Meet Harley, our newest resident at the Mikey & Me kennels for Happy Days Rescue.  Harley is a yellow lab mix, he’s 16 months old, he weighs about 70 pounds, and he has a beautiful, soft coat. He has been vaccinated and will receive his booster shots at his neuter appt. on May 10th. He will also be tested for Heart Worm and will be started on HW prevention at this same time.  Harley is a sweet, gentle boy, he walks nicely on leash, he enjoys engaging with new people and kids, and he’s good with other dogs. Harley loves to run and play and he will make a wonderful family dog. We’re not sure about cats yet but with his calm, laid back demeanor, I’d be very surprised if he wasn’t OK with them.  If you would like to meet Harley, please submit an adoption application under his name at  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org .   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Meet Ruff, our newest resident at the Mikey & Me Kennels for Happy Days Rescue.  Ruff is a Black Lab (mix?), he’s somewhere between 3-5 years old, he weighs 49 pounds, and he’s a fast learner. To be transparent, I brought Ruff to Mikey & Me for a couple that recently lost their beautiful Yellow Lab. However, if they end up not choosing to adopt him, he will still be available.  Ruff was found as a stray before being rescued into a large shelter. I want to believe this sweet boy has lived in a home as he is well mannered, knows basic commands, and loves meeting new people. Ruff was tested with another large dog at the shelter and he did just fine; he engages nicely with kids but he’s still learning not to pull on his leash when walking.  Ruff has been vaccinated but he still needs to be neutered, microchipped, tested for Heart Worm disease, etc. His first Vet appt. is on Friday, June 5th and he is being neutered on Monday, June 29th.  Adoption applications can be submitted thru Happy Days Rescue at  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org  or a quick-meet app can be submitted under Ruff’s name at Mikeyandme.org. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ollie is an older Lab/Pit mix looking for a new place to lay his head through no fault of his own.  Ollie is described as energetic, affectionate, and generally friendly. He gets along well with cats, likes kids, and plays well with other dogs in normal situations. He can be a little timid with new people at first but warms up quickly. He does guard high-value treats or toys from other dogs (not from people). Ollie is UTD on vaccines, neutered and microchipped.  He did have ACL surgery on his back legs about 2 years ago, they did a TPLO and he went through 6 months of hydrotherapy. He has no issues with mobility, he runs, plays, jumps, hops on the couch, just a normal dog at this point.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The microchip is transferred to the adopter once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a one-time $15 microchip enrollment fee.  Microchips are enrolled with AKC Reunite.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. He has come so far since his arrival and he loves all people, including kids, and he loves being with other dogs.  Sonic is a Lab/hound mix, he's about 3.5 years old, he weighs 63 pounds, and he has a beautifully blended black/brown coat. Sonic is a sweet boy, a really good dog at the core, and he loves engaging with people and spending time with other dogs. Sonic is discovering more and more about the great outdoors and is enjoying his freedom after previously being crated much of the time. He loves being outside; lazing around, going for long walks and going for car rides.  Sonic has been neutered, he is up to date on vaccinations, he tested negative for Heart worm disease, and he’s being given monthly heart worm prevention as well as monthly flea/tick meds. Sonic has so much love and companionship to give. He needs a person to be his leader, best friend, and all day companion. I am house trained and crate trained, and love to go on walks and sniff around a securely fenced backyard.  Did I tell you that its me that pick all the tomatoes from the plants in the yard ? I am also spayed and have had all of my shots. Sarah was abused by her first human family, so she finds it hard to trust new people and has fear aggression. It will take time to gain Sarah's trust and multiple meetings.  She needs an owner that can give her guidance (and plenty of treats) in situations when she feels insecure. After meeting a trainer Sarah have improved a lot and she responds to her special verbal command.  A training class would be a great adventure for Sarah and her new family. She will excel and perform as an A-student, she likes to learn and is eager to please. Building a relationship with Sarah will be time well spent, once she has overcome her insecurity and fear she is a GREAT active, loyal, and loving dog.  Please come and meet me,  I need is a chance to find my permanent home.
