Story
Hi there! My name is ROCKY. What’s yours? Nice to meet ya! I am in Houston, TX. I am posted as a transportation destination in numerous cities across the U. S. If you are within driving distance, can you come to Houston to pick me up, please? If you need me to travel to you, I can do that, too! I promise you won't be disappointed. A nice person came along and took me in and, now, I am ready to hit the road to your house! Uh, make that “our” house, OK? I definitely need a house with a fenced-in yard cuz I need room to run and romp and be safe! The rescue requires (1) a fenced-in yard for ALL of its dogs and (2) an Excellent, already-established vet History on a current or previous dog. We would call your vet once you have filled out an application. You don't have to produce vet records beforehand. I am a Labrador Retriever mix, my vet says. I am 1.5 YEARS old and I weigh 68 pounds. I have been neutered and am up to date on vaccines so I'm ready to go to my new home with YOU!! Wanna hear some more good stuff about me? OK, here goes. Here's what people who know me say: He's absolutely the cutest and sweetest dog and would make an awesome addition to any family! He's super easy going and likes to follow you around to see what you are doing. He brings so much joy to everyone around him, and we're hoping to find him a special person or family so he can bring them as much joy as he brings to others! He likes dogs and kids. (See his photos - one with a child and one with another dog.) We haven't tried with cats yet so not sure. He is potty-trained, crate-trained and walks well on a leash. He knows how to sit and lay. We are working on other training skills like stay/heel, and to not jump when people arrive. He's just so excited to greet everyone but doesn't touch them. He just jumps out of excitement.... and gives amazing hugs!!! Will you teach me all the things a young doggie needs to know to be safe and happy? I take treats nicely and I ride nicely in a car. I'm a young and active boy so, if you have human kiddos, they need to be a tad older. I don't want to hurt anyone but I might, accidentally, knock over a toddler and I don't want to do that! Since I was rescued, I like to take naps when I'm tired from playing. I need love, exercise and couch-sitting when we get tired! Let's be a team, OK? If you would like to take me home (and you know you do), please email doggydarlings12@gmail.com and they can get me on my way to a new and loving home!

Story
Dozer is a shy but loyal and happy dog. He loves to follow ‘his human’ around like a shadow, whoever that is. He has separation anxiety so he doesn’t react well when put in a kennel/cage or behind a baby gate/fence. He tends to bark non-stop and/or rub the top of his nose raw. He is very well behaved though so leaving him free range of your home while you are out should be no issue. For the years he has been with us there have been 1-3 other dogs in the home so he will have no problem with another dog in the home. He has never shown a single ounce of aggression towards any person or dog. However, he can be very timid/scared when first meeting new people (especially men). After a proper introduction though they will be his new favorite person. He absolutely loves neck scratches and playing fetch with frisbees/rings.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, please let me introduce myself, my name is Sarah and I am a Lab/Jack Russell Terrier. I am house trained and crate trained, and love to go on walks and sniff around a securely fenced backyard.  Did I tell you that its me that pick all the tomatoes from the plants in the yard ? I am also spayed and have had all of my shots. Sarah was abused by her first human family, so she finds it hard to trust new people and has fear aggression. It will take time to gain Sarah's trust and multiple meetings.  She needs an owner that can give her guidance (and plenty of treats) in situations when she feels insecure. After meeting a trainer Sarah have improved a lot and she responds to her special verbal command.  A training class would be a great adventure for Sarah and her new family. She will excel and perform as an A-student, she likes to learn and is eager to please. Building a relationship with Sarah will be time well spent, once she has overcome her insecurity and fear she is a GREAT active, loyal, and loving dog.  Please come and meet me,  I need is a chance to find my permanent home. Older children only pleas e.    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello, I am Charlie Brown! I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and my specific needs. I am an independent little guy but I love snuggles on the couch and being close to my person(‘s) when it is time to relax! I am good with other dogs and would do great with a buddy but am also great on my own and getting all the loves to myself! I am potty trained and know my basic commands. I am a very loving and kind dog. I am smart and learn very quickly! I am pretty much bomb proof! Noises do not bother me, fire works included! I will need a human that has a fence because being a beagle mix, my nose hits the ground and I just want to follow that scent! I have been working super hard on my leash skills! But I will need a human who can continue to work with me so we can go on adventures together! Being outside is the best thing in the world to me and finding new smells is amazing to me too! I would win first prize in any scent training sport!!) Children 13 and up are recommended! I can get a little excited about going outside and may knock over the little ones! I would love to learn more about the world and how great it is! If you would like to be my new adventure partner, I would be very happy to meet you Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Sonny, one of our newest arrivals at the Mikey & Me Kennels in Chelsea for Happy Days Rescue. Sonny is a Black Lab Mix, he’s about one year of age, he weighs 47 pounds, and he has a beautiful, shiny, short haired coat. Sonny is really friendly and he loves meeting new people. He takes his treats nicely and he enjoys playing with Diego, our young, energetic Akita/Chow(?) mix. Sonny has just been neutered, he tested negative for heart worm disease, he’s been recently vaccinated, and he is on monthly prevention for both heart worms disease and for fleas and ticks. Sonny walks nicely on leash and he enjoys playing with his toys. I would be confident about Sonny living in a home with children as long as they are supervised if under about six years of age. If you would like to meet Sonny, please submit an adoption application Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Slim Shady, one of our newest arrivals at the Mikey & Me kennels in Chelsea for Happy Days Rescue.  Slim Shady is a Lab/Mountain Cur mix, he’s 2 years old, and he weighs 41#. He’s a very sweet, quiet, friendly dog. But right now Slim Shady is afraid of meeting new people and of navigating new surroundings. He came to us from an overcrowded shelter and he’s going to need some time to decompress and rebuild his trust in people. Slim will be going to the Vet soon for all of his vaccinations, a physical exam, heart worm test, and I will be scheduling an appt. for his neuter surgery. Slim is at a pretty healthy weight for his size and he’s been eating well since his arrival. I won’t be considering applications for his adoption just yet but I will be looking for someone who would like to start bonding with him and building his trust with the hope of adopting him once he’s feeling more confident and prepared to make the transition. We’ve seen other dogs come in just as afraid as he is and, based on those experiences, it’s just a matter of time until he will start to come around.  If you would like to meet Slim Shady with the hope of adopting him, please message me through the Mikey & Me community FB page. Or, submit an adoption application under Slim’s name at  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org  and, once approved, I will reach out to you to coordinate a meet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Gerber, one of our newest arrivals at the Mikey & Me kennels in Chelsea for Happy Days Rescue.  Gerber is a very handsome, well mannered Lab Mix and he’s just one year old; he weighs about 47 pounds. Gerber came to us from an overcrowded shelter in West Virginia and he’s a happy, well adjusted boy. He’s slightly underweight but he has a healthy appetite so I don’t think that will be a problem for long. Gerber has interacted very well with the other dogs in our kennels and he now plays with two other males, similar to him in size, on a daily basis. Gerber will be getting all of his vaccinations, heart worm test, physical exam, and neuter surgery completed in the coming weeks. More pics will be available in the coming days.
