Story
Theo 6-year-old male black Lab mix 91 lbs Neutered
Background: Theo was saved from the Stockton shelter and relocated to Diesel Ranch in Placerville last year as he waits to find his forever home.
What Theo Says:I am a dog of relaxation. Two 30-minute leash walks per day is plenty for me. I prefer to alternate between lying on my dog bed and roaming in the yard. I like to be first in line for everything… for food, for a squeaky toy, for a belly scratch, for a double ear rub. I get along great with my roomie dog Diesel and my fellow foster dog Barney. My favorite canine yoga positions are Downward Facing Sofa and Warrior II While Gnawing Bone.
What Theo's Foster Says:Theo is a big, handsome guy. A lover of his humans, he just wants to be around you all day. He makes a great companion. He is proficient at “sit” and “wait” before entering and exiting outside. Theo is house-trained. He also knows “sit”, “paw”, “stay”, and “out”. Theo can be left alone inside for hours without a problem. Theo sleeps quietly through the night on his dog bed. He loves to play fetch and go for walks -- pulls a bit on leash. A DNA analysis of Theo found that he was a mix of Doberman, Rottweiler, St Bernard, and Labrador Retriever. He would do best in an adult-only home as he’s a big guy. No cats please.
Medical: Theo is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered. Part of his tail had to be removed due to severe case of “happy tail” in the past.

Our volunteers donate their personal time phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
