Story
Duke is a sweet, affectionate dog who loves attention, hikes, walks, brushing, scratches, tug-of-war, and spending time with his people. He is crate trained, can be left home alone during the workday, and knows basic commands like sit, down, and come. He's smart, trainable, and would thrive with someone who enjoys working with dogs and getting outdoors. I'm rehoming Duke because what was originally supposed to be a temporary arrangement has become permanent, and I can't give him the time, exercise, and training he deserves. To be successful, Duke needs an experienced owner. He can be vocal around children and has a history of warning nips when pushed beyond his comfort level, particularly around nail trimming and paw handling. He has also shown aggression toward a couple of adult male dogs in the past, so careful introductions and management are important. Duke isn't a dog for every home, but for the right persohe's a loyal companion with a lot of love to give.

Story
I got Ferdinand when he was a puppy. He spent a lot of time with me at my warehouse job, getting plenty of exercise and outdoor time. I no longer have a job where i can take him, and don’t have the energy or time between my growing young family and work to give him the exercise he needs. He used to snuggle with our other dog before he passed away, and nuzzles our cat. He can be rambunctious and likes to roughhouse from time to time, but also loves to snuggle in bed. He is very vocal and will have no issue arguing over who is in the right when he wants something. We love Ferdinand with our whole hearts, but it is not fair to him how little attention, patience, and exercise we can give him. He is good with cats and loves to play with dogs but needs room to run. He is good with children, just needs to be reminded they are not big enough to play rough with. We have never had an issue with aggression. Looking for someone, preferably with an active lifestyle, or at least room for him to run.

Story
Meet Khaos — an adorable 10-month-old husky mix with a playful personality and lots of love to give! While he’s on the smaller side for a husky mix, he still has that fun, energetic husky spirit. Khaos absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys running around and playing with his friends whenever he gets the chance. He’s currently working on house training and is making great progress. Khaos also does well in a crate, though true to his husky roots, he may bark a little at first. He’s still learning leash manners and will need continued guidance and consistency as he grows. Khaos will come fixed, up to date on vaccinations, and current on preventative care. He’s a sweet young pup looking for a family that will continue helping him learn while giving him plenty of love, playtime, and adventure This animal is current on all age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed/neutered or will go home with an already scheduled appointment. They have also been given flea prevention. Adoption fee is $350.00. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an application. http://www.ajssearchandrescue.org/adoption-application July 28, 2026, 7:14 pm

Story
Skye is a beautiful female red and white Siberian husky with sky blue eyes. She is about 35 pounds of putre love, a little shy but velcro once she knows you. We think she might be a Pomsky (Pomeranian/husky) as small as she is.  She likes other dogs and is okay with cats. She would be a great addition to any family. She loves children. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go to her new home. To adopt this sweetheart, please do our non-obligatory application at www.pawsandprayers.org. Her adoption fee is $350. Any questions, email marty@pawsandprayers.org .August 2, 2026, 2:56 pm

Story
Freddy is a 3 year-old male Husky mix. Freddy came in with his brother Draco, but he is not good with other animals and will need to be the only animal in his home. He loves his toys, and his playful spirit will keep you entertained for hours! Freddy walks very well on a leash, and even better on a harness! He likes going on walks, but he will need to stop you a couple times because petting him is more important than anything else. Freddy is a very simple dog who knows what he wants in life, spray cheese, blankets, and a loving home. He isn't very photogenic, but we swear he is even cuter in person. If you don't believe us come check him out yourself! Dogs are available to meet before their adoption date. The Dog Shelter's adoption fee is $64 (cash or check). All dogs come with DHPP and Bordetella vaccines, microchipped, a current year dog license, and a certificate to be spayed or neutered (The Dog Shelter pays for it). If it is an owner surrender dog, more vaccine information may be provided. Our hours are Monday thru Friday 10AM-12:30PM and 1PM-4PM and Saturdays 10AM to 2PM. You must be present to adopt and have a current approved adoption application.
