the only animal in his home. He loves his toys, and his playful spirit will keep you entertained for hours! Freddy walks very well on a leash, and even better on a harness! He likes going on walks, but he will need to stop you a couple times because petting him is more important than anything else. Freddy is a very simple dog who knows what he wants in life, spray cheese, blankets, and a loving home. He isn't very photogenic, but we swear he is even cuter in person. If you don't believe us come check him out yourself! Dogs are available to meet before their adoption date. The Dog Shelter's adoption fee is $64 (cash or check). All dogs come with DHPP and Bordetella vaccines, microchipped, a current year dog license, and a certificate to be spayed or neutered (The Dog Shelter pays for it). If it is an owner surrender dog, more vaccine information may be provided. Our hours are Monday thru Friday 10AM-12:30PM and 1PM-4PM and Saturdays 10AM to 2PM. You must be present to adopt and have a current approved adoption application.

Story
Draco is a 2 yr old Male Husky. He is very friendly. But does not do well with other animals. He was adopted and returned due to not being housebroken. Draco is probably one of the most affectionate dogs you will ever meet. He would need a home without other animals and would need training on the housebreaking and basic manners. Draco is the most affectionate boy there is, he will sit at your feet forever as long as you are rubbing his belly or rubbing his ears. He looks as if he is always smiling. Draco has 2 favorite squeaky pig toys that he likes to carry around. Come in and meet this handsome always smiling boy today. Story
Meet Twisted!Twisted is a three-year-old Siberian Husky mix weighing about 45 pounds, with a soulful gaze and a heart that just needs a little time to shine. He can be sensitive and somewhat shy when meeting new people, so he appreciates slow, respectful introductions that allow him to feel safe and comfortable. Because of this, we’re recommending that any children in his forever home be around 10–13 years old or older and able to understand his need for space at first.Once Twisted warms up, his sweet and affectionate personality truly blossoms. He loves cuddle sessions just as much as a good play session and enjoys bonding closely with his people. When he trusts you, he’s incredibly loyal, loving, and eager to be by your side. When it comes to other dogs, Twisted can sometimes come on a bit forward or unsure during introductions, which can make him feel uncomfortable. However, he does show potential to live with another canine companion. A slow, patient, and structured introduction will be very important to help set him up for success. At this time, we do not know how Twisted does with cats.Twisted is looking for a patient, understanding home that will give him the time he needs to settle in — and in return, he’ll offer deep devotion, affection, and plenty of husky charm. Stop by today at The Humane Society of Summit County to meet him!

Story
Meet Chaos!Chaos is a handsome, 10-year-old Husky gentleman with a soulful gaze and a quiet, thoughtful nature. True to his name, he’s not actually chaotic at all—he’s more of a slow-burn kind of guy who prefers to take his time getting to know new people. Once he feels safe and comfortable, Chaos shows his sweet, loyal side and forms deep bonds with his people. As you can see in his adorable video, once he knows you he is a bouncy and playful boy who loves to make the most of playtime!Because Chaos can be sensitive, he’s looking for a calm, patient home that understands that trust takes time. If there are kids in the home, we’re asking that they be 16 years or older, as Chaos does best with teens who can respect his space and read his cues. When it comes to other dogs, Chaos is still figuring out appropriate play and social skills. He may do well with a laid-back, chill canine companion who won’t overwhelm him and can help show him the ropes. At this time, we’re unsure how Chaos would do with cats in the home.Chaos would thrive with someone who appreciates a quieter companion and is willing to let him move at his own pace. If you’re looking for a loyal friend and believe the best relationships are built on patience and trust, Chaos might just be your perfect match. Stop in at The Humane Society of Summit County today to meet him!

Story
Say hello to Atlas! He is a 1.5 year old Husky mix who weighs about 59 pounds. Atlas is a handsome fellow, but he can be quite sensitive in nature. He arrived in our care after being tied to a tree abandoned, so he is still learning to trust new people and new places. Once he knows you, he is a sweet and snuggly boy who loves sticking close to his favorite people. He may not enjoy going on adventures with you or exploring outside of his comfort zone, but with his favorite people he is a total lovebug. Atlas seems to enjoy other dogs and thrives in an environment where he can have a canine companion to help build his confidence. We would strongly encourage a slow introduction between Atlas and any canine friends to ensure his success in the future. Due to his sensitivity, if there are kids in his forever home he would do best with kids ages 13 and older that can give him space while he`s becoming comfortable. If Atlas looks like the pup for you, stop in today to meet this handsome boy!
