Independent Sniffer: He enjoys sniffing around and exploring on his own, but he readily engages with you when called upon. Easy to Manage: While he may pull a bit on the leash, Gustavo seems to understand the routine and is easy to handle. Story
Bambi is an almost 4 month old Rottweiler mix (probably some other stuff in there too). We got him from a shelter at two months and were only told that he was a lab mix, however it has become clear to us that he is Rottweiler too. We have young children & he’d do better with older kids (he loves kids & is gentle with them when they are with him). Like most puppies, he is still learning manners, but he is super smart and a quick learner. He is partially potty trained and doing well with basic commands like sit, down and responding to his name (although I’m sure you could change it if you wanted to). He is crated at night, but otherwise is still getting used to it. He is teething pretty heavily so we give him lots of chews and chew toys and have been trying to disengage when he nips too hard - he is affectionate and sweet and responds well to redirection.

Story
Pippin is a SUPER sweet and social dog who loves nothing more than to hang out with the humans in his life. He's a true love bug, and at 2+ years of age you know what you're getting. He walks great on leash, is potty trained, and has done well with children (4yo/7yo) in a previous home. He loves to jog with our "Jog-a-dog" program, and has won the hearts of staff and volunteers alike! Pippin's only behavior challenge is that he does not like other dogs in his space. Since he does not appreciate the company of other dogs, Pippin must be the only dog in his new home. However, with positive reinforcement training, we think Pippin can make great strides towards feeling safer when seeing dogs and about, and he's been making great progress in the shelter! Our behavior and training team is happy to provide the resources to enable Pippin's adopters to continue his training. Primary Color: Tan Weight: 61.4 Age: 2yrs 8mths 1wks

He would be a great fit for anyone seeking a large-breed puppy to love and raise. At nine months he's technically an adult dog, but this skinny guy still has some filling out to do, and a few doggie manners left to master. * 9 months old * 40 lbs. * Sweet and friendly * Plenty of pep * Loves everyone, animal and human * Loves water * Jumps up to show his excitement * Working on potty skills Come meet bueno puppy Santiago at 1590 Fortmann Way in Alameda, California, any afternoon but Monday, and start a great family adventure!

Story
Jake is a typical puppy. Lots of energy and lots of fun! Jake is comfortable with other dogs, and is generally a very outgoing guy. In no time he’s everybody’s best friend. Jake has some puppy habits like jumping on people, so he needs a home that is willing to take on consistent training for him. Just like any good puppy, of course! Jake is very smart and responsive. Growing up in a shelter can be hard! If you put in the time and attention with him, he will grow into a wonderful family member. He has been working on his housetraining and is getting the hang of that, too.

Story
Lab Mix Male, neutered 35 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Levi was picked up as a stray in Stockton, CA. One of his front legs had an elbow fracture that wasn’t attended to. The tendons were seized up in the fracture, so he couldn’t move his other joint either. The vets think he was probably hit by a car about a month before going to the animal shelter. He wasn’t well cared for before arriving at the shelter, but he was still the sweetest dog - loving everybody. Because of his bad leg, he needed a rescue group to take him in, so the shelter called us. Once he had his leg amputated, he became a whole new dog - loving the freedom of not having to lug around that useless limb. Unfortunately, he has osteoarthritis in his hips. The surgeon thinks his previous injury damaged the blood supply to his hips. He needs to stay thin and active with low impact exercise. Luckily, he loves to get daily exercise! Watching him run around, you wouldn’t guess that he has hip issues. He will be need to on lifelong arthritis treatment. He currently gets monthly injections of Librela and Adequan and a daily joint supplement. No surgery is recommended on his hips at this time. Levi loves going for walks and going jogging. He is leash reactive when other dogs are close, but when they are across the street, he doesn't react and has learned "look" to get a treat and focus on his foster mom. He currently wears a muzzle while out for walks for when a close encounter is unavoidable and he does well with it on. Levi lived with a large dog in his foster home for eight months and was great with him. He would do well being the only pet or living with the right dog with slow introductions. Levi entertains himself with chew toys and stuffed Kongs when he's home alone and does well by himself. Fetch is Levi's favorite game in the backyard and the house and he is good about bringing it back and dropping it. At home care is easy with Levi, as he allows ear cleaning, nail clipping, brushing, teeth brushing, monthly injections and getting a bath with no problems. He loves to cuddle up next to people on the couch and in bed. He has met a lot of strangers of all ages and does very well with everyone. Bikes, skateboards, canes, hats, etc. don't bother him. Levi is potty trained using a dog door. Levi has shown some prey drive tendencies in the backyard, so he probably wouldn't do well in a home with cats. He also shows some barrier reactivity with the neighbor's dog, and is still working on that behavior. If you are looking for a super sweet, smart, resilient dog and are up for continuing his training and arthritis meds, Levi might be the dog for you. He is also a great watch dog. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Levi, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

NAME: VANNA GENDER: FEMALE BREED: FORMOSAN MOUNTAIN DOG MIX COLOR: BROWN AGE: 2 YEARS OLD WEIGHT: 36lbs SPAY OR NEUTER: Yes MICROCHIP: Yes If you would like to give Vanna a forever home, please go to www.adoptadoggie.org to fill out an online application with home photos. Vanna is a sweet and shy girl! Vanna loves her humans, gentle with children, and good with dogs of all sizes. She has a good temperament and lots of love to give. Vanna has been through a rough start in life and is shy with new people at first. She is doing well in her foster home and ready for her forever home. Vanna started some leash training and is learning at a good pace. She is crate-trained and doing well on her housetraining. She rides well in the car and can wait patiently while her foster mom runs errands. We are looking for a committed family that will continue to train & socialize her to help her build confidence. VANNA’s Rescue Story Poor Vanna and her siblings (Vannette, Vannetti, and Vannette) were living as stray dogs in the mountain. They were rescued by a volunteer of a TNR rescue group. The rescue has a temporary rundown place for the dogs. TNR groups specialize in getting stray animals spayed and neutered and the animals are returned to their original location to live as homeless dogs. TNR programs help with the overpopulation of unwanted animals. The volunteer reached out to an experienced international rescue organization to help with them and some other puppies that are still too young to be released back to the streets. The founder of the rescue organization has over 180 dogs waiting for homes. However, she could not bear to see them going back to the mountain and suffer on the streets. She agreed to take them home and give them a chance in life. Vanna had a thorough medical checkup. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchip, and passed negative on her blood tests.
